Property Ratings at Bell Terminus
I am truly disappointed in this property. I stopped by today July 14 for a tour at 11am. But the apartment I was interested in had just been applied for. The next option she, Brittany, said was a 919 sq ft 1 bedroom apartment not available until end of September. She told me to complete an application, gave me the unit number and everything and I’ll be good to go. So I left, went to check into my hotel like under half a mile away, and completed the application. I paid a $125 application fee then called to make sure the application was received. When I called Brittany told me someone else applied of the unit and it’s first come, first serve. And I’m like how? I just came by. You can’t do applications on site anymore. But why would you tell me to apply if there was no way to reserve the apartment for me. Then i asked for a refund. She said she couldn’t process one and I said no way! I didn’t elect to donate anything to your company and that’s completely unfair. She transferred me to a manager. I spoke to the property manager and he agreed to give me a refund saying they can’t hold a unit just because someone comes by and expresses interest. I told him that’s not true at all. Once I was given the unit number and told you I was interested, the unit should have been off the market.
Shortly after the new management team took over, they forced us to use a "reputable" (1.5 star on Google) delivery service Fetch so they didnt have to handle the packages themselves. It took Fetch days to notify me a package is ready to schedule a delivery. And they are constantly late or simply not show up during the scheduled delivery window. Their customer support is non-existent -- no phone or live chat, only a useless chatbot to open a ticket for you and you're under their mercy to decide when to reply you. They messed up so many times that instead of the excitement i'm always under stress when expecting a package. When i brought up my experience to the management team, they simply dismissed my problem, claiming "it it a reputable service", "you're the only one". And ultimately stated that it none of their business. Yeah they forced Fetch on me but it's my problem to handle it. STAY AWAY, they dont care about the residents, they only want to milk money from you and shut you up.
My HVAC went out on November 7th, 2021. It has been 70 days, or two and a half months since the time of this review that I have asked Bell Terminus time and time again to please fix my HVAC. All they do is give excuses about delays and have not made this a priority. We just went through a snow storm and they expect a little heater to heat up my entire apartment? They essentially put a band-aid on the issue and moved on. It's insulting. These are not safe living conditions and Bell Terminus has not cared at all to fix my situation. STAY AWAY.
My husband and I actually lived in three different units within Berkshire Terminus--it was an amazing place to live in the beginning. Then incidents started occurring, such as someone attempting to pry open our door with a crowbar while we were on vacation, our new patio furniture getting holes burnt into it (numerous times) from the tenants above us, vomit covered in dollar bills in the hallway...the list goes on. We started looking for a new place to live when our neighbors showed us photos of the homeless person living in the storage closet with direct access to the tenants' front doors. The tipping point was when management tested the fire alarms for hours, failing to notify the tenants in time to remove our pets. Having experienced these alarms first-hand, I can only imagine the permanent hearing damage my pet has suffered due to management's willful negligence. You could hear the dogs in distress throughout the building when I ran in to retrieve mine; it was horrific. But it didn't stop there. 8 days prior to our lease ending, we entered our apartment to find that someone had intruded into our home, stealing our belongings. The perfect end to our 3 year relationship with Berkshire Terminus. Management located our belongings in black trash bags within the apartment complex's storage room--meaning an employee had broken into our home and had stolen our possessions. The lower rent cost and free parking may seem attractive, but trust us and choose anywhere else to live!
The only good thing about this complex is the great location in Buckhead and close to the Marta station. After that, the complex is not well kept. It's always dirty. The elevators are dirty and smell so bad. All type of waste remain there for days. The garage doors are always broken and all type of people including homeless people hang in the apartment common areas. The front entrance door is often broken and anyone can push their way into. There's a reason why the prices of this complex are competitive compared to smaller apartment in Buckhead areas, it is because people are always running away from it. I lived there for 3 years and it went from bad to worst. Forget about using the barbecue grills, they are always broken and there are many cockroaches all over the grill. The pool is always closed even in the middle of summer. If you like cleanness, smart and courteous management office, safe place to live, please STAY AWAY from this place. The leasing agents and manager are all terrible.
I am very financially responsible and I don’t have any late or missed nor collections in my credit history. Prior to moving out of Berkshire Terminus I paid my account in full before transferring to another Berkshire community. Two years into my stay at a sister community I get a call from collections. My heart dropped because I take care of all my responsibilities. I had to dig up proof of a paid 0$ balance 2 years after move out. SO IF YOU STAY HERE AND MOVE KEEP RECORDS OF BALANCES AND PAYMENTS AND FINAL MOVE OUT STATEMENTS BECAUSE THEY WILL REPORT FALSE DEBT TO COLLECTIONS!
Lived in the Apartment 2 years ago. I have moved around quite a bit in my career and understand leases inside and out. When I left the apartment I sat with the manager, paid everything on my account, did a full walk through and was good to go. Two years later I get a call from a collection agency saying I owed money?! I consider myself pretty level headed and reasonable and all about doing the right things by people. I wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt, so I called just to get clarification and was told it was $90. I asked why they wouldn’t have called or emailed me before sending to collections and they had no answer. I also asked why they think it’s right to wait two years after, especially when we are only speaking about $90, but they said there was still money owed. I explained I closed everything out prior to leaving and wanted to speak to the head of the apartment complex and the comment was made, “you can try calling, but he won’t be available”. Are you serious.... As stated before all about doing the right things by people, but obviously this apartment complex would rather screw you without notice. And when you don’t do what’s right by people you get scathing reviews like this. There are tons of apartments in Atlanta, you can find tons of them that would be upfront and honest.
Besides the fact that several drug dealers live in the building, there was a SHOOTING on my floor a few nights ago. The garage doors were broken and left open, I'm sure this attributed to the shooting. The fob system in the elevators does not and has never worked so anyone can get in if the garage door is open. The elevator has been broken for 5 days. My neighbor found a drunk HOMELESS MAN covered in vomit sleeping under the stairwell. Everyone is moving out, including me in 5 days! This place is unsafe, inconvenient, and the staff is rude. Nothing ever works. $2,000 a month is not worth it.
My wife and I have lived at Berkshire Terminus since the beginning of the year. We moved in while construction was ongoing in our building. Berkshire bought the property a couple of months after we moved in and changed management. We like several things about the community but the new management is what makes the biggest difference for us. We were not satisfied prior to Berkshire owning and managing the property. In addition to new more professional and competent management, the property has experienced many other significant improvements. Some of the other recent enhancements at the property are as follows: • A security firm has been engaged to create a safer community • Quicker response time to important issues and work orders • More friendly staff • Much cleaner property • New dog waste stations • New community standards • New screening standards for prospective residents • New social events • Improved housekeeping and maintenance of the common areas • Improved communication with residents There were many construction issues affecting the residents early on at Terminus. However, construction is now coming to an end and the quality of the community is steadily increasing. It is evident through the steady community improvements that Berkshire is committed to owning and managing the property to high quality standard.
3 of my neighbors are in the process of moving out and I can't wait until it's my turn! I will say Evan at concierge is awesome and so is the man ahead of maintenance. The rest of the staff is rude/lazy. Gates to parking deck always broken or open for anyone to walk in, trash is never picked up on time, the common areas would be nice if they were ever clean, coffee machines never work, hallways always filled with random people and marijuana (make of that what you will). Plus this isn't a good location. You're at the corner of the busiest intersection in ATL. So if you want to go anywhere in the mornings, lunch time, or after work be prepared to be stuck in traffic for a while before even exiting the complex. I pay $1800 for a TINY apt that is terribly managed.
