With its cozy neighborhoods, wide sidewalks, and corner markets, Germantown is everything you love about Louisville, only quieter. Germantown is located between Gross Avenue and Barret Avenue, south of East Breckinridge Street. Bellarmine University is a few minutes southeast of the neighborhood while the University of Louisville is to the southwest, making this a perfect location for visiting either campus.
Germantown dates back to the 1870s, when immigrants from Germany settled the area. The neighborhood is growing rapidly in popularity, mainly because of its funky, historic vibe and proximity to downtown -- just two miles northwest. Germantown residents enjoy quick access to I-65, which a few blocks west of the neighborhood. Germantown is south of Paristown Point, between Shelby Park and Tyler Park. Other nearby neighborhoods include Merriwether, Deer Park, and Cherokee Triangle.

Property Ratings at Bradford Mills Lofts
The team is fabulous and really pay attention to resident needs. I love the historic building and aesthetic. The gym is the best one I've ever seen. Great place to live.

Hello, thank you for taking the time to leave a review for us at Bradford Mills Lofts. We're happy we could meet your expectations! Please don't hesitate to reach out if there's anything else we can do for you! Thank you, Katie
Everyone is receiving renewal rates of $200 or more every year since I moved in 2019. It doesn't matter if you're a good tenant who pays your rent on time--they will raise your rent 15% or more without providing additional amenities.

Hi, we regret to hear that you had a negative experience with us, but would appreciate the chance to turn your experience around. Please reach out to us at bradfordmillslofts@venterraliving.com when you can so we can address this situation directly. Thank you and have a great day! Shelby
For the past year I have lived in one of the B3 floor plans with a roommate. The B3 floor plan is Bradford mills lofts most common 2-bedroom 2 bath floor plans. Here is a list of things I liked and didn’t like about my past year. I’m not getting anything for this review. I just want to help everyone make an informed decision. Pros: -#1 pro Very well managed. Any problem I had was addressed before the end of the next day. -I love the large windows. - safe packages drop off. - New smart home. I can lock my door and manage thermostat from my phone. -Great gym- if you like lifting weight the gym is great. Not many places have the equipment to do Olympic lifts, but BML does and I appreciate it. They also have tons of machines if that’s more your jam. -respectful neighbors- Despite the thin walls between units, everyone around me has been respectful and kept the noise to a reasonable level. Cons: -#1 con The 2 bedroom lay out (B3)- this is honestly the worst thing about this whole place. The most common floor plan for a 2 bedroom does not have ceilings over the bedrooms. If you are living with a roommate, you will hear absolutely EVERYTHING. I promise I am not overexaggerating. If the air is not actively running, I can hear my roommate sigh. It really creates the illusion of no personal space. Also, the cute barn doors they opted for do not lock and there is no bathroom door to the connected bathroom in the main bedroom. I hope you don’t mind your roommate hearing you do your business because I assure you, they will. I also hope you are on the exact same sleep/wake cycle as your roommate because their bedroom light will also shine into your room if they are up later than you. And if they wake up before you no matter how hard they try to be quiet you will hear them. The beautiful original wood floors all creak and remember no ceilings so you will hear them shuffling around in their dresser, the kitchen, and their bathroom. -poor lighting at night- Bring lots of floor lamps -the windows don’t open Overall, I loved my year here at BML but I will not be staying. If you are rooming with a Signiant other and use the 2nd bedroom as an office or something it may work for you, but if you are with a roommate, I would not recommend this place. UNLESS you are lucky enough to get a corner unit (B1 or B2 floor plans). Those units have ceilings and would likely solve many of the issues I encountered. Or if you got a one bedroom this place would be worth it.

So sorry for my late response to this review! This must have slipped threw the cracks. Thank you so much for your honest review. We truly appreciate reviews like this because it shows us what we are doing right and what we need to work on. Bradford has lots of beauty and historic charm, but it does have some imperfections. To keep the original over 100 year old flooring, there will be more noise than most, but it always depends on the neighbors. We have TONS of natural light but at night it can get dark with just ceiling fan lighting. The apartments are stocked with tons of outlets on each wall because of this. Again thank you so much for your feedback and if you ever have additional questions please don't hesitate to give us a call. Thank you, Katie
We have lived in Bradford Mills Lofts for 3 years, being the first 'wave' of residents upon their opening in 2017; moving out in 2020 to become homeowners. Since Venterra Living took over managing the property, I have nothing but positive things to say about this apartment complex. The amenities are well kept and clean (pool, gym, court yard, grill, lounge room). Staff provide prompt and clear communication. Service requests are done quickly and the gentleman who does them is extremely courteous. There are organized and designated mail/package areas, to which we have never had any packages come up missing. We experienced considerate and thoughtful neighbors. The move-out process was fair and management was extremely helpful. The community manager, Katie, treats you like a person- not an apartment number or dollar sign. Where Bradford Mills Lofts stands today, I would absolutely recommend renting from this company.

Thank you so much for taking time out of your day to share your feedback and positive comments. Thanks again for the recommendation, and have an amazing day! Thank you, Katie
I’m honestly someone who never leaves negative reviews, but I’m here to warn you: don’t do it to yourself. Seriously. This place is not worth the money or the admittedly stylish appearance. It is by far the loudest place I have ever lived in or visited. You can frequently hear dogs barking, neighbors sneezing, and toilets flushing. While the amenities seem nice, rarely does a day go by that something isn’t broken or under maintenance. Whether it’s the pool, the gym, the garage, or the elevator, you can expect a notification 3-4 times a week that something is out of order. The parking situation is atrocious. There are not enough spots for all residents, so you may have to randomly park on the street where a number of cars have been subject to a late night hit and run. If you are lucky enough to get a spot, oftentimes you will be stuck with a space that is at least a foot more narrow than the standard parking spot, so prepare to barely be able to get out of your car. Last but certainly not least is the internet company that you’re forced to join upon moving in. Get used to random disconnections, unreliable speed, and never knowing when they’re going to charge you for the month

Hello, So sorry for my late response! This review must have gotten lost in the mix. I wanted to reach out and say thank you for taking time out of your day to leave a review. I hate to hear you did not have a good experience here at Bradford Mills Lofts. The building is over 100 years old and though it has amazing charm, with the original wood, you might have more noise than most, but it also depends on your neighbor too. We are happy to assist with any noise concerns one might have. Parking, We do tell our prospects about the free parking on the street/parking lot and how the lot gets full depending on the time of day you get home. Since we are nestled in the Germantown Neighborhood, our property line is not large enough to add more parking spaces. We do offer covered parking as a rental if one might need that. I do hope you reconsider us if you decide to look at apartments again. We have added a lot since 2020. Thank you, Katie
If you are looking for a super sleek loft as your new home... Bradford Mills Lofts are for you!!! I have lived here for about a month and I LOVE IT!!! Between the high ceilings, gorgeous original wood floors, huge window scape with pull down shades, and the wonderful staff on hand... you can not go wrong!!! It’s high end living at it’s best?
