Property Ratings at Berkshire Dilworth
Poor experience. Staff is disorganized at best, and downright disrespectful at worst. Would highly suggest looking elsewhere if you're considering Berkshire at Dilworth.
I don’t know where to begin. You pay premium prices for luxury quality apartments and everything is cheap and far from luxury on the inside. The staff are all very rude and fake-nice. The only positive thing I can say about this place are the maintenance crew are quick and nice. But if you value a strong and happy community along with quality of the apartment itself, live elsewhere. I would do anything to get out of my lease here.
Staff discourteous and non responsive. You will be treated as a nuisance if you have any concerns or questions. For example I needed to get Triple A into the gates and left a msg asking. I never received a call back. You will see call boxes in place but they aren’t operable so you can’t get anyone in the gates for emergency. There is rarely parking available. There is another apartment under construction down the street and they have the road blocked off during the week so you can’t park on the side streets. And they were only maybe 15 to 20 of visitor spaces for the entire building at any given time. Staff is unorganized. For ex, Our package delivery system has been down for a month and they will not pay the $300 to get a technician to fix it. Now packages are being delivered and the office is demanding that we pick them up or they will charge us a fee for storage at a rate of $50/mth even though we have not been notified we have a package. Another example, I rented the kitchen space for a Thanksgiving dinner. Upon arriving to the room to set up there was a party of about 30 there in full swing. This was 1 hr before my guests arrived. This party was a kids birthday party. When I went to the office to seek assistance the concierge took my info down. I waited 30 min went back to the office as no one called me back and now my own guests were arriving for dinner. When I went back down the concierge was of no assistance and even though it was a Saturday afternoon a leasing agent was nowhere to be found. I ended up having to go in and ask the guests to leave myself. The person who “rented” the space was the leasing agents brother who was borrowing the space for the day. I pd for over 4 hrs and pd full price even tho I didn’t get the space full time. Oh and I never even got a call back so much been as an apology, an offer for a credit NOTHING.On moving day the elevator was rented for the same time and I ended up having to pay my movers while they sat around waiting for the other tenants to finish moving in. In regards to safety we had break ins to apartments and bikes stolen as well furniture. This has happened to myself as well as other residents. Cleanliness has really gone down hill the last six months. There are pet urine spots on my hallway that have been there for months, the elevators and parking garage are filthy, etc.Things will happen and I get that but it’s the lack of concern, kindness, response and respect from the staff that frustrates me.
Lived here for a year and about to move into a larger unit. Cannot beat this location. The complex is beautiful and well maintained. All staff are friendly and helpful. Don't listen to the bad reviews, things mentioned happen everywhere. Also, being in the design field, the detail put into this complex is incomparable to others in the area.

Thank you for taking the time to leave us your great review and thoughts. We are so happy that you are loving Berkshire Dilworth!
Have been living here for about 6 months and things are ok. However, they are still doing considerable construction work and they do not provide appropriate notice about the dangers of the construction work. They redid the balcony and did not make us aware of the general scope of work and when stepping on my deck my feet adhered to the decking. None of the on site staff knew what the product was or how to treat it. Some of the leasing office staff saw it more appropriate to show new tenants than help me with a medical condition that was a result of their negligence. After about 18 hours they were able to determine what was actually applied and did send out a new notice warning residents. The property manger told me I would be allowed out of my lease with 30 day notice. I then received a phone call from corporate Berkshire stating that I would not be let out of my lease and that in fact they were considering coming after me for damages to their property that were the result of me walking on my own balcony. After the incident they came in and placed warnings all over the property saying not to walk on the balcony. The property manager agreed that this was incorrect and we got the regional manager involved. The regional manager withdrew the offer to terminate the lease with 30 day notice and said I had to get out now or fulfill my entire lease. When directly asked about the liability aspect they remain silent. So the written communication from the property manager is now being overruled by her higher ups and they make threats to their tenants and are in no way customer service friendly.
Moved out after a few months after constant issues with our apartment and the leasing team. AC unit was broken for weeks and people in leasing office avoided the issue at all costs. Lived on a ground floor unit on Morehead. The noise from the street was extremely loud and did not feel safe. When there are so many better options around Charlotte, don't choose this place.
My wife and I moved to BD in July. Important factors were noise, security, promised flexibility of lease if we found a house, amenities and apt. quality. Despite advanced notice of our move, BD informed us an hour before move-in that our unit's AC was broken and the two backup window units were currently being used by other tenants who's ACs were broken. There was no apology and no offer to put us up anywhere for a night. Our unit was 90 degrees and impossible to be in. Noise: Our unit is across the street from a Hospital Heli-Pad. The Helicopter arrives and leaves 5-10 times a day and is deafening. At night, vehicles on the road might as well be in our bedroom. Music or TV from our neighbors is pervasive and disrupts our ability to sleep. We are on the top floor but have heard other tenants describe Fixtures shake and "it sounds like people are dropping bowling balls above us" as the worst feature of the Apt. Security: There have been more than one instances where the security and safety of the residents has been threatened. Cars parked in the underground garage that are supposed to be behind gated and secure entrances were broken into. Vehicles had their windows broken in and robbed. Mgmt. waited days to inform the tenant community, took no responsibility in their part and basically blamed tenants. We were also told that Mgmt found a homeless person living in an abandoned unit which was not disclosed to the entire community. In addition, the building is across the street from a greenway, which is a great place to walk, run, or bike, but is constantly flooded with some in the homeless community. We have seen multiple instances across the street from the apartment where police were needed. Amenities: The pool failed inspections for the first couple months we were living there and were unable to take advantage. Management continually made excuses. Apartment Quality: In one word: Cheap. The appliances are awful, the floors are fake wood and wear easily. Lease Flexibility: We informed Mgmt. that we were moving out and were ready to pay the 1 month cancellation fee. Mgmt. then informed us we owed a second month's penalty as a "concession". The contract language was not clear, we were not told of any concessions and feel not only misled, but blatantly lied to. Instead of working with us, Mgmt told us to use it as a lesson be more careful of what we signed in the future. .
Ignore the bad reviews. There are always typical construction delays, especially when property is being bought and sold. My husband and I have been here since the beginning. The location is amazing, the amenities are amazing, and the staff is super friendly. Berkshire does a great job hosting events for residents, whether it's brunch or a workout class. Also, the pool is now officially open! Sometimes I feel like I am at a resort when I'm by the pool, in the club room, or on the rooftop. No other places in Charlotte compare!

Thanks so much for your 5 star review! We are so glad that you are loving Berkshire Dilworth!
I read the other reviews and I don't agree. Yes, the pool isn't open yet but I love the location and my apartment. We have a nice coffee bar and fitness room and the view from the rooftop is awesome! The pool is gorgeous and I can't wait to use it when it is ready. My dog loves the greenway and I love that I can walk or ride my bike to the farmer's market or trader joe's on the weekend!

I absolutely love living here. The location is amazing! It's so close to the Metropolotan where there is plenty of shopping, dining and bars. The staff is so friendly, helpful, and upbeat. It's dog friendly which I love and it's also right on the Greenway. It is brand new so it's finishing up the final touches but they are more than accommodating and helpful with anything you need. Love it! :)

Unfortunately this apartment complex is very pricey and does not live up to the hype. The pool was promised to be open on June 1, however it is August 15 and pool is still open. When staff is confronted about it they just give vague answers. I have been extremely disappointed in the management and availability of the amenities that were advertised.

Thank you for providing feedback about our management. Our team strives to create a comfortable living environment and we apologize that your stay has not been satisfactory. Please contact the office so that we can address your specific concerns.
Don't live here if you expect comfort and great amenities. This complex is the worst complex I've ever lived at in Charlotte. They make promises that remain unfulfilled and all of the previous reviews stand true.

As the Property Manager, I am sorry to hear this! The team at Berkshire Dilworth strives to make your living experience an enjoyable one. Can you please call or come by my office at your earliest convenience to go over any issues directly?
Both of the previous reviews are absolutely accurate. Do not waste your money!! Everything about this place is awful, from the ownership to the structuring of the complex itself. Things might be done on time if they hired construction crews that actually worked while they were on the clock. Most of the time you see most of the crew standing around doing nothing. The ownership company loves to blame everything on the previous owner and won't take responsibility for anything. We literally cannot even pay online yet. The pool isn't finished - that's the construction company's fault. The online portal isn't working - that's the technology company's fault. The club house doesn't have what was promised (pool table, poker table, etc.) and instead filled with a TON of seating - that's the previous owner's fault. We were also told that there was 2 feet of concrete between the levels (as we were worried about the noise level) and that proved not to be true, because we can literally hear our upstairs neighbors walk around upstairs. This place is a joke. I'll never live in another Crescent or Berkshire property again and I will advise the same of others.

As the Property Manager, I am sorry to hear this! We are here to make sure you enjoy your living experience at Berkshire Dilworth. Although the pool is not completed we do have several other amazing amenities for you to enjoy. A pool & poker table were never included in the design so I apologize that this information was given to you before leasing. We hope to have our online payment portal up and running for September and please let us know if we can be of assistance with any noise issues. I welcome you to call or come by my office to go over these issues in more detail. We want all of our residents to love where they live!
The property consistently lies to you about timing and when things will be completed. The best is when they blame crescent (the old property owner) and doesn't take any ownership for themselves. Don't bother spendig all that money on rent livin here. Find a place where the pool is actually open and doesn't take 4 months. I agree with the shoddy building of the apartment. The drawers are supposed to close automatically but have broken twice. This place is a perfect example of why you should judge a book by its cover

As the Property Manager, I am sorry to hear this! Our team is here to make sure you enjoy your living experience at Berkshire Dilworth. Can you please call or come by my office at your earliest convenience to discuss - and ask for me directly?
Do not be lured in by the promises made by management, the beautiful white, bright kitchen, or the location. This place is absolutely TERRIBLE! I, as well as several other tenants that have been living here for months now, have been extremely disappointed. The pool has been promised to be ready for months now, it still isn't. They haven't provided trash receptacles for the pet areas or general areas so people have literally left trash and dog feces laying around. Our kitchen cabinets were poorly installed and two of the drawers don't close. They made promises of a bike repair company, pool table and poker table in the club house, and a partnership with a deli and/or coffee shop for the retail area by the leasing office - absolutely none of these things have happened. While the deli/coffee shop may still come to fruition, the club house is already complete with nothing but couches, tables, and more couches. Also, I've spoken with the gentleman that was supposed to do the bike repair and said they canceled that. On top of all of this, we haven't been able to pay online for rent for several months now, so we all have to pay for money orders/cashiers checks which they refuse to reimburse us for. I could continue, but I think you get the point. This place is not worth the money. I would recommend moving into basically any other complex in Charlotte.

As the Property Manager, I am sorry to hear this! Our team is here to make sure you enjoy your living experience at Berkshire Dilworth. To touch base on a few of the items you have mentioned, the trash receptacles are on order and should be arriving very soon. The Pet Stations are now in place and we do have a plan for the Bike Shop that we will be sending out to everyone this week. The Clubroom was not designed to have a pool or poker table in that space so I am sorry that you were given that information. We do have a great team in place finding the perfect retail partner. I would love to discuss with you further if you would like to reach out to me directly.
