In the north end of the Minneapolis' Phillips district lies Ventura Village, a small neighborhood tucked between Interstate 35 and Hiawatha Avenue. Potential residents have a wide selection of apartments and houses to rent, and the commute to downtown Minneapolis, only 1.5 miles north, typically takes less than 10 minutes.
Ventura Village's businesses and community organizations reflect the area's rich history celebrating the area's Native American culture. For a taste of classic American comfort food, locals head to Maria's Cafe, which serves breakfast and lunch. Northland Visions offers a place for local artists and crafters to sell their wares, and several festivals throughout the year celebrate the local Native culture and other Minnesota traditions.

Property Ratings at Best Apartments
I've lived in this location on Franklin Ave for 7 years. It was my very first apartment and it was a magnificent experience due to the building manager. If there were any issues she was always on top of it. She is very kind, funny, and proficient in her role. The buildings are old but well maintained. I love the the arch windows, the high ceilings, the balcony facing the city, and the antique fireplace/mantel. It's not the most glamorous neighborhood especially when you get closer to Chicago Ave, but the park across the street is clean and their are three bus lines to take you where you need to go.
Alright, folks, let's talk about this apartment – it's like the cool kid in the neighborhood, but with a touch of fancy. Picture this: you walk into this one-bedroom wonderland, and it's like, "Hey, welcome home, buddy!" First off, those original wood floors? Freshly redone, and they're like the Beyoncé of floors – flawless and full of character. And don't get me started on the woodwork – we're talking pocket doors and built-ins and fireplaces that are basically the Swiss Army knives of furniture. Need storage? Got it. Want to impress your friends? Done and done.Did I mention the balcony? Yup. Now, let's talk security. Off-street parking? Check. So you can sleep at night knowing your wheels are safe and sound. Plus, there's secure front and back entrances – ain’t nobody getting in here without an invite. And location? It's the golden ticket, my friends. Downtown's practically your backyard, Uptown's just around the corner, and the highway entrances are like your trusty sidekicks – always there when you need 'em. Oh, and did I mention the park? Yeah, forget looking into boring buildings – you've got yourself a view of sports courts & fields & some trees right across the street. But here's the kicker – the property management team? They're like the MVPs of apartment living. Been here seven years, switched units recently, and they made it feel like a walk in the park. Super communicative, super chill, super flexible, and always on the ball.Things get taken care of quickly & by a small team in-house. So, in a nutshell, this place? It's got charm, it's got convenience, and it's got a whole lot of personality. Living here? It's like having your own little slice of awesome.
I recently moved into this amazing apartment and let me tell you, it's like a breath of fresh air compared to my previous luxury apartment. The difference is striking—it feels less like a sterile hotel and more like a cozy, inviting home. First off, the move-in process was a breeze. The property manager is an absolute gem—friendly, responsive, and always ready to assist with any requests. It's reassuring to know that any issues or concerns will be addressed promptly. Once I stepped inside the apartment, I was blown away by the beautiful woodwork around the doors and the stunning hardwood floors. It adds such warmth and character to the space, making it feel truly special. Another highlight is the fantastic park conveniently located right across the road. It's perfect for leisurely strolls, picnics, or just soaking up some fresh air and sunshine. What truly sets this place apart is the level of flexibility and attentiveness from the property manager. They took the time to understand our needs and preferences, showing us some fantastic options that ticked all the boxes. As someone who works from home, having a bright room with interesting features like the fireplace is a game-changer. It creates a comfortable and inspiring environment where I can be productive and creative. Overall, I couldn't be happier with my decision to move here. It's more than just an apartment—it's a place I'm proud to call home. If you're looking for a welcoming and charming living space with top-notch management, look no further!
This was my first time living alone and I ended up staying for two years! I loved this place so so much! The location is convenient, the apartments are beautiful, and the grounds crew is simply amazing. If you're looking for a luxury apartment this won't be for you. Its an old building that comes with quirks and less than ideals by nature. But if you're looking for a homie place to make your own, give it a try :)
I literally cannot say enough to dissuade anyone from renting these apartments. One star is too many. First off, these pictures are wildly inaccurate. The units are run down, poorly kept and dirty. The landlord is nearly impossible to contact and is unhelpful when he is reached. The worst is the property manager though. I've literally never encountered anyone so impatient and rude. From the first time I spoke with her, when I called to inquire about any availabilities, she cut me off, raised her voice and ended up hanging up on me. Absolutely awful, constant miscommunications, very short temper, all around unprofessional and terrible to interact with.
