Property Ratings at ELEVATE Apartment Homes
Heat, AC doesn't work. Cockroaches, mice and pest problem. Homeless found sleeping in public spaces often with no security. Amenities constantly not working and mismanaged priorities of management. Posting this 10/17/2023. I promise that the negative reviews are not being fixed and they are telling the truth. Please be wary of fake reviews that management has posted.
Pictures are inaccurate. It is not that nice. The property management is bad and has horrible response time and your maintenance request rarely gets done. Good luck!!!!

First off , the pictures of the apartment’s that they offer on here do not look like that in person! The management does not fix anything, the hot water is always having issues the utility bill is always high, the elevators always have issues, the pool has been closed for months, the laundry room looks like the ceiling could cave in any minute, homeless people are always roaming the halls and this “Onsite Security” is here maybe once every two weeks! Not safe for your car either the parking garage is a high theft zone . The rent is also not worth your buck.

Hi Lisa, We appreciate you bringing your concerns to our attention. The pool has had to be closed a little more often the last few months for cleaning and chemical balancing due to some misuse of the area, so we do apologize about that. We are addressing the concerns of homeless people and the presence of security. Feel free to stop down or contact the office at 833-734-6224 or bolero@ipgliving.com as we would be happy to speak with you in person regarding any other concerns you may have.
DON'T MOVE IN BOLERO IF YOU LOVE YOUR HARD EARNED MONEY - 1- High Utility bill, They have changed our Lease without any prior notice as per lease it should be Flat rate. Earlier total bill used to be below $100 and now its more than $300+ every month , including Electricity and Internet it will go $500+ 2- Trash charges are $50+, which is more higher than other apartments whereas most trash chute doors and handles are broken. 2- Onsite management doesn't care about residents, Not ready to hear us. 3- Be ready to wait for weeks , if you have raised any maintenance complaint. 4- Room window is having leakage, Raised complaint multiple times in past 2 years but no one is here to hear us. 5- Today I saw attached letter at my door, So I came to know HIGH UTILITY BILL issue is bothering entire apartment residents.

They need to update their information on apartments.com because pool is not 24/7, hours are 10 am-10pm and their is not washer dryer in any units. They apparently took them out so residents wouldn’t have to wait on delayed parts. I would rather have one in unit and wait for a part then have to use the 90° laundry room. Some of these things are what I want in a apartment and wasted my time touring.

Hi Taylor, Thank you so much for bringing this information to our attention. Our property’s website contains the correct information regarding our property. Unfortunately, this third-party site does not. We have reached out to have this corrected and are auditing all other third-party websites to improve accuracy.
The new management is terrible. I have lived her 4 years and they do nothing. You never know when someone will be in, they won’t see tenants (expect you to make an appointment a week out because they don’t want to deal with anything), won’t answer emails, don’t respond to maintenance, and then threaten to make you pay for it when it was there negligence on upkeep and failure to complete a 3 week old maintenance request l that mentions water leaking. If you want the headache and stress and being buckled and dimed then move in. I fully expect they probably find every excuse to keep security deposits upon move out.

Hi Nathen, We are sorry to hear that we didn’t meet your expectations. We have tried contacting you. Please get in touch with us at (833) 390-2474 or bolero@ipgliving.com
Management here is very arrogant to address any of your maintenance issues. You can always expect rude answers from them which makes you wonder if you are living here for free. There are ongoing elevator repairs, water and plumbing issues. Water is suddenly shut off for the entire day and you can't really do anything. Hallways smells like pee. Packages were getting lost and when I complained, they gave a solution that "you should collect your packages right after they were delivered, so it's your fault". For any of your issues to be addressed, you need to literally beg them for 2 months. It is next to impossible to get a hold of them over email or phone. They have been shady with rent amount than what they actually promised. They didn't even clean the apartment while handing over it to me. As long as you don't want to take bath or use water everyday, don't get any maintenance issues, don't order anything online and don't have to deal with lazy concierges and moron management, you can survive here.

The management is never around. They never answer the phone or email. Smells of cigarette smoke and marijuana all of the time. Doors are broken rooms are not clean when moving in. Not a good place to live!
Worst place to live in downtown! Some of the features of the apartments are listed here -Trash chute is always filled, maintenance request are addressed after many months, leasing officer lady is rude, packages are lost.
I've lived here for 2 and half years, and most of that time would have recommended though with some reservations (a 3.5/5 before), but in the past ~6 months it seems to have taken a turn for the worse. The only light in my kitchen broke and it took 2 months and multiple emails/requests to get it fixed. When it finally was fixed, the technician told me that maintenance is very disorganized and no one knows what they're doing... Then there's the marijuana. The smell comes through our vents more days than not, sometimes for hours at a time. My first complaint received no response, and the response to my second complaint was a pretty ambiguous "we'll see what we can do." This often happens during weekday work hours, giving me headaches while trying to work. My other complaints which are not new: You sometimes need to wait a long time for an elevator. This is especially an issue with covid, but was an issue before too. AC is only available in the summer, and doesn't do a great job of keeping the unit cool on hot days. My unit is naturally very warm (I basically never turn on the heat all winter), so each year there's a few weeks in the spring and then the fall where I need to constantly have big noisy box fans running to keep my apartment cool, and on unseasonable warm days, it reaches the mid to upper 80s inside and there's nothing I can do. The apartment is otherwise nice. Views are nice. Location is great. Staff are pleasant. But right now I would avoid. I'll update this review if things change, but otherwise I'm out when my current lease is up.
Very good place to live. Have been here for 1.5 years, and seen two management companies- both were really great. I had every maintenance request responded to promptly, concierge are all so helpful, and the cleaners do a great job with the common areas everyday. Had a beautiful view and apartment layout, great A/C. Its an amazing location with the skyway connection and access to loring greenway, loring park and the sculpture garden nearby. You would think they would charge more for it!!

Wow, 5 stars! Thank you so much! At Bolero Flats Apartments, we work hard to provide good service so your rating means a great deal to our staff. As always, please let us know if there is anything else we can do for you. Justin Z - Property Manager
The location is great, you are right where you want to be and connected by skyway. Can't beat that. There have been many updates over the past couple of years that have made this place much better than it was. However, they are sometimes slow to fix things. For example, the sauna has been broken for over a year and has yet to be fixed. Areas that aren't common areas, such as stairwell to parking, could be improved. There is a door that won't shut in the parking ramp and the lighting is not great. They also don't let you control the temperature of your apartment year round. Yes there is air, but they either turn it to heat or AC and you can only turn it on or off. I prefer my house to be cooler, but I can't control it so it is pretty frustrating.
Issues we ran into as residents: - Ongoing elevator failures that resulted in wait times as long as 15 minutes and one time requiring me to walk up all 26 floors by stair. - Ongoing water outages. - Numerous other projects that ran severely longer than what was told to us by the property management company, which ultimately was indicative of the fact that they always went with the cheapest option. - 4 different property managers within a 2 year period, many of which didn't even announce their arrival but were kind enough to put out a memo to the whole building on their way out the door. - Maintenance requests that took weeks to follow up on, if at all. And a maintenance staff that would enter my property without notification and without leaving notice that they were there, which was in direct breach of our lease. - A leasing staff that took sometimes weeks to return, or never answered, e-mails about concerns we had or questions we needed answered. - A leasing staff that was notorious for taking the guest parking passes and not returning them, therefore leaving less options for the actual residents. - A lack of organizational infrastructure within the leasing office that resulted in me losing my parking pass without requesting so. This all ultimately culminated in almost half of the residents within the building filing an organized petition of sorts, requesting that some sort of financial retribution be paid, which led to the Regional Vice President of the building's ownership group having to come to the complex and address all of the concerns. His response, and I'm paraphrasing a bit here, "too bad, there will be no show of good faith, financial or otherwise, in response to the hardships you've experienced." This property used to be called Symphony Place, and at this point I believe they rebranded specifically to escape the negative reviews that have haunted this residence for what I assume has been a long time. I feel somewhat foolish for overlooking them myself when I moved in. But learn from my mistake and don't live here.
Constant water outages leaving you not able to shower or make dinner, elevators can take up to 20 minutes, construction is extremely slow and management was not upfront about it. We had no idea the building was going to part take in renovations when we signed our lease and have been living in a construction zone for 6 months. Hallways smell of curry. Outdoor area has one tiny grill that can fit one piece of meat on it and only one lounge chair as the others were completely broken. Can almost guarantee there will be a homeless person in the skyway if you choose to exit the building that way so it frequently smells of urine. Very very high priced for an old building with major issues.
If you like living without water, elevators, skyway access, pool access; having very lazy concierges, and any work order taking several weeks - this is the place for you! When the hot water runs out - do not fear - they have a deal set up with the YWCA for free showers!! AND you can always be sure that any complaints you have will go unanswered. Was really excited when I first moved in here but can't wait to move down the street where I can recive what was promised to me.
This place is falling apart. They're spending loads of money making it look nice, but beneath all that, it's a wreck. Lost access to hot water 4 times in the last 2 weeks with no notice, and there have been at least 2 major floods in the last few months. They have taken away the skyway access and swimming pool for several weeks so far, without giving us any decrease in rent. My neighbors have mold in their apartment, but management wouldn't bring in professionals to deal with it. Last summer, we lost air conditioning for months, making the place really just unlivable. The horrible fumes from renovations (tub spray enamel) come through into neighboring units, fill the halls, and management tells us it's totally safe to breathe (but the workers said otherwise). Super sketchy all around, totally not worth the rent they charge. They seriously need to spend that money on plumbing, modern air/heat units, and replacing windows, but it appears they decided sparkly countertops were more important.
To start off, the building is skyway connected and I walk 5 minutes to work so I can't complain about the location. The apartment unit is planned very well. I can barely hear my roommate's blasting music if we both have our doors closed. The rooms are spacious and have great views. I have a corner apartment so I love the number of windows we have. We haven't turned on the AC in two months because it's already cool in the apartment, but I'm not sure how that's gonna reflect on the winter. The management is helpful and has gotten everything fixed within the next day when we put in a request. One of my favorite things to do is getting into the hot tub after a long day of work. The amenities are great! However, there really needs to be more elevators. 3 for 26 floors often means waiting for the elevator for a while. The apartment is also so big that I haven't been able to meet many people and there are people of all ages and lifestyles living here.
Symphony Place is a luxury apartment located right in center of Downtown Minneapolis and is blocks away from fine restaurants, bars, trails and parks. The apartment has great downtown views and gets plenty of daylight. There are quite a few amenities and all are well-maintained and justifies the luxury downtown living.
Great for younger professionals! Excellent views and excellent management. There is security and front desk people 24/7 who will get your packages for you. Great place to live overall!
Absolutely love my place and the building! Currently going through the early stages of renovating everything in the building. Management is amazing to work with and every one is very friendly. Recently put in a new air conditioning unit for the building that took longer than expected but management kept everyone informed of what was going on, provided food and refreshments a couple times during the process, offered to check on pets and to bring them to the leasing office where there was air conditioning and free access to two pools during the entire time the building was without air conditioning. All the concierge staff are fun and friendly. Definitely will go out of thier way to help you or just chat with you. The apartment has a ton of space in each room and large closets by the entrance. It's a place full of young professionals and is close to everything! Definitely worth the money!
Being connected to the skyway is nice, walkable to tons of great restaurants and things to do. They do answer maintenance requests pretty fast and are good about letting us know if they need to enter the apartment for anything. New management this year, so far so good, though a few hiccups at first. The combo washer/dryer is not my favorite, but it works well if you ask them to clean the filter every once in a while.
The really great thing about this apartment is the location. You are in close walking distance from some of the best bar/eateries in downtown Minneapolis including The Local and Britt's. In the summer it is great to be able to walk one block to Nicollet Mall and a little bit further for Twins games. In the winter you are connected to the skyway and can get pretty much anywhere downtown without ever going outside. As for the apartment, the 2 BRs (Redwood model) are very spacious. My roommate had a love seat and I had a full sectional and they both fit comfortably in the living room. The bedrooms are large enough to have a queen bed and a desk. The work out facility is not good but is functional. Parking is tight and not good for large vehicles but is covered. Overall this apartment has been good and staffing is extremely kind and helpful.
