East Shore is a suburban stretch of Harrisburg that starts immediately east of downtown. Coupled with Central Harrisburg, this swath of suburban Pennsylvania is a fast-growing section of the city. There are several suburban neighborhoods and villages that comprise East Shore/Central, and each of them provides just a little more space and peace and quiet than Downtown Harrisburg. The area is bisected by Interstate 81, making commutes into the city or any of the other neighboring communities easy.
There are many rentals options, as well as attractions and conveniences in the East Shore/Central area. Linglestown Road holds many residential areas and dining and shopping options. Colonial Park Mall is home to grocers and big-box stores as well. A commute into Downtown Harrisburg can range from 10 to 20 minutes depending on where you are, but the nearby highways make exploring the area a breeze.

Property Ratings at Beaufort Manor
Our day to move in We were told we had not paid our $600 non-refundable pet fee, when it in fact was paid, it took 3 people to look at the same document to figure out it was in fact paid. We almost thought we weren't going to have a place to live. We moved into our apartment with no working oven/stove. It took them almost 3 weeks to show up to fix it when the office was immediately notified it was not working and the office worker "texted" maintenance that it needed done. A few days after moving in we noticed bugs crawling everywhere, the entire building has a cockroach problem. We tried taking care of it ourselves with no luck, so we had to contact the office again about more MOVE IN problems. The pest control person randomly shows up to spray constantly(even just the hallways) and it SMELLS! They make you sign a part of your lease where they can gain entry at anytime when you're not home, to do whatever work they feel needs done. They do not contact you ahead of time either to give notice of people coming. The bathtub was poorly attempted to be fixed and left caulking that comes off when you clean the tub and ends up in your bath water. All the drains are clogged from the get go of moving in. There were attempts made to ask the upstairs neighbors to be quiet after quiet hours and the leasing office only offered the help of telling us to call the cops. I have no idea what else they have done IF ANYTHING to help with that problem because they are insanely loud EVERY SINGLE DAY AND NIGHT! I made several attempts to communicate with the office staff about having people randomly show up at our apartment and trying to gain entry while no one is home, and their response was as follows - "The lease does not require notice of our entry only that we leave something behind after the visit occurs." BEWARE OF WHAT YOUR SIGNING!! Especially when you have pets! Also, the monthly electric bill from the central AC and poor insulation/needed window & balcony fixes is over $150+ a month. They got almost $15k + $600 pet deposit in one year from us and the only "upgrades" they made to the entire building was to re-do the balconies (THEY PAINTED THEM).. AND they're raising rent!? 10/10 would not recommend.
Have lived here for 6 years. Management used to be very helpful and friendly. Now, they take no responsibility for anything. They just contracted out the laundry. Price went up and the dryer in our building doesn't work. Told me to complain to the contracted company. Water issues? Contact the water company. They've ended up downgrading the apartment from what I first had when I moved in, but rent keeps going up. Moving out in December at the end of the lease.
This place is infested with MICE. I live on the 3rd floor. I have had issues with ROACHES which they never really did anything about. I had to treat it myself. Then I started seeing mice in my appt. My daughter was frightened, couldn't sleep in her room. I called the office and I was told to get mice traps myself. In about a week I had caught 13 mice. I reported to the office again and the lady in the office had a maintenance guy come into my apt with 2 traps. That was a joke. No one even followed up to see if it caught anything. I talk to several neighbors and they all have MICE issues. One of my neighbors said she started seeing them in March 2018 and had reported to the office several times but nothing was done. I started seeing them in August 2018. Today is sept 24, 2018 and I have caught almost 22 MICE in a two bedroom appt. When I call the office the first time, the lady said they have been having this issue and also the maintenance man told me that he has set more than 20 traps in different apts. THIS MEANS THAT YOU HAVE AN INFESTATION. I told them in the office that this is a health issue and I will move out if nothing is being done about it, the lady in the office threatened that I will be responsible for the rest of the lease if I move out. My lease is up in 2 months and I'm moving out of this zoo.
I relocated to Harrisburg to accept a job promotion with my current Agency in November 2017 and considered a lot of properties before deciding to move here. The people in the rental office are friendly and helpful. Notices are received in a timely manner (if they have to enter your apartment for any reason) and if anything changes they will actually call you to let you know. I rent a 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom apartment on the ground floor and I love it. It's HUGE with tons of storage. There is a walk-in closet in the bedroom, another walk-in closet in the hallway, a linen closet in the hallway, two closets in the second bedroom and a closet/storage area in the hallway when you first walk into the apartment. There is sliding glass door with a patio and lots of light throughout the apartment. It was very clean when I moved in, fresh paint, new/clean carpeting, tile, etc. PROS: Close proximity to just about any store, mall, grocery store, or restaurant that you can imagine. Also close to downtown Harrisburg, I-83 and I-81. Anytime I submit a service request in the morning it is taken care of the same day and the service person leaves a note stating that they were there and what was completed. Parking is plentiful near my building and the grounds are always very clean. The people in my building are pretty nice. I can have packages laying in front of my door and no one touches them. CONS: No shelf in my freezer... :( I have to pile all of my stuff on top of each other and I feel like the grass can be cut a little more often. Pool revolves around the school schedule and is only open from noon to 8 pm. They did raise my rent $80/month after the first year, but that's not TOO bad. Unfortunately, if they raise it even more next year, I will probably have to move.
Stayed here for 2.5 years of nothing but constant rent dates changed getting hit with fees. The last few months of staying there our gas oven stove would leak and we mentioned it and they didnt do anything about they "checked" it out and everything was "fine". Then I ended up flipping out and we came home to a new oven stove. Then a month goes by and literally our ceiling falls down in the kitchen. They've been "fixing" it with just adding spackle and painting and it would crack the next day so we were patient with that then. We were on our process of getting our own place and asked if we could extend our lease for 9 days and they wacked us with a 500 dollar fee. Stay away people they have no decency for people very greedy people and are looking to screw you over at any given moment. STAY AWAY!!!!!
Yes Theresa was like she couldn't be bothered with our questions she's very unprofessional won't be renting from here
Teresa in the office is unprofessional. Over the phone she told me they only do applications on line, i was not aloud to come to the office and apply with my deposit. The following day she informed me that she gave the apartment to somebody that walked in the offfice and applied. Also, she was rude and disrespectful over the phone as if i was bothering her by my questions of inquiries of the facility. If thats how they run the place i'd like to thank her for deterring me from renting there.
So I've been living in my new apartment for 2 months at Beaufort Manor, and I absolutely love it. First things first: It's close to everything. I mean, EVERYTHING. Movie theaters, restaurants, grocery stores, auto mechanics, cable and electric, schools...EVERYTHING is within 5 minutes away. Secondly, I rented a 2-bedroom apartment. It's great; first of all it's super clean. No stains on the carpets, no scuff marks on the walls, and the kitchen was spotless. The master bedroom has a bathroom of its own and a walk-in closet, plus a TON of space. The second bedroom has two closets and enough space for my two children to share a bedroom. The living room is bigger than the one in my last apartment, and the kitchen is just the right size for washing dishes by hand (or using the included dishwasher), cooking, preparing, and having a place to put the groceries down on the counter. I even converted our hallway closet into an office because it's so big! Any time we've needed a hand from maintenance to fix something (clogged food disposal, broken plumbing, etc), maintenance is usually there within 24 hours. If you're not home, he'll let himself in, fix your issue, and leave a worksheet detailing what he's done. He leaves your apartment exactly in the condition you've left it, doesn't track mud, doesn't leave lights on. Truly an efficient and knowledgeable gentleman. The staff here are very nice, and work hard to keep the buildings clean. There are teams that weekly clean the hallways and stairwells in our buildings, and any time a staff member is traveling around the premises on a golf cart, if they see trash they will pick it up. The rent is very affordable and the leasing staff were very easy to work with. It's pet-friendly, and neighbors ARE friendly. The only complaint that I have about where I live (and it's just a "ugh I have to walk downstairs AND pay money" complaint), is that there are no washer-dryer units in the apartments (not sure about the townhouses but I have to assume they DO have them). They're downstairs on the first floor (basement?) and are coin-operated. There are only 2 washers and 2 dryers in my building, so we have to time our usage perfectly in order to finish all our laundry in one day. Silver lining: The laundry room also has additional storage space, one walk-in locker (you provide your own lock) designated for your apartment where you can store extra stuff you don't have room for.
