Property Ratings at Bethlehem Fields
Compared to how modern and youthful the new Allentown communities are, this complex is now very old fashioned and rigid. There are many problems in the units and the staff are not as friendly as they used to be. The halls are worn down, the grounds are not as well maintained, and the actual apartments are showing their age...for the price and the amount of traffic in Hellertown, plus the way the staff treats you, go somewhere you get more for your money.
Last summer, I took a job that required me to locate to the Lehigh Valley, and I had about a month to find a place and move. I came across Bethlehem Fields and found out that they had one 1BR/1BA apartment that was going to become available within my timeframe. I drove up to see the apartment/complex and put down a deposit on the same day. The front office staff is extremely friendly and helpful, and management/maintenance is on top of any situation that may arise. I moved out because I relocated again for work; otherwise, I 100% would've renewed for another year. The complex is located right on the edge of Hellertown, and there are plenty of shopping options within a 5-10 minute drive. Also, downtown Bethlehem is a quick drive up route 412, so it is in a prime location. The complex is right at the intersection of routes 412 and 78, which was huge for me since I chose to live near Bethlehem and would have a bit of a commute to work. The complex itself is safe (requiring electronic key access to enter your particular building) and clean, and the other residents I encountered were friendly. There is plenty of parking, and finding a spot was never an issue. The apartment itself was great. The kitchen is HUGE and has a ton of cabinets/storage. The bathroom is also fairly large. A couple of my non-negotiable requirements were that the apartment had to have a washer/dryer and plenty of closet space, and Bethlehem Fields offered both. Another bonus was that my electric bills remained fairly low because the 1BR/BA apartments are on the interior of the buildings and hold their temperature more efficiently than apartments that are on the outer ends of the building - I rarely had to turn on my heat during the winter. I never really experienced any issues with noise coming from neighboring apartments. Overall, this is a great complex, and I would absolutely recommend it to anyone!
My spouse and I just re-upped for another year in our beautiful 2-bedroom, 2-bath apartment at Bethlehem Fields. The apartment is lovely with fabulous windows, enabling tons of light to come in. Appliances, all electric, are up-to-date, and washer and dryer are in the apartment, a boon for those of us who (a) hate doing laundry and (b) have some walking difficulties. This multi-age complex looks like a college campus, and the grounds are beautifully kept. Management personnel are delightful, and the very few problems are handled efficiently and well.
The location of this apartment complex is really what sets it apart from the others in the Valley. Easy access to Route 78 and buses that will take you to Philadelphia or NYC make Bethlehem Fields a prime location for commuters and students as the complex is conveniently located less than 5 miles from Lehigh University. Location aside, the apartments are very nice. 24-hour maintenance is a great perk. The gym is quite small, but never crowded so if you find a time to go and you are not a serious exerciser it does the job. I give this apartment complex a 4 because there is a road that runs past which bikers frequently come through as do trailer (through no fault of the apartment complex), but it does make it a bit loud sometimes. The grounds are kept nicely and the security is top-notch. An electronic key fob is the only way you will get into the building and into your personal apartment.
The community here is a pleasant, well-maintained, beautiful place to live! The ladies in the office and the maintenance staff are helpful and very attentive to the needs of the residents. I have not had many issues since moving in 2 1/2 years ago, but if I do, someone is there to resolve the issue in a prompt and professional manner. There are lots of amenities for the residents and I love the fact that the community has made improvements in providing more things for us to enjoy. This is definitely a wonderful place to live!
Priced as a luxury apartment, insulation is mediocre and you can hear your neighbors as if they were your roommate. Other than that it's clean.
