If you love baseball — particularly if you love the Chicago Cubs — there's only one neighborhood for you: Lakeview! Bordering Lake Michigan on the north side of Chicago directly above Lincoln Park, Lakeview houses one of Chicago’s most popular destinations: Wrigley Field. Originally built in 1914 for Federal League’s Chicago Whales, Wrigley Field is one the oldest still-operating stadiums in the MLB. It was renamed Wrigley Field in 1926 by then-owner William Wrigley Jr., a chewing gum manufacturer.
Of course, there's more to Lakeview than baseball. From the luxury high-rise apartments along Lake Shore Drive to the tree-filled streets and single-family homes in Graceland West, there's something for everyone in Lakeview. This large neighborhood consists of several smaller enclaves, including Wrigleyville, Boystown, and North Halsted. Lakeview features several theaters, such as the Music Box Theater and the Playground Theater, as well as music venues and shops.

Property Ratings at Belmont Tower Apartments
The staff is great but the management is terrible. I live here for 3 years but ever since I moved in, I was disturbed by the neighbor who shares a wall with me. The wall is very thin, I can hear all sorts of noise from the next door. I complained to the management numerous times, no one can do anything about it. I end up moving my bed to the living room so I can sleep. By the way, the management raises the rent every year by $50 per month.
The apartment units are updated and appear very nice, but everything is installed/made cheaply. The kitchen cabinets, bathroom racks, and kitchen sink handles fall off on a regular basis. I am a very clean person, but I continue to have bugs in my apartment. I have sprayed my unit to get rid of the bugs, but they seem to be inevitable. I have reached out to the staff for assistance several times without a response. There is also always a smoke smell in my unit coming from others on my floor smoking indoors (not allowed). It comes in from the windows, vents, and hallway. I have reached out to the staff for assistance several times and do not get a response on this issue either. Overall, I would definitely not recommend Belmont Tower.
No issues with the apparrment. The building is old and was built in the 70s as affordable housing. 250 units with a small laundry room, most of the time half of the machines do not work. Management does not care about retaining tenants that are invested in having a safe and clean living environment. So don't be surprised if the 5 roommates living in the apartment next to you have a party and end up vomiting or urinating under your door. Don't be shocked if your unit smells like weed because people smoke in the stairwell and later decide to sleep there. But hey location is great!
Property Manager at Belmont Tower Apartments, Responded To This Review
Good morning. You are correct, Belmont Tower is located in a great neighborhood and with all the recent upgrades over the last year and a half the building has improved tremendously in terms of the physical property as well as in staff performance. At BTA, Management takes pride in providing outstanding service to all residents and guests. We are sorry to hear of the poor experience you had. We encourage residents to notify staff of issues like the ones you stated in your memo, so that we may address them immediately. It sounds like this was an isolated incident and we are confident issues like these will be prevented going forward. Something to note about BTA is that we have maintenance on site 7 days a week from 7:30 AM - 10:00 PM. We also have security on site 5 days a week and we are in the process of adding a Doorman to the BTA staff. By having staff/security on site throughout the day and into the evening, the property is well monitored, which prevents unwanted guests or disturbances at BTA. If you are still a BTA resident, we encourage you to stop by the management office to let us know of your concerns and/or suggestions, or to just stop by and say "Hello." Again, Management is diligent about responding to all concerns and should we have known about the issue(s) you experienced, we would have done everything in our power to remedy the situation. We have an open door policy. Thank you for your note and for your time, Management.
My sister lived in this building for a year with a different roommate before I moved in, and we don't ever want to move! Our apartment is HUGE and the price is incredible for Lakeview East. We both bought large bedroom furniture and we have so much floor space in each of our rooms. Our kitchen is set up a little weird with only so much counter space but we've been in other apartments and they're set up a little differently, so it really depends on the apartment. If something needs to get fixed, a quick email and the guys come as soon as they can - they snake our drain once a month -usually during the same day we request. It's also great that there's full time office workers too so you can always stop in there if you need anything. Downsides: laundry room - currently only 5 washers are working - and with 24 floors of apartments it can be difficult if you go at a busy hour but they're promising to fix them soon. No central air - each apartment comes with 2 units and we have ours in our rooms- we can cool the whole apartment if we open our bedroom doors though. Best part: parking!!! on site!!! and only 95 bucks even for the covered spots. Cannot beat that in Lakeview! Other best part: Half a block to all the buses that go into the city and half a mile or so to the train. Cannot beat the location!
Location is everything in the city of Chicago I give the building 5 stars for placement and 3 for the actual living space. Walk just one block East from the front steps and you hit Belmont Harbor and the Lakeshore running path, one block in the other direction and you'll discover unique restaurants and fun bars. Perfect location for the work commute downtown. Just hop on the express bus and you're on Michigan Ave within 10 minutes! The building itself is old, but well kept. White walls and tan carpet..fairly "vanilla", but your personal decor can go a long way. No modern appliances and minimal amenities... The upper floors have awesome views looking south at the city skyline!
