Known for rugged hills and rolling countryside mixed with developed areas called boroughs, the southern portion of Allegheny County remains a beautiful compliment to nearby city life in Pittsburgh. Located about 14 miles southeast of Pittsburgh, it takes about an hour to reach the city's center. One of Pennsylvania’s largest areas, South Allegheny consists of several towns and suburbs set in an idyllic landscape. Great destinations include historic Kennywood Park, which first opened in 1899 and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

Property Ratings at Bower Hill Apartments
There is nothing luxury about this place anymore. It used to be a lovely place to live back in the day, but it is now run down, dingy, and in disrepair. The pool wasn't open for the entire last season or two. Sketchy people have been moving in more and more. It is often very difficult for guests or visitors to find a parking spot. The pothole-filled parking lot and the falling down garages make the place look "down market." Maintenance indoors and within each unit has been a problem.

We're sorry to hear about your recent experience. We strive to maintain a high standard of living for all our residents. Your feedback is valuable and will be used to improve our facilities and services. Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts.
I find it amusing they call themselves luxury and yet the garages look they are made of cardboard and falling apart, ceiling tiles in hallways are wet and in danger of falling. The washer on the 7th floor has been full of water from a water leak in February and as of June it is still sitting there. Pam is two faced and will lie directly to your face and the property company is the same. Had over $1,000 power bill our first 2 months because the air-conditioning didn't work and it took 3 months to get fixed. It took 8 months and us treating to withhold rent before our move in list got fixed. The biggest kick is that they will not renew your lease if you complain about your living conditions.
This is a very good place to live. In this complex there are so many trees. Pam and Kevin doing the best they can given the limitations they face. Bravo!
This is the worst apartment to live. It in demand just because of its location in a good school district. We should not talk about maintenance as it never happens here. Parking is another problem. This apartment does not have enough parking. Parking garages are costly and have rodent. This apartment is really a mess. Several pot holes throughout the apartment roads. All in all this place is not suitable for human habita.
I love it here. The building has problems but so does every other apartment building in the area. The staff are great people . They try to help with everything they can even if it isnt in there job description. I love most of the residents but some causes problems and makes messes then complains about it. You can not blame the staff for some of the problems goin unfixed if they do not have the right things to fix the problem or people to help. People should understand things happen . My comment to some people is. IF YOUR NOT HAPPY LIVING IN HERE MOVE.
Great place to live with great neighbors. Ample parking when you include the garages you can rent. The staff is wonderful always trying to help the best they can, the maintenance guy is only one person but does the absolute best he can including coming out on weekends when the boiler acts up and we need hot water, he leaves his family and comes. He could use some help for sure and the system needs updated that would help him alot. I have never seen a bug in my apartment and honestly the trash only gets backed up when someone clogs the trash chute on the weekend but it gets fixed right away on Monday. This is a great place to live
I would like to commend the building manager and maintenance for caring about the tenants that live here!! My family had some issues because we were affected by the fire, but it's something we had to deal with. We had to stay in a motel!! But let me just say, I truly appreciate how we were treated and how hard your team worked to get things done!!
Its worst place to live. People are just live there because of the best school district. Lots of rats, parking issues, rodents damaging cars, now roaches in few flats, trash smell over the weekends and Monday. worst management. For every small maintenance need to wait for several months, often leakages in bathrooms, hot water issue. Its just a hell. I have proofs for these issues.

I am so sorry you feel this way about us. COVID has done so much to alter all of us life is different than we ever imagined which also includes trying to get parts in which does delay maintenance it also has affected getting a full staff we continue to try to get the right person with that said we do everything we can to meet the needs of our valued residents. As far as rodents and roaches we are roach free unless it is not reported which can be a problem as we want to treat right away this can be caused by warehouse grocery stores and apartments not being free of a food source. But we do have a exterminator that takes care so such problems as far as rats this can be common in Pittsburgh but is monitored monthly. Lets talk and see if we can clear up all your concerns I am happy to help.
It is good because of its location. Apartment size good and upper floors get good sun light. Laundry at each floor...But to live there maintenance is topmost priority which is worst here.
Messiest building, yuckiest pool, Leakage from roof in every apartment and not repaired for months after repeated reminders. Frequently and messily hoarded Trash rooms, Stinky hallways. They just take your money and give nothing in return. No parking spaces, no hot water, no broken thing will be repaired. And and I see a lot of 1 star reviews and not sure how the average still shows 4.5.

I am sorry you feel this way we have been going through some changes during COVID getting a replacement for our last porter but we are in search of the perfect commercial cleaner and believe we have found them I too love to have a very clean building so this should be resolved. The gets yucky when it is closed because we do not treat the water but our pool cover broke and we are waiting for our new cover to come in since the pandemic it seems to take longer getting orders in for about everything which is frustrating for all of us. Take the time to come and talk to me I am happy to talk about your concerns together I am sure we can make your home a place you can be proud of that is our goal we value our residents and their concerns.
It is very hard to get the maintenance done. No specific log is maintained for the complains made. Cleaning is so bad, you will feel the Cigarette smoke smell everywhere inside the building especially in corridors. No actions will be taken, we pay the trash fee but not allowed to throw any big trash like furniture for which we have to pay in addition. We will not get Hot water when required. All the rules are applied only for the tenants and if we question or ask anything that will not be done. Tenants has to follow up regularly to get the job done. Carpet are old, will not be replaced and we will be fined for the old carpets as well. Since this is a good school area people are getting compromised else would have left long back. The staff is friendly but that alone will not work to run the apartment. Everything has a limit.
Messy corridors, laundry rooms, lobbies. Not cleaned for close to 6 months now. Corridors stinking with cigar smells. There is never enough manpower. Just one maintenance guy who is hard to be tracked and you can never have a problem fixed in less than few months with multiple reminders. Staffs are friendly but can never get the job done due to manpower issues.
There is no Laundry Room on each floor. Garages are expensive. Parking Lot is not enough. They are very slow at solving problems. But they always remind you if they need anything. Mail Room not secure. My 3 orders disappeared. When you say a problem, the manager can say to you ”there is no problem before you” If you don't like the apartment and want to get out, they want 2 months payments. But they don't make the apartment livable. If they maintain the apartment with the rent they receive, they will get happy/satisfied customers.
The school is just opposite to apartment and is very convenient for kids. Management is very responsive to maintenance requests. Laundry is very clean and convenient. Apartment has nice resting area at 1st floor. It has a very big free storage area which is very convenient for me. Parking lots were always available for me. Rent is affordable. Good to see seniors.
The team Pam and Kevin doing wonderful Job! It’s a little pricey because it’s just opposite to Mt Lebanon School district- Hoover Elementary and just 5 blocks away from middle school. Please note Mt Lebanon is one of the best school district in entire Pittsburgh! And yes Seniors are living here and most of them are always friendly to me! It’s a good neighborhood overall!
Very highly priced and zero percent maintenance. I mobed in before 2 years and all windows are leaking since the day I moved in. Still it’s not fixed. Closed garage is 100$ with mouse and holes in the wall!
This is retirement home if you are with children with family, Do not go to live there. No maintenance , un-higenic ( never clean air filter, need to change on own expense ), parking problem. You don’t get clean home (if get you are lucky) but expection is to be clean while leaving. Only apartment with Very good school district but walking is terrible specifically during winter time and no lights on Hill and slippery. And Manager is not supportive and too much restrictions.
As a resident with my wife of 5 years here is a little insight into Bower Hill 3. Pros: The building is nice and big with a big pool(not heated). Great for if you have kids or grandchildren like we do. Also the property has an excellent location in a very nice community with lots of diversity. Cons: WOW, where do we start? Parking is atrocious, there's never enough spots for all the vehicles. The parking lot is very poorly lit so it is definitely eery outside at night or early morning. The garages are falling down and they look absolutely awful. Probably the worst eye sore in the whole area. The manager in the office is heard constantly saying nasty things about the tenants and using extremely nasty language throughout the day. I have never complained about her use of choice words but it would be a different story if I were one of the many families with children here that were subject to hearing that kind of language. She can be incredibly rude to tenants faces as well. As for maintenance. It's extremely slow to get any maintenance requests done, he's usually too busy in the office sitting around for the better part of his day. If you are lucky enough to track him down in the halls or elevators he usually will say he'll get to it but never does. They have had several janitors to help clean the building and some were better than others but they go through so many it's hard to keep up with how well they are actually doing. I apologize if this discouraged you from wanting to come check this place out and these are just some of my wife and I observations. For the most part the tenants are very friendly and the kids can be a little loud but they are kids, so it doesn't bother us.
