Savage-Guilford is a peaceful neighborhood 18 miles south of Baltimore and 25 miles north of Washington, DC between Interstate 95 and Highway 1. Thanks to its ideal location and great amenities, the area attracts commuters and families. Renters will find an array of moderately priced apartments and townhomes that make up the rental scene. Within town, the Middle Patuxent River and Stone Lake provide renters with a variety of water sports as well as parks and trails to explore. Shops and restaurants are scattered throughout the area, but the Historic Savage Mill, a restored cotton mill turned into a trendy shopping mall, is a favorite spot for shopping and dining. Right outside of town, residents have access to more family-friendly fun at the Autobahn Indoor Speedway, Arundel Mills, and parks surrounding the Patuxent River.

Property Ratings at Bowling Brook Apartments
My partner and I have been living here for over a month now. I like this community quite a bit. I like everything from the overall aesthetic of the communities buildings, the apartment home itself, and the grounds. In the month and a half I've been here I swear I've seen groundskeepers here sometimes twice in one week! It's one of the few communities I've seen with a tennis court available which make my partner and I happy. The fitness center is sufficient. The pool is large. The picnic area is a plus. Let's talk about the apartment itself. It's modern with a homey charm. The thing I like most is the layout. It's a one bedroom with a den/office and TWO full baths. I'm a bathroom hog, so this has been magic for my partner and I. I'm also very happy with the responsiveness of the team at the leasing office, and maintenance teams. Becca was our leasing agent, and she was kind, communicative and professional. Thank you.
I lived here since December 2015. I really don't like living at bowling brook apartment anymore. There rent is way too high. There maintenance doesn't come on time. They staff are not polite. I would not recommend people living there.

We are happy to know you've lived here since 2015! Sorry that you've shared such a poor review but would love to make it up to you. Feel free to reach out to us if you need anything. We're happy to help in any way.
I have been living in Bowling Brook for two years now, and my experience has been incredibly disappointing. The gym facilities were in poor condition throughout my entire tenure, with several machines constantly out of order and "out of order" signs hanging on them. The management did not use the one-month closure of the gym for exterior revamping to address the gym equipment, which was in dire need of an upgrade. To make matters worse, the management company increased my rent by $200 in my first year and recently sent a renewal letter with a rent increase of $305. It is clear that they prioritize meeting market demand over the well-being of their current residents, and they show little concern for those who may struggle to afford the higher rent. Additionally, the management team seems to have little regard for resident input on community changes. They frequently send out letters about community updates but offer no means for residents to voice their opinions or concerns. Lastly, the hot water usage is severely limited, with the hot water running out after just one person takes a shower. Although I reported the issue to maintenance, the temporary fixes they applied did not solve the problem. Instead of installing a new water heater, they applied a temporary patch that failed to address the root cause of the issue. Overall, my experience at Bowling Brook has been disappointing, and I would not recommend this complex to anyone looking for a comfortable and accommodating living environment

Hi, we're disappointed to hear of the negative experience you had with us. Gym equipment has been updated recently and is getting very good usage and feedback! $500 rent increase in 2 years seems off. We do offer different rates for different terms, so perhaps the best offer was not a $305 increase in your most recent offer. We definitely appreciate our residents and value their living at Bowling Brook, as well as, you staying here! Please feel free to call us with any of your service needs and allow us the chance to meet your standards as we do with most of your fellow neighbors!
I want to start off by saying that Ashley from the leasing office has been awesome! she was always quick to respond to our messages and was always very helpful. Other employees at the leasing office were also very kind and respectful. Our experience here has been nothing short of exceptional. Everything worked great; lights, water, washer/dryer etc. We've never had any noise complaints and we don't recall hearing neighbors being loud. Bowling Brook always kept us updated for any maintenance that was going on. the gym was great! As a person that likes to workout, I found their gym to be sufficient enough for anybody who wants to workout. The pool was also another thing that we really liked. It has an area where you can grill and if you wanted to have guests with you that don't have pool passes, you could pay a very small amount. very worth it. They have a tennis and volleyball court which my family and I utilized a lot. It was very fun. We liked how everything was so close. BWI airport was just 15-20mins away, there's a walking trail, restaurant, and a very good bakery within walking distance from bowling brook, an amazing brewery that's like 2 miles away, laurel shopping that's not too far, and if you're military, it's 18-20mins away from fort meade. There's nothing to not like about this place! we're very grateful for Bowling brook!
We’ve been here for a little less than a year and have enjoyed living here. We’ve had no real problems with the apartment. You get so much more space than most apartments for the price and everything is nicely maintained, feels new. Love the balcony. Only small complaint is you can hear your neighbors when they’re loud. Would definitely recommend moving here!
This place is within 15 minutes of just about any store you could want. It is easily accessible from most major highways and is convenitlenlt located just off of Highway 1. The aprtment build quality is the only thing i would knock. Dont move here expecting perfect, just understand that this is not a luxery apartment and you will be pleased! The mainentance team is lightning quick (ive never had to wait more than 24 hours for ANY ticket), the front office is super helpful, and the parking situation is superb (No Pass required, no towing, guest friendly).
Why are you hesitant about moving here? Where else will you find a nice apartment complex that doesn't charge you $3000 to blink? You have a bike room, bathroom inside of your room to hide from annoying family members. The staff, led by Ashley, will make you feel like home. Anytime I needed something, it was done within a reasonable amount of time. Thank you for my experience!
An amazing place to live extremely clean and organized. The maintenance service is very efficient. The apartments are very careful. There is no noise pollution in this property.
If I could rent to buy here, I would. There are several floor plans available, and my significant other and I chose a split level, top floor apartment. There is plenty of balcony space, and the sun-room is gorgeous. When we were at the leasing office trying to decide if this would be our next home, a resident who was picking up a package assured us that they loved it and had no complaints. She told us that it is quiet, safe, and the rent does not increase much yearly. I have to say, she was correct. We were moving because our last 2 apartment complexes raised the rent to amounts that were ridiculous. One complex raised the rent 300 after one year, and the other 175. Luckily, the rent did not increase at all when we renewed our lease here. The staff and maintenance are helpful, friendly, and respond to inquiries in a timely manner. The neighborhood is GORGEOUS. Lots of nature and trees, and literally across the street from one of the most gorgeous parks in the area, the Savage Mill Trail, which is along the Patuxent River. I love to walk and bike the neighbor hood and the trail. Additionally, Historic Savage Mill is right across the street, and has plenty of antique, local shops and restaurants. I also love how we are only less than 30 minutes from Baltimore and DC, and only less than 15 minutes from Columbia and Arundel Mills. There has been a lot of new shopping centers built in the area as well. The only complaint I have about living here is the walls are a little thin. I really only notice this in the master bathroom for some reason. Other than that, we have a spacious home in a beautiful, safe neighborhood that I absolutely love.
My family and I have been living here for a little over 5 months and I love everything about it. There is so much to do from the swimming pool, racquetball, and volleyball. So much to keep our family busy, did I mention the beautiful community? There is so much to enjoy on our family walks from the savage mill, walking trails, parks, and large grass hills that we can't wait for winter to go sledding. The maintenance staff is great and the office staff is very friendly! Great place to call home!
Older, recently renovated property consisting of numerous smaller buildings each with approximately 10 apartments per building. Our 2 bedroom "major/minor" apartment has large master bedroom, small 2nd bedroom (we use as office), 2 full bathrooms, dining area, living room w/ additional sun room, large balcony/porch (unscreened), electric kitchen w/ dishwasher, microwave, & garbage disposal. Washer/dryer in apartment. Pros: Located in the Howard County section of Laurel, MD in a pleasant neighborhood near Historic Savage Mill. Property is situated on slightly hilly terrain with expansive, well maintained , grass covered grounds. Amenities include clubhouse w/ exercise facility, raquetball court, management office, large outdoor pool, tennis courts, volleyball court. Rental rates are, in my opinion & based on my own extensive research of what's available the area, an excellent value. Management & maintenance staff have been professional, responsive & prompt in all of our experiences. Apartment living room/sun room, dining area, balcony/porch, and master BR are all nice sized. Ample parking. Cons: Noise from adjacent units (particularly from tenants moving about in apartment above) can be loud at times. Unfortunately this is typical of most apartments. We have learned to live with it. Kitchen is small and, although recently renovated, still has laminate counter tops. Could stand to have more storage Closets space (his & hers non-walk-in) a little lacking in master BR. Conclusion: Bowling Brook is a great combination of location, relative quality, and value in the Laurel, MD area. Certainly worth considering.
I lived here for two years (2012-2014) and let me tell you, when you are paying as much for rent on a one bedroom apartment as you could on a mortgage, why would you stick around? The apartments are dated, but if you want a fully renovated one, expect to pay a couple hundred extra for it. The walls are beyond thin and the houses leak air during the winter. When it came to getting back my security deposit, they withheld a portion of it because there was some oven cleaner residue left, which was easy enough to wipe off with a wet rag, but, apparently they had to hire someone to do that and charge it against my security deposit. When I tried reaching out to Knott Realty all I got was crickets -- no returned calls, emails or letters. Typical. I highly suggest you look elsewhere. There's a wonderful community that's new that I moved to instead of this place. I mean, it's amazing, the same price and I get walls I can't hear people through and a respectful staff -- which is hugely important.
Bowling Brooks Apartments located in a quiet, serene neighborhood near Historic Savage Mills, near the Baltimore and Washington D.C. area. The location has a beautiful, natural landscape, which is great for active individuals who like to go for a run from time to time. The Leasing office also has fitness equipment and a racquetball court in the Fitness Center, as well as, a tennis ball court and swimming pool outdoors. The apartments were completely renovated over the past few years. The staff in the Leasing Office were very helpful when I needed assistance or help with anything. Maintenance team responds immediately to any work orders, which is a big plus. They do allow up to 2 pets (dogs must be 35 lbs or less). They are also military friendly, offering 5% off monthly rent for service members.
My husband and I have been living at Bowling Brook for almost one year now; our lease is almost up and we wanted to write a review. Bowling Brook is wonderful in every way we can imagine. The office staff is friendly and understanding. If anything goes wrong in terms of maintenance with your apartment, the office staff will put in your request right away and maintenance will probably be there in about 30 minutes or so. If it is an emergency, they'll be there even sooner. The location is fantastic as well. We have enjoyed being so close to Savage Mill and the gorgeous trail right across from our apartment. Unfortunately we will be moving soon; the only reason for that is the cost. The cost is a little much but in every other respect, I would highly recommend this apartment complex. It never hurts to stop by and say, "Hello" does it? Happy apartment hunting! :)
Just moved in late last month and soo far am enjoying every bit of the place. One amazing thing that I liked most was the immediate plowing of the snow that hit the DMV last week. Awesome community.
il keep this short and sweet.....been here for 3 years....great and i mean GREAT apartments....awesome locale......serene....great office staff......WALLET CRUSHER....if u can handle the prices go for it.
