Property Ratings at Bennington Hills Apartments
Expensive. Treats those who actually pay rent terrible. Willing to let individuals in community live rent free, without ever getting payment down to zero monthly. Terrible communication regarding updates
I’ve lived here for 10 + years, so there are obviously some good qualities to this development, but as time has passed it has really gone down hill. There are 2 maintenance guys, one who has no idea what he’s doing and the other who walks around with a clipboard and does nothing. The office staff is incompetent and I’m reliable. They have messed up my rent countless times and have no idea whst they are doing. As far as the actual apartments, they are big, but outdated. My cabinets have been peeling off for years and they won’t replace them, yet they keep raising my rent each year. There is a beautiful pool that is never open. Their excuse is they can’t get lifeguards ur something is broken. I see they advertise it though on the website. This could be a great place to live, but changes need to be made.
Just one look at their disorganized leasing office, and you will know all you need to know about Bennington Hills. It's extremely gross, cluttered, and dirty. Their entire operation is just as disjointed, nonsensical, and yucky as the vibe you'll receive as you walk into the leasing office. There are tenants speeding through the complex like lunatics, as well. It seems like a good place to live if you are one who thrives in filth, crust, and chaos. If you prefer cleanliness, peace, and calm: look elsewhere.
I have nothing but wonderful things to say about my experience at Bennington Hills! The apartments are a really good size and the area is quite nice, especially for the money. However, the best part about Bennington Hills is the staff. Katie and Rachael go above and beyond to do whatever they can to make their residents happy. Before I signed the lease, they helped me switch to a different apartment with a sooner move in date that better fit my needs and saved me from a logistical nightmare. Also, every month they host different events and activities for their residents - Easter egg hunts, Thanksgiving dinners, and countless other free-food events are just a few examples. I think they do a wonderful job of making Bennington Hills feel more like a welcoming community rather than just an apartment complex, which probably explains why so many families feel comfortable raising their children there. I also had an amazing experience with the maintenance staff. I had a particular incident where at 1AM my bathroom floor had started developing a puddle of water (from what was later discovered to be a crack in the bathtub upstairs). I called the emergency hotline, and Todd showed up within 15 minutes to help cleanup the water and find the leak. Even after all of his hard work, he politely declined the tip that I offered him, which I believe is a true testament to his character. Overall, I was very happy with my experience at Bennington Hills and I would've happily stayed there again had I not needed to relocate.

The apartment is outdated in the bathrooms and kitchen. Property manager is rude.

Thanks for bringing this to our attention. We’re eager to look into this and address all of your concerns. Please give the office a call at your earliest convenience.
First of all the office staff are very patient and kind. Second the maintenance team starting with Tom goes beyond to help with any issues. The icing on the cake is my beautiful apartment. I love it and feel very safe. There is a warmth about it. I'll be here a long time!

This is really a great place to live. Katie and Vanessa are a great team very helpful and understanding. It’s about to be a year in February I’ve resigned my lease very nice apartment and if something is not working in the apartment it’s a quick response to get it taken care of.

We appreciate your five-star rating of Bennington Hills! Thank you for taking a moment to compliment the friendly customer service that sets our community apart from the rest. Your feedback motivates us in our continued efforts to create an exceptional living experience for our residents.
I lived in Bennington Hills for a year from 2016 to 2017. Every friend of mine from other states have always commented on how beautiful the community is and how big the apartments are. The 2 bedroom apartment we were in was big enough for 5 people to live in without any problems. Katie would greet us every time we met and there was always a club party for the tenants in the club house during spring/summer months. There was enough space to park our car and we had no issues at all during the one year we lived there. The only issue we had as students was the electricity bill which came around $200 sometimes in the winter. But since we all as roommates shared the cost, it wasn't that big an amount. I'm writing this review now because I'm looking for an apartment in 2019 in another state and I still keep comparing all the apartments that I'm looking at with Bennington. I will probably never find one like it in the same budget range. The only reason I moved out was because RTS had stopped bus services to Bennington back in 2017. We would have extended our lease otherwise. I'd have definitely moved back to Bennington again if I had gotten a job in Rochester.

Thanks so much! At Bennington Hills, we strive to cultivate a top-notch living experience for our residents, and we truly appreciate your compliments. We are sorry to hear they discontinued bus service to Bennington. If you ever move back to the area and need an apartment, please keep us in mind. Best of luck with your apartment search!
Staff is extremely unorganized and are rude beyond belief. Not worth your time or money to live here. Wish I never signed this lease
I live at Bennington Hills for 2 yrs now and part of my garage cealing had falling down and when I reported it that day; Christ and Tom from maintenance fixed it the same day and did a professional Job and I didnt have to move my stuff out of the garage. Thank you so much . From Carol Thompson.
we have been living here in our first apartment for over a month and we really appreciate Bennington hills. We came out to Rochester NY to attend college and start our lives and Bennington hills is in a perfect location. It's a little pricey for us but it's worth it because of location and amenities and it's a safe place. We will be here until August of 2016 then we'll decide if we're getting a different place or staying here!
With our ups and downs in our moving arrangements, we found this solid great looking apartment complex. For a great price per month we moved in wholeheartedly. We received a beautiful 3 bedroom apartment with brand new carpeting and new appliances. But with all that is great of this place flaws are to come as well. Knicks were made throughout the home by the previous owner had made. Missing electrical outlets and dirty windows were found as well. However we received free painting and cleaning service in our package which really helped fix the place up. All in all the apartment is a cozy home for the three of us that I would recommend to most anyone who is looking for a 3 bedroom.
After eleven years of living at Bennington Hills, I don’t feel like a renter; It's more like I’m living in my own home. The apartment complex, about 190 units, has great amenities--a super exercise room with a sauna, and a pool for the summer months. There's plenty of walking space between the units and pleasant grassy areas surrounding the complex. The staff of helpful, youthful people can't seem to do enough for the tenants to make their lives here pleasant. My 950-square foot apartment has two bedrooms, two full baths, a dining room, kitchen and living room. The apartment came fully loaded with a refrigerator, stove, microwave, dishwasher, garbage disposal, AC, and a large hot water boiler. There’s space for a washer/dryer. A nice size entryway is large enough for me to get inside and get my shoes off so I don’t drag dirt or snow into the living space from outside. Off of the entry is a coat closet and a good size pantry. The open floor plan gives the galley kitchen, dining and living rooms a spacious feeling. I like the large windows that bring in plenty of light even on dreary winter days. The 6' x 8' patio just off the dining area means easy access to an outdoor seating area. Both bedrooms are large enough for a king-sized bed and each has a walk-in closet. And, the full-sized bathrooms are comfortable. I like the large mirrors, usable vanities and great linen closet in the master. Apartment dimensions: 950 sq.ft.; MB 14' x 11.5'; GBR 12' x 17' (incl GWi); LR 13.5' x 12'; DR 10' x 10'; K 9' x 8'; Ent. 7' x 3.8'; Pty 4' x 5'; CC 3' x 6'; MWi 7' x 6'; GWi 4' x 5'; MBR 7.75' x 8'; GBR 8' x 8.5'; LC 21" x 31". (all meas. approx.).
Bennington Hills is a beautiful place to live. Neatly tucked away in a communal haven that is well maintained by an attentive management. Spacious, clean apartments that feature "New England style decor" that have lovely patios (or balconies if upper) attached that lead into sprawling lawns. They boast amenities exclusively for the use of its residents that include a pool with a large deck that hosts annual barbecues, a lounge within the clubhouse in which its residents can relax and serve as gathering areas for the get-togethers the complex holds, a 24-hour gym, and 24-hour laundry facilities for all if the resident chooses an apartment without washer/dryer hookups. It is the ideal place to live if safety and a tranquil environment are priorities.
I live in this apartment about 10 years. It's very nice neighbor, safety and good atmospheric. Apartment's also have activity mostly on Sunday such as BBQ for everyone who live in apartment get together. I love it.
I rent a two bedroom apartment with my girlfriend and roommate. I'm living in Henrietta while attending RIT. Rent is pretty average but the quality is better than other apartments in the area. Park two cars. Kitchen appliances are nice. Bathroom and kitchen floor are a nice false wood linoleum. Windows are metal and plastic. The latches are a problem, as they get stuck in the bottom of the frame instead of smoothly clipping on the outside of the frame, and unclipping them requires some coordination. When they are closed they provide good insulation. We rent laundry machines. They're used but they work better than the onsite laundry. I think the price is worth it. I couldn't get their onsite dryers to dry my clothes properly. It would be better if you only had to pay to use the washers. We have a problem w/ the hot water heater leaking CO, which I think is exclusive to our apartment unit. Every 1-3 weeks the alarm goes off after someone takes a long shower or washed a lot of dishes. It only happens when the hot water heater is running for a while and the central air is running at the same time. Maintenance said that our apartment was too well sealed to allow for the CO to dissipate. Maintenance did inspect all the pipes and ventilation, so I think they did everything they could, but if they had called in an expert we would have appreciated it. As long as we open the windows the CO dissipates quickly, and it hasn't been dangerous since the alarm goes off every time. Each apartment is separate, and gets its own central air, water heater, electric, etc. We have ample storage space. Our apartment has a fireplace which we don't use. We have our TV in front of it now but it might be nice occasionally in the winter. Time Warner Cable is the only cable company serving this community, but it hasn't had any internet connectivity issues, while the TWC Service at Riverknoll at RIT was horrible. I can't hear noises from the other apartments on my floor, and the soundproofing between rooms in our apartment is pretty good. We can hear the upstairs neighbors thumping around sometimes but only when they come home and go upstairs, or if they are hammering. I'd say the noise isn't unbearable, and is fairly uncommon. my gf and I share the master bedroom with big closet in a 1 bathroom apartment. We blocked our door to the bathroom so it's more private for our roomate. Overall I think it's one of the better places I've lived and it's a good price for what you get.
