Thank you for sharing your experience, James. We're thrilled to hear that the Bella Mar Apartments staff were able to accommodate your needs and provide a friendly service. It's also great to know that you found our apartments spacious. We appreciate your positive feedback!
Where do I start? The office staff is so hot and cold. I’m not sure if I’m going to be met with someone experienced and rude or inexperienced and lost. I’m assuming the property manager is new to this profession because he has very poor people skills. They make mistakes and try to cover their tracks instead of taking accountability. There’s a roach problem. I spent about $40 just on pest control (spray, bombs, roach motels, boric acid) upon move in. But there’s clearly an infestation they aren’t treating. Communication is painful. It’s like pulling teeth getting a prompt answer or a straight one for that matter. Don’t try to call them on the mistakes they make (no matter how respectful you are) they will make it seem as though you are the problem. I wish I never came here it’s been a few months and not one thing has turned out positive.

We're genuinely sorry to hear about your experience. It's our priority at Bella Mar Apartments to offer professional and efficient service to all our residents, and we regret if you felt this was not the case. We understand regarding the pest control and we have contracted a new pest control company who is doing a much better job than the last company. We apologize for the confusion from our staff as some of them are still in training and learning our company policies and doing their very best. We would appreciate the opportunity to talk with you offline. Please contact our property manager, Maritza at 813-444-5224 or bellamarmgr@rmi-florida.com at your convenience. Thank you.
Property manager is unprofessional and rude. Whole complex looks as if the least amount is being spent to maintain the property. Notice how they don’t show pictures of the property and only the front of one newly painted building?

Been asking for almost 3 months for maintenance to come fix my a/c and no one showed up went to the office multiple times and called still haven't came Please Don't move here Currently looking to move as soon a possible as a/c not working
I currently live here, pay my rent on time, and don't cause problems... my roof has been leaking for months, there's a hole under my front door where the roaches just walk in, and now half of my apartment has little to no power. There is never any answer on the emergency maintenance number and ROBERT the office "manager" never follows up or fixes what he says he will. I now have to drive all the way to downtown Tampa to pay my rent to the courthouse in hopes they'll fix all these issues. I'm sure I'll be breaking the lease very soon...
I moved into these apartments less than a month ago , my main complaint is the fact that the ac is not cooling my apartment off the way it should. These apartments are very old and I understand that but I'm sure no one in that office goes home to their place and the thermostat is set at 72 degrees but the temperature is actually 85 degrees. This is really ridiculous I have been complaining since the day I moved in, the only solution they can up with is to buy ceiling fans no that's not going to do anything but run my electric bill up. I have never had to deal with a company like this half the time they don't answer their phones you have to walk to the office. The corporate office don't answer their phone either even after you leave messages they don't return your call. I wanted to give this place the benefit of doubt but dealing with this wow...Oh also the dumpster on my side is always over flown although I have to give it to the ground people their always out there cleaning other people crap. I guess I can't blame that on the complex , their are just lazy and nasty people in the world. I would not recommend this place to anyone because their not right.
Based on these reviews I would never move here. And the leasing agents are very rude in this complex. I see why there are constant changes.
What they don't say are that the roofs are not heat coated so if they rent you a second floor apartment the bill will be $150-300 monthly. The rental office is aware but will not accommodate you or allow you to move out...its a TRAP
In short: This is sub par housing in a crime ridden area. You will not get your security deposit back, your apartment will be flooded, you will be harassed by security, and your belongings will not be safe. I had the unfortunate experience of living here for 7 months from May to December 2016. First of all, the area. There are literally gunshot detectors lining 15th street. This is a high crime area to say the least. Expect broken glass in the parking lot, shopping carts flipped over on the side of the street, and to be woken up in the middle of the night by yelling or police sirens. When moving in I had an immediate roach problem and it took nearly 2 weeks to get pest control to spray. Maintenance staff are difficult to get a hold of. They also apparently think its acceptable to open your door with a master key and walk right into your apartment! The "security" staff aren't much better. I was once yelled at for "loitering" in the parking lot after picking up some groceries. The office staff seem to be completely changed every few months. This makes it impossible the follow up with issues because the new staff don't know you or what you came in last time for. Issues in billing or even maintenance can take weeks and even months to resolve. If you actually get anything sorted out consider yourself lucky. Ive been waiting 8 MONTHS for my security deposit. I called the office and followed up multiple times in person, then they told me to call corporate. I still haven't gotten a response from the accountant that was suppose to handle my situation. Worst of all, was the flooding situation. The water heater belonging to the apartment above me broke and my downstairs apartment was flooded with 5 inches of water. After contacting the office multiple times that day I literally had to drag the office lady out to my apartment before she could wrap her head around the words "MY APARTMENT IS FLOODED". She told me to rent a hotel room for the night and bella mar would reimburse me the amount on the receipt. I haven't seen a dime and that was 10 months ago. Even after the flooding was fixed, for weeks there was a slow leak from the above floor. The apartment was always humid and the carpet remained soaked. The fans they put in to dry the carpet ran for over a week and ran up my electric bill. The walls remained soft and wet for some time. The apartment continued to smell like chlorine till the day I moved out.

If you want the worst living experience ever then this is the place for you! Management constantly changes, security are a waste of money since they literally do nothing, and people are always outside watching you. Very unsafe, very dirty, and bar none worst management ever.... Steer wayyyy clear of this place

If you are new to Tampa like I was when I moved in here, just know this is a bad area. Gun shots and fights all the time. Trash everywhere, management changes all the time, people just don't care here. Seems to have a lot of traffic in and out, so people that don't even have to live here are messing the place up. Interesting that all this happens and I still get interrogated by the "security" if I walk to my mailbox at night.. My windows were smashed randomly, as were the other people's on the bottom floor of my building. Have had to call the cops because a man was pounding on the door cussing at me telling me to let him in, and I have no idea who it could have been. I think the new management comes in with the intention to make things better but it is impossible and they give up and act constantly frustrated. Recently, they painted the outsides black and grey so it is fit to look like the prison it should be. I realize most people only bother to leave reviews if they had a bad experience, but if you could find one person who had a nice experience here (that is not obviously the company leaving itself good reviews) I would be shocked. If you have to move here, I'm sorry.
THERE IS A HORRIBLE ROACH INFESTATION. No matter how hard we tried we could not get rid of them. they live in the walls because nothing is sealed. The management is incredibly unorganized. There were two different statements in our lease one saying we didn't have to pay water and one saying we did. Now, after 8 months of living here, they are trying to charge us water for 8 months even though every time I talked to them they said I didn't have to pay water. Their idea of "renovated" is a think layer of white spray paint over everything including the tiles in the shower. Also, the plumbing has not been updated since the place was built in the 70's and things are constantly leaking and causing us to pay more water WHICH WE SHOULD NOT EVEN BE PAYING FOR. I cannot wait to move out. The "washing facility" has no air conditioning and is absolutely disgusting. I don't think the washers and dryers even get washed seeing as how it took them two weeks to come fix a hot water leak in my bathroom that was causing a $300 electric bill. I only moved in because literally nothing else was available for my budget.
Do not live here. This place will be your worst nightmare. Management tends to switch every 2 months, and do not communicate with each other. When we moved in, the stove was broken and it took them 2 months to replace it. We had our entire apartment flood after maintenance tried to fix a clog the upstairs neighbors caused, and be uninhabitable for 2 days, which is illegal. We had to clean it ourselves. A credit was supposed to be applied towards our account but low and behold, management switched right after that and now they are trying to charge! There are bugs everywhere and frequent crimes. You see at least one cop and ambulance a day here. The place now smells like sewage because of all these issues they are "fixing." The pool is locked most of the time, I moved here in July and the pool was locked from August up until April. The washer and dryers don't work most of the time, so don't waste your money. The parking lot is full of holes and glass. The dumpsters are frequently overflowing and smell disgusting. Also, don't let them fool you by saying there is security. This new "team" they have is out maybe 2 or 3 times a week. Save yourself the trouble and just don't bother. If anyone wants to band together to go to the news about this apartment complex, please let me know. This place needs to be shut down.
Save yourself the headache and don't live here. I myself am a very open minded person and ignored all the reviews I saw online of this place, but I wish with every fiber of my being I had never tried so hard to rent out with these extremely unprofessional individuals. Every encounter I had with the leasing consultants/agents in the office was complete confrontational on their end of the conversation. They would answer my questions extremely defensively for no reason and would make rude remarks about residents after they left the leasing office in front of other residents (Cannot image what they say about me). No call backs. No responses. Ever. Even when you're trying to lease and sign paper work with them. The only way they would talk to me is if I went into the office myself. They don't reply to emails what-so-ever and care little of you even when you're trying to tour with them. The real reason I decided to write this review all together is to save a person the hardship I went through. Due to this apartment complex my health has been compromised (mostly due to second hand smoke as well as third hand smoke caused by residue in all parts of the apartment - thanks to there neglect and lack of initiative to provide a decent apartment). If you have any respiratory health conditions do not rent here there are cigarette butts everywhere. Tip: If a place you rented with knew what customer service was they would have handled the cigarette infested apartment prior to your move in. Having to use a ozone after you've moved in is a big sign of lack the care to provide you a product worth paying for.
