Property Ratings at Bexley at Brier Creek
BE AWARE!!! Do not move to this place! Moved out June 25th was told had to kept the apartment to July 24th. Paid the pro rate of $1500 in July and turned in the key before the 24th. Just got a bill from them for $1000 for August. Definitely would not recommend moving here.

Nearly two years ago, my wife and I retired while living in New England and decided to relocate to Raleigh, NC, for the warmer climate and to be closer to family. We decided to live in an apartment while we took our time searching for a house. After looking at at least a dozen complexes and becoming frustrated and unimpressed, we stumbled upon Bexley at Brier Creek. We were sold! We have lived here for nearly two years and love it! The buildings and grounds are maintained meticulously, the neighbors are friendly, the amenities are perfect and it truly feels like a community. We’re on our second lease and will renew again for a third. We put the house on hold because the rates here are reasonable and there are none of the expenses and bother that come along with home ownership. Most importantly, the management and staff are wonderful and sincerely care about your living experience. Jennifer, the community manager and Anthony, the Maintenance manager are wonderful people. They are friendly and approachable and extremely responsive to any issues you may have. The office staff and maintenance teams are great. All of the common areas are maintained really well and the pool is especially cared for. The property is well lite at night and the sidewalks make it perfect for an evening stroll through the neighborhood. Bexley is also close to shopping with the Brier Creek Complex in walking distance. It all makes for a great living experience. If you are looking for an apartment, be sure to add Bexley at Brier Creek to your list. Once you explore other communities and options, we believe you will be very happy here.

I'll start with the positives. The floor plans in Bexley are thoughtful and the best I found in the area. I especially love our fenced in backyard. They are the only property I found with that option. The employees that work at the office and on the maintenance team are friendly and professional. The location is excellent. However, I wouldn't choose to live here again. The windows are not insulated at all. In the winter the windowsills collect significant puddles of water and mildew grows daily. You are expected to be ok with this and you are responsible for cleaning the water and mold from the windows daily. Maintenance will come to your apartment and paint over the mold. This appears to be the practice for many years as the windows look terrible. The mold comes back about 2 weeks after they paint over it. Any room with a window will be exceptionally cold in the winter and heat up quickly in the summer. The apartments are not energy efficient and you will have to pay for it in your electric bill. Some apartment noise is expected but the walls here are so thin I can hear my neighbor snoring through the walls at night, the other neighbors kids crying during the day and my upstairs neighbors when they do laundry, take a shower, walk, etc. When we moved in, there was a huge roach problem. I found one in my bed. Every morning I would wake up and kill 3-4 roaches. There was a waitlist to get our unit sprayed. I put out my own traps. When I removed the traps, roaches came back. There is a lot of rotting wood outside the windows which I suspect is an entry point. Parking is not assigned. Nor are there designated resident and visitor spaces. I often have to park on the next street over. There are several other details that have been overlooked for a "luxury" property. In the guest bathroom, the toilet tank lid was the wrong size and it shifted every time my kids used it. The closet door falls of the track every other time we open it. It almost fell on my son once. The door to the laundry room has a warped rail. It sticks and has to be forced closed. It too falls off. The stove had a burner that was sparking. Turns out the burner had been replaced with one from a totally different brand stove. The counters in the kitchen are made of particle board with a plastic coating. The underside overhang isn't finished and the particle board flakes and splinters. Maintenance is responsive but I wouldn't pay to live here again.

PROS: I lived here for just over a year to transition from PA to NC and I must say it was an awesome experience, everyone is super friendly (and Dog Friendly), some of the long-term renters are very genuine and I was quite impressed with how flexible they've been with moving out, they even let me move out a week early and pro-rated my rent. Maintenance is super respectful, prompt and they do a good job, interiors are dated but everything functions. I had their best unit, 3BR+Garage and It's a fantastic layout, huge closets, lots of storage in the garage and everything you'd ever need is across the street. CONS: Utilities are not very efficient, my electric bill was much higher than I had anticipated ($120-180) likely due to poor insulation and low SEER appliances.

UPDATE: Ms. Victoria from the leasing office promptly reached out to us explaining how to deal with the ongoing noise issues in the future and we are totally satisfied with her suggestions, hopefully things get sorted out. Other than this, the community is really good, been living here for over 2.5 years now, a beautiful place to live in with young children and dogs(except some irresponsible dog owners who don't pick up after their dogs). And the after hours property attendant and a fellow dog parent, Ms. Stacey attended to us promptly assuring us we don't have to feel left alone dealing with the nuisance.

I was really looking forward to lease a unit there after driving by last night. We have a corporate relocation and I needed a temporary housing while my family finds a home in Raleigh but the sales person that was supposed to help me get the process rolling was rude and extremely impatient. I was asking very basic and predictable questions such as what are the lease terms and cancellation policy in case we find a home sooner... apparently she could not understand my questions nor my accent (funny since I worked in the States for 20 years and never had this issue). She treated me like I was an idiot for asking some basic questions. No thanks. I won't be renting there.

Management is super awesome and responsive until you are moved in. Then you are in your own. Maintenance can't fix anything correctly the first time, even simple things like tightening a faucet. You'll end up doing it all yourself.

This is our second Weinstein property and we couldnt have picked a better spot. Location is perfect, gym is legit for an apartment, and the staff is very friendly and attentive. Very dog friendly community as well!

I would not recommend Bexley at Brier Creek. During our 1 year on the property we had a huge bug problem. Upon move in our kitchen counters were covered with ants. Cockroaches were an ongoing problem despite pest control calls. The mold growing on the window sills and panes was so alarming that I requested maintenance to clean the apartment while we left town. It was not cleaned and we had to request the mold removal two more times before it was removed. My two toddlers were sick a lot while living at Bexley. In addition, the kitchen cabinets were rotting on the bottom. The only positive was the shared amenities such as the pool, gym and BBQ area.

This apartment complex is nice overall. Like most apartments, it has its pros and cons. Pros: The location of this apartment is probably the best location you will find in Brier Creek. You can walk across the street to Lowe's Foods grocery store and to the Brier Creek Commons shopping complex. The location is close to three major highways making it easier to commute anywhere in the Triangle area. It is also within minutes of the airport. They just built a fire pit, new grills and a new business center that rock. Cons: The apartment is older so it has its share of problems. I have had to put in maintenance requests a lot (they fix things fast though). It would be nice if they updated the apartments with more up-to-date items inside (older thermostat for example). I think the age of the apartments makes my electricity bill a little higher than in previous apartments. The parking is horrible and sometimes I have to park very far from my apartment building. The walls are pretty thin also; I can hear my neighbors from time to time. Nothing too bad but somewhat annoying at times.
I have lived here for 3 years and LOVE IT!! The complex is very well maintained and the staff is always friendly, helpful, and attentive to the needs of the residents. The location of the property makes it very convenient to shopping, restaurants, the airport, and Research Triangle.
