Yorktown is a historic community on the west bank of the York River, directly north of Newport News. Positioned right next door to Yorktown Naval Weapons Training and just up the road from a U.S. Coast Guard Training Center, Yorktown is a popular place for military personnel seeking off-base living arrangements. Families love the combination of affordable rental rates, low crime, and excellent public schools.
Yorktown Battlefield is the area’s biggest claim to fame, the historic site of Cornwallis’ surrender to George Washington at the end of the Revolutionary War; the site is also part of Virginia’s Historic Triangle, which also includes the nearby Jamestown and Williamsburg settlements. Virginia Beach is only a few minutes away by car, allowing you to hop down to the coast anytime.

Property Ratings at Belmont at York
There is ducks all over the property defecating everywhere you walk which attracts flying nats in your face as soon as you walk out your door. The cobwebs are insane they are on your front door daily on the stairs and frequently on peoples cars . The staff is rude and condescending. Mold grows everywhere . You can never find any parking in front of your. Apartment . There are roaches everywhere . Keep looking elsewhere cause this place sucks
This place is NOT CLEAN AT ALL...the grounds or maintenance crew responsible for keeping the appearance of this place clean is doing ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. There are spider webs and spiders all over this place. You can't get into your door without having to clean away spider webs and going up the stairs. It looks abandon and creepy. There's nowhere you can look and NOT see them. THE OWNERS OF THIS PLACE NEED TO SERIOUSLY THINK ABOUT REPLACING THE WORKERS WHO IS NOT DOING THEIR JOBS.
The scenery around the complex is very nice. There is a lake and at night it's absolutely beautiful. However if you have an issue maintenance takes their time to get the job job done. They come whenever and are not so friendly. The don't don't keep the stairs clear. There are sooooo many spider webs it's ridiculous. I am terrified of spiders and I always find myself outside with a broom trying to remove spider webs and kill spiders. It took them a week to come out and see what was wrong with our washer. But other than maintenance issues the apartment itself is nice.
I've stayed here over a year. So far I really like it. I'll start with the bad. Lots of spiders outside. Spider webs kinda kill the outside for me. I hate spiders. Aesthetically kinda sucks. Just outside. Inside I don't have a pest issue. Now for the good. I'll start outside. The pond/lake is very cool. I've fished it several times. It's very relaxing to do after work. I have zero complaints inside my apartment. Had a microwave go bad, and it was fixed promptly. The staff is very nice. I feel safe here. Parking is not an issue. Neighbors are nice. I really have no complaints other than spiders. But that's anywhere around here really. I just wish they'd clean the webs more frequent.
I moved here from Alabama and of course the cost of living is much higher. I think its just too much for rent. The master bedroom is pretty big but the rest of the apartment just seems to run together. Not enough space in my opinion. Kitchen space could be a little bigger. Patio area has extra storage which is a plus. Washer and dryer are included. But they do throw little parties to give back a little, so I guess that's a good thing.
I lived in this complex 10 years ago. At that time, the Coporate Office was great, Now, not so much. Through unfortunate events, I was laid off. I lost my apartment through eviction and had a very tough summer. Instead of being irresponsible, I wanted to pay my debtors when I got back on my feet. I filed a Chapter 13. This company never responded or showed up in court to file their claim for what I owed them. Fast forward years later. I have referred several tenants to this specific property. I never applied for the referal fee. I did it becaus, I knew it to be a great place to live. Recently, I referred my sister. She thought it would be nice to let them know that I referred her. They now refuse to pay the referal fee, because "I owe the company money"even though THEY failed to conduct business properly, and ten years later refuse to stand by the word. I refuse to send one more possible tenant to this organization.
