Surrounded by mountains, large parks, and nature reserves, Gilman offers residents a mix of a rural mountain town with nearby city conveniences. Combined with Lake Sammamish a few miles north, outdoor hobbies like hiking, kayaking, and camping are extremely popular in Gilman. Excellent schools, preschools, and neighborhood parks create a family-friendly feel in Gilman. Gilman borders Olde Town, Issaquah’s charming downtown district. Although residents adore being close to the heart of the city’s abundant amenities, Gilman has several eclectic eateries, coffee houses, and shops. Several shopping plazas also neighbor Gilman. Interstate 90 cuts through the neighborhood acting as the main artery between Gilman and the greater Seattle area. Although many residents commute into Seattle and Bellevue for work, Gilman is also convenient to offices for several major companies including Costco and Microsoft.

Property Ratings at Bergen Apartments
Worse place I’ve ever lived. Roaches everywhere. Management is terrible. I was assaulted by one of the maintenance people after I told them to stop breaking ice on my parking spot. Dog poop in and out of the hallways. Noisy drunk neighbors every night and trash everywhere.
This property is "you get what you pay for", falling apart, crazy noise levels, paper thin walls, dirty common area. Spend a little more else where, trust me.
The one star is for La Tessa, our property manager. Despite being busy at multiple other properties, she has been very helpful when she is available. Such as with breaking our lease. Unfortunately this apartment property is lacking in many ways, that I don't think are fixable. In the almost two years we have lived here almost every appliance in are apt has broke, we didn't have hot water for the first two months, our fridge/washer & dryer was replaced, broken door knobs, broken doors, I could go on and on. 1 year into living here our neighbors brought in roaches, this was determined by pest control. For the past 6 months our units and the surrounding units have been treated maybe 3-4 times, and nothing has changed. The neighbors here also do not pick up their trash or dog poop. Dog poop is all over the indoor hallways and trash covers the parking lot. There were beer cans sitting in the hallways for over a month. Another issue, NO PARKING. Our parking was assigned in an alleyway that people block ALL the time. Vendors that the apartment hire (to do who knows what because these apartments are so far gone as far as fixing) will constantly block us out of our parking spot. There also is not guest parking, only street parking where your car will be broken into. The location and size of the units is the only perk of these apartments everything else is a nightmare. The price is appealing but everything will break, you will have bug issues, no parking, and trash/poop will surround your home.
Please avoid these apartments at all costs, they have a serious roach problem that is not going to be fixed anytime soon. The apartments are old and falling apart. We have had to have numerous items fixed or replaced, causing major stress in our lives. The cheap price of these apartments is NOT worth the issues you will face living here.
these apartments have a serious roach problem. Trash is everyway and dog poop in the hallways as well,
Avoid this property at all costs. Unless you like constantly breaking utilities, hidden fees, repairs that never happen, and rude, condescending management I would find somewhere else to live. My original move in date got delayed by two weeks because they didn't clean the unit, when I did move in they were missing blinds, the oven didn't work, and the roof started leaking, which they knew about before they moved us in! When living here, I went without hot water for over a week, had a wall taken out with an estimate of 3 weeks becoming closer to 5 weeks due to structural damage from the leaking roof, and had the property change written agreements for compensation after the construction was completed because the original agreement was 'too good.' The management and repair persons would come in without any notice, or without giving proper notice, after repeated reminders of our right to privacy. The rec center is a joke; the pool was closed for half the summer, the treadmill didn't work for months, and the pool table is missing balls. Then when I moved out they charged me extra money for 'cleaning' even though the unit was better moving out then moving in. Stay far away from this complex or be ready for the worst.
