Property Ratings at Bel Air Court
They do not disclose the fact you have to be 21+ in age to rent here. I booked a tour here just to waste my time and be told at the end of it all that I can’t rent since I am NOT 21. I gave this apartment a chance due to its low renting cost. But the apartments themselves are bad in conditions. There are bugs, windows can’t open properly, lack of insulation (condensation in between window show that), stains on carpets and walls, no up keeping or upgrades (the washing machine smelled HORRID), holes in ceiling and hardwood floor in kitchen and bathroom, etc. I was excited to rent at their prices, but due to their age limit I was frustrated they didn’t disclose that beforehand or even in their listing. I even talked to a few tenants that said they’re under 21 of age so I was just so so so mad I couldn’t live here even though people under 21 are living here.
I’ve lived at bel air for about 7 months now. I love my apartment! For the price you cannot get better. Although moving in was a little bit of a process I’m glad I was head strong about moving in here. Communication is not the best. I had to repeatedly call to check if I had been accepted to move in or not & then they told me they would have to “double check” if I met the new requirements because they were in the process of changing them (credit score & income had to be higher) but after repeatedly calling and basically begging for someone to communicate with me we were good to move in and did just that. We do plan on staying here after our lease is up and hopefully will get into a 2 bedroom. Bel air is great if your moving out for the first time like myself! The price of these apartments is literally un heard of these days which makes me love it even more because my apartment is great and definitely feels like home. The first time I paid rent they did loose my check but luckily it was a cashier check & not a money order. I was very understanding and they gave me the info to pay online. I do recommend moving in here! We’ve never had problems with our neighbors or the complex itself.
I lived here for 1 year but had to move out due to bedbugs! They didn't return my security deposit. Worse than the infestation is that they blame you for the bedbugs and make you pay for the treatment of yours and all neighboring apartments - an exorbitant $2500.00+. One of the 70+ pages of the lease agreement they make you sign has a clause that they can hold you responsible for any infestation. Please make sure you know what you are signing if you decide to move here. Also, check the apartments thoroughly for any infestation else you will end up paying thousands of dollars. They also make purchase renters insurance. The management staff is very rude and ignore you every time you step into the leasing office.
I lived here for 4+ years, kept everything clean with nothing broken. They still kept my $250 security deposit and when I wanted to know what I was charged for they said I signed it in the contract that it is not refundable, and it will be used for painting, carpet cleaning and stuffs. I mean, who does that? It's called SECURITY DEPOSIT for a reason, I would understand if they are charging me for something broken. They should as well call it a FEE, not a security deposit, so we know in advance and won't expect it to be refundable at the end of the lease.
We have been waiting to move into our new apartment. Every time we call in they state that more repairs are needed. We were supposed to move in on April 24th, then it got changed to may 6th, and now its May 11th. The level of organized is sad.
These people are scammers. My friend rents an apartment here and they said they "lost" the money order with which she paid her rent. In addition the apartment has exposed wiring in the kitchen and a leaking bathroom sink that the landlord refuses to fix. Not recommended.
Wish I would give zero stars . If you want one of their maintaince men to look through your belongings and take your things this then is the place for you . Hopefully you have a home camera like I did to catch them . I tried to resolve the matter and ask for one month free rent ! But patsy the manager ignored me after she said she was going to take care of things . I submitted a maintaince request for a sink that wouldn’t drain and I waited over a month and over 4 emails to get them to fix it and when they did the maintaince man stole my stuff on camera. I had a standing water in my tub for months and had to fix it myself . Taking the to small claims tomorrow . They messed with the wrong guy . They are rude and unprofessional .
I gave one star simply because the price for the amount of space is good, and they responded to maintenance requests promptly. Otherwise, my score would be zero. That being said, do not move here if you hope to have your rent history shared with any future apartments. They will not release payment history to any future leasing office and not even to you, the lease holder. They use this tactic to try to prevent people from leaving, and it's very shady. Do not move here if you plan on having visitors from other states. My boyfriend's car on his first visit someone went through his vehicle. Third visit someone stole two entire wheels off the car. They do nothing about loud and inconsiderate neighbors. They will charge you when you move out for issues with the apartment that existed when you moved in. They advertise on their fliers that they have a hot tub by the pool, but it's been broken for years. They are disorganized at times, like I requested a garage, they said they would get back to me and then never did until I asked them about it months later. They had someone come to my apartment about bed bugs but I never requested pest control (but that should also be a red flag). I would never recommend this place ever unless you are severely desperate and out of options.
we've lived in two apartments here. Usually a pretty quite place and no problems with neighbors depending on where you live. The staff was much more helpful in our first apartment. But we moved to a bigger apartment which happens to be above one of the employees. we have had problems ever since. We have also had all of our vehicles broken into, which I'm not surprised being in an apartment community, but no one seemed to actually care or do anything about it. This isn't a terrible place to live, it's quite and most of the staff is awesome. But slow to respond as of late. Be sure to keep tabs on vehicles and if possible request to not live around an employee.
THEY HAVE A VERY GOOD MAINTENANCE STAFF. THEY HELP ME A LOT AS I AM HANDICAPPED.
Area is very quiet. The staff in the rental office is nice. Apartments are a little pricey. I like the space.
I've just moved into Bel Air Court apartments June 25, 2015. So far, I don't have any complaints. They appear to be friendly and approachable if I have a question or concern. I'm really happy with my apartment. The area is quiet and my porch view is beautiful!!! I definitely feel I'm getting what I paid for!!
