The building is unique in my experience - after high-rise living in NYC, Melbourne, Oz, and Dubai - all those were good; but the level of welcomingness, ongoing social gatherings (in which I haven't participated, but am pleased to know are happening - and the simple number of dogs in the building makes this place a real find in a great neighborhood.

Move in was easy and effortless with reserved elevators and luggage carts provided. Location is hard to beat being next to Fields Park as well as close access to 405.

Block 17 offers everything we could hope for in our first apartment in the city. The views and location are off the charts. It's both kid and pet friendly. After finding ourselves spending most of our time in our home during the pandemic, we have been ecstatic to find ourselves at Block 17. The community is wonderful, the atmosphere upbeat. Living at Block 17 has been a dream come true. It is the perfect location to be integrated into city life while also accessing an expansive grass park, the waterfront, and a dog park. Sitting on our patio and watching the park come to life everyday has become my favorite pastime.

Block 17 was the place to be for quite sometime. Initially it was a great place to live. Location was spot on given all the coffee shops, restaurants, and parks that are close by. Rooftop was the true gem. The view is one of the best in PDX. It was big enough for a bbq with friends, or a quiet place to end your day. Given all the great things that made me renew my lease three times over, something changed within the past 1-2 years. It seems different now. Its possible that covid just mended the way people are in general, but nonetheless it is not the same. Hopefully, once covid clears this place can get back to being the cool, laid back, and eventful place people know it as.
Block 17 is a beautiful community with a lot to offer to their residents. Despite the pandemic, the management team has come up with creative ways to keep activities for residents going. The apartment homes themselves are spacious with nice views. And maintenance has been so timely and professional regarding any requests we may have.

I love my apartment! Its a beautiful place to call home. Theres been many times like this that I feel like management could be much better though. I have had multiple friends in the building move out for similar reasons.

10/10 would recommend Block 17. Everything from location, to leasing and maintenance staff. I looked at over 20 options before choosing this location and it exceeds all expectations. I would buy my unit if it was an option, because I plan on being here for a long time.

I have lived at Block17 for over a year and as a first time resident of a high rise apartment community, this has been a wonderful experience! I love my apartment and how modern and peaceful it is. Ive greatly enjoyed all of the amenities, especially the stunning views from the roof-top deck and easy access to the on-site gym. The management is always very responsive and caring and you cant beat the location! Its been a great place to live and highly recommend it!

The building has gone way down hill since the new management took over months ago. There have been break in's in the garage damaging people's cars and belongings. You constantly see strangers in the halls as tenants Air BnB out their apartments. Our lease just came up so with a perfectly spotless apartment, professionally cleaned, they're also keeping $450+ of my security deposit. What was once a great building, with a friendly and helpful staff, has gone tremendously downhill.

Horrible building management. Worst I've ever dealt with. Poorly planned community events (Mimosas and Muffins? Really? What idiot thought of that brilliant idea?) and out of touch with the residents. Building just recently promoted the worst of the management staff to Property Director, and might as well have just added fuel the fire that is this buildings demise. The writing is on the wall, but Corporate office is not addressing resident needs. Time to drain the swamp. Would not recommend this building. Moving to NV.

What my unit lacks in space (649 sq. ft.), it makes up for in style, and quality. I've only been here 10 days, but I'm already loving it. The finishes, and appliances, are very high end. Definitely more like a condominium, than apartment. The amenities, although not quite finished, will be amazing. The gym, which is in the smaller of the 2 buildings, is twice as big as any other in the Pearl, and very high tech. The community spaces are stunning as well, beautifully designed with gorgeous views. My unit overlooks the Fields Park, which is so nice. Very well maintained, and always bustling with activity. Unlike many other Portland parks, this one is not populated with homeless, and drugs, a sad reality of our urban spaces as of late. The Fields is clean, safe, and a great bonus right next to Block 17. The leasing/management staff are really great as well....they've been helpful, accommodating, and welcoming. Also, it's perfect for getting around the city, as its just a block from the Streetcar stop. I am highly recommending Block 17 for a city apartment, rent here, you won't regret it.
