Property Ratings at Bexley Crossing at Providence
The apartment was turned over in appalling condition. The carpet reeked of mold and an overpowering stench that made my entire family sick daily, and visitors refused to come over. After the property manager argued and dismissed my complaints, I had to threaten to involve the North Carolina Department of Health & Human Services before they finally replaced the carpet. They assumed I didn’t know my rights, but as a law student with close federal government connections, I was prepared to hold them accountable. Their attempt to use coercion and intimidation to avoid providing a clean, habitable unit was a huge red flag. In less than a year, the apartment developed a roach infestation, and I accumulated about 20 pages of maintenance requests—everything from severe leaks flooding in from the ceiling to the AC failing in the height of summer. The unit was in terrible shape from start to finish and far from what they advertise. When I finally had enough and canceled my lease *before* it started, they still tried to lock me into another term, attempting to charge me rent for an unlivable apartment they couldn’t otherwise rent. Once again, it seems I’ll need legal recourse, as I did when fighting to replace the filthy carpet, to make them back off. This place is filthy and poorly maintained—move in at your own risk.
Beware. Units are turned over with mold, pet stains, broken appliances, broken and leaking HVAC units. Inspect HVAC, appliances, dishwasher during your tour. 1) I was charged first months rent and deposit in advance to find the unit in conditions attached. No professional cleaning performed, and maintenance cleaned the unit leaking bleach on the carpet. 2) From move in in January 2022 to March 2022, dishwasher was broken with door not being able to close due to broken latch. This took 3 months to fix. 3) End of March 2022 to August 2022, HVAC was broken and leaking. Due to this AC did not go below 78 degrees and could not cool the apartment. Solution from management was a plastic bucket and window positioned AC unit (violating property’s own residents handbook). 4) No maintenance of breezeways at any point, despite their valet trash service dragging tenants trash, leaving stains Sunday to Thursday. In addition, the valet personnel examines tenants postal packages. Leasing office is maintained daily and has a dedicated cleaning person, but no maintenance for tenants and their common areas. Due to raising these concerns, the property collets annually is allocated, the management told me via email they will not extend my lease, offering me to leave early, not saying penalties will not be charged. 5) Mold is present in all units. Read other user experiences. I conducted a mold inspection out of pocket due to my cat’s wheezing. The inspection confirmed high presence of clodosporium spores, and according to the inspector, is an EPA concern. Report was sent to management on 12/23, after which they mailed a letter of non renewal, sent prior to my 60 day notice (1/19). No attempt at remediation from management made. Per the regional director of this multi-million dollar company “that type of mold is commonplace and harmless.” They do not mention this on their website as part of the luxury experience. 6) The community is not in a wooded area, and a new community is being built next door, with construction Monday-Saturday for the foreseeable future. 7) Coyotes abound around the property and the issue is not addressed. 8) Toxic emissions from local paper mill factory reach the area all the time, and management does not warn their tenants. 9)Rent prices do not reflect market conditions.

I regret renting. If I had prior knowledge, experience, and dealings with Bexley's corporate office and its people, I would have surely researched harder for a better landlord. 1. We were given an apartment with a crappy carpet. 2. It was to late as we moved in and noticed after closer observation. We informed a person at the local office. 3. Upon giving notice to leave and setting a move out date. We were informed that they would need an extra week to change out the carpet for the next tenant. 4. Regardless of indicating possible carpet change. Corporate office charged for replacing the carpet and used a small stain, not even a nickle in size and some cleanable areas for the reason. 5. Corporate office did not take into account for the previous tenant's contribution to the excessive wear on the carpet because they would not be able to squeeze the extra money out of us if they acknowledged the truth of the whole situation. I would not recommend to move in with a used carpet. I can not recommend Bexley to anyone nor do I trust this organization to do the right thing in certain situations. Zero trust,

Bexley crossing was great at first but when you as a paying tenant contact the emergency line to request assistance due to their door lock not turning and to be told that "You'll have to find a lock smith" is ridiculous. Not only did I miss important work time I was stranded outside of my apartment for over 3.5 hours. The process for a tenant to get assistance is so far from acceptable it deserves to be dismantled and shutdown. 3 days later finally able to enter my apartment without brute force entry. So many other options out there please look elsewhere. You've been warned.

Painted over the mold in our ceiling in the bathroom told me to just turn the fan on it’ll be fine. Roaches & centipedes. Gaps under patio and front door it gets flooded when they power wash. I could keep going.
Moving state to state can be difficult to find a new home to meet your needs. I was drawn to this community after reading how dog friendly it was and it being advertised as a luxury community. Do not let the name fool you. I have not even been here for a full two months and have sent over 5 maintenance orders for their cheap appliances to be fixed. The fridge/freezer has ruined over $200 worth of food and the problem is still not resolved. There are countless stray cats around the community lounging on the poolside lounge chairs for their residents. Being extremely allergic to cats I brought this to the attention of their staff. Curious about their response? “There are a few residents that put out food for these cats because they are attempting to gain the stray cat's trust so that they may "catch" it and bring it to a shelter to remove them from the property.” And “if you would like to have a chair disinfected before using it, we are happy to provide a disinfecting wipe.” The cat bowls are left out all hours of the day and night bringing more pests to the area and anyone with a brain knows this will only create an incentive for more cats to populate the area. Personally, the lack of care is embarrassing for a “luxury” community. Do not let the granite countertops and designer lighting fool you. Pick a different community.

In April of 2017 we were going to get a 3br (Camden) on the 2nd floor but it was totally different from what we were initially shown on the tour. The leasing agent was able to get us a preferable unit on the 1st floor. We were still slightly disappointed for multiple reasons. First, the breezeway is super dirty – stains, leaves, bugs, and cobwebs everywhere. The apartment reeks like old dingy attic and smoke (we're non-smokers and even with plugins and diffusers the smell doesn't go away). The vinyl wood like flooring is bubbling up everywhere. There is also barely any natural light in the apartment as it is super dark, even with the patio blinds all the way open. The absolute worst part is the bugs. I am a stay at home mom with a newborn and clean everyday religiously. Nearly twice a week I have to get my husband to kill a huge roach or weird bug somewhere in the apartment. The absolute worst that has happened is a tiny lizard that tried to sneak in through the ceiling air vent. With a 6 year old and newborn baby this is absolutely atrocious. I am so disappointed that we signed a one year lease because I cannot wait to leave this mess. The only upside is the gym and pool - besides that, it is totally not worth the money.

I loved living here when I moved here in May 2016. The leasing agent who helped me, Nathan, was great and really made me feel as though this was a place where the management cared about the residents' satisfaction. He must have gotten a better job and left, most likely because he was the only person in the office during time I've been living here who did anything to respond to my concerns. Last fall, the management implemented valet trash service. Before that, some of my neighbors would sometimes leave trash in the breezeway since the dumpster is far away. One time, I companied to Nathan about it and within minutes he had collected the trash and left a reminder for the people not to leave trash in there breezeways. Since valet trash has come along, I long for the good old days. People regularly pile trash in the breezeway with no regard for the times when trash is supposed to be out for the valet, and on weekends, especially holiday weekends, people let their trash pile up until the breezeway literally looks like a dump. I have brought this up to management MULTIPLE times, and each time they promise they will do something about it, but never do. In addition to the trash problem, now some people are smoking out in the breezeways and leaving their cigarette butts on the ground. I know that if I even attempt to get this stopped it will go nowhere. For those reasons, I will not be renewing my lease. It's a shame because if these issues were addressed, it would really be a nice place to live. The apartments have nice upgrades. However, there is clear evidence of carelessness on the part of the renovators and my carpets were a little worn and dingy when I moved in. I LOVE the large, private patios. The amenities are nice and I love the neighborhood. Maintenance has always responded quickly to any of my service needs. And to address the bug problem raised by other reviewers, I've seen maybe one or two bugs get inside, but this is the South. I once heard rodents in the walls, but before I heard them, I saw maintenance go into the rafter space, presumably to address the problem. I have not had a cause for concern since. In summary, this is a great place to live if you don't mind mounds of garbage being piled up in the breezeways. In my opinion, the price I pay for rent gives me the right to expect to not see trash every time I exit my apartment.

In March of 2015 my wife and I picked up everything we had ever known, put it in a truck and moved just a bit over 500 miles to arrive at Bexley Crossing at Providence. It was important that we found a quiet community with top of the line amenities in order to make the transition a little smoother. This property is within 20 minutes of uptown, the airport and just about any restaurant or grocery store you can imagine. When you take into consideration how easy it is to access I-485, it’s clear to see why Bexley Crossing is a certified winner in our book. The staff is respectful, courteous and very knowledgeable. Maintenance responds to work orders promptly and does the job correctly the first time. It also doesn’t hurt that there’s a Starbucks coffee maker near the kitchen area that produces a fresh, delicious cup of joe every time. Speaking of fresh, you should see the newly renovated units, pool area, gym and media room. Top notch. If you’ve come this far, let me be completely honest with you. There are cheaper options within 10 miles; You don’t want to mess with those too much. There are more expensive options as well in shiny new communities that just don’t offer the same amenities. I’m as snobby as one can be about living arrangements and Bexley Crossing has far and away exceeded my expectations!

These apartments were the best for us as they are .2 mile from Ballantyne ES and .4 mile from shopping (Publix & CVS) and within a 1-mile radius, there are 2 other grocery stores, countless shops, restaurants, while all the time nestled in a quiet section off the main highway, yet close to everything. We will be able to walk our child to and from the school each day, so no need for the bus, and we'll be able to do so safely with well built sidewalks to both school and shopping. These apartments have had recent and continual upgrades to that of the newest apartments and the amenities include: Starbucks coffee, modern gym, nice family friendly swimming pool, children's playground, a resident hub and Wi-Fi Lounge with Mac/PC workstations and wireless printing, and a media room with TV wall and nice comfortable seating
This complex is perfect for just about any age group. The amenities far surpass any other place around and the location is great for business activity as well as leisure time. The newly renovated state-of-the-art entertainment rooms, media center, gym, and gorgeous pool and barbecue areas( with fire pit, tables, couches, and televisions) are amazing. Set in a beautifully landscaped, wooded area this development is pet friendly and inviting. A recently constructed playground rounds out this perfect spot for anyone to call "home".
Very nice starter apartment in a very safe area in charlotte. It is tucked away in the woods off the main road and very quit. Well built apartments with great amenities and easy parking. Across the road from a publixs and Walgreens. I have had no problems with the apartment and the staff has always been helpful and friendly. Pet friendly with a nice area to walk your dog.
