National publications constantly place Pittsburgh near the top of the list for most livable cities in America, and it’s easy to see why. The city has a rich history as an industrial and economic hub, which led to the construction of many grand buildings and public sculptures which still stand today. Downtown in particular is rich with beautifully preserved buildings and lush public parks dating back well over a century, giving the entire community a timeless atmosphere.
Pittsburgh is split into three sections by the rivers passing through the city: Downtown (a.k.a. “The Golden Triangle), the North Side, and the South Side. Each has its fair share of attractions and landmarks: the North Side is home to Acrisure Stadium and PNC Park (making it a perfect area for sports fans), the South Side features big, beautiful greenways and refurbished steel mills, and Downtown is where you’ll find the most variety in dining, nightlife, and entertainment.

Would definitely recommend renting at Brett Moore at Penn Center. I love my home, and have no complaints. The maintenance staff is professional and completes requests right away. The management in the leasing office always responds quickly, and go above and beyond to help me when I need something. Would definitely recommend to friends and family if you are looking for a clean building with great residents and staff.
Property Manager at Brentmoor at Penn Center, Responded To This Review
Thank you for the lovely review and fantastic 5-star rating for Brentmoor at Penn Center. We appreciate your recommendation, and we thank you for all the wonderful comments about our awesome staff. We think our community is very special, and we are thrilled that you agree! Thank you for choosing Brentmoor at Penn Center! Best, Paul Rutherford | Property Manager
Great location and quiet, but units are old, carpeting really needs to be replaced with flooring (but that probably won’t happen with greedy/poor management), kitchens and appliances are very outdated, yet rent still increases annually with no updates in the units other than faucet nozzles. Close parking is unlikely after 8pm, so prepare to walk a lot.
I wish I could attach pictures to this review, but apparently that't not an option here. Let me highlight this mess: -Parking lot always full of trash and overflowing dumpster -Elevators are unreliable (and we have many elderly tenants) -There was an extensive fire here about a year and a half ago and the damage has yet to be addressed!! Total eyesore and safety hazard -Swimming pool closed from July 6-August 1 for remodeling (really?I They chose the middle of summer to do this?!) -Abandoned cars in the visitors section of the parking lot that have been there for more than a year (flat tires, rusty) -Property manager (Jessica)is completely unresponsive and never in the office during business hours. I suspect this is because she lives on site with her boyfriend and his kid and she is always hanging out in her apartment instead of the office --- no wonder this place looks like a dumpsite! Save yourself some money and aggravation and look elsewhere. It's a shame because this place used to be nice... when it was under old management. I cannot wait until my lease is up next month!!
I love living at Brentmoor! The apartments are very spacious and can accommodate large furniture. The office staff is professional and works with you when you have an issue. They really work hard to make all residents happy and were very knowledge during the leasing process. Maintenance requests are done in a timely manner and both Bryan and Rich are friendly and responsive. The cleaner is always busy around the building making sure it looks its best. They recently changed the hallway paint and carpet and they look chic and modern. I definitely recommend Brentmoor to my friends when they are looking for a place to live.
HERE IN BRENTMORE APTS. YOU CAN HAVE ALL KIND OF COMFORT FOR REASONABLE PRICE. MAINTENANCE,POOL,FITNESS ETC. VERY QUITE ENVIRONMENT, AND VERY CLEAN AREA. CLOSE TO EVERY THING.SHOPPING MALL, GROCERIES AND SMALL STORES.
I seriously have nothing bad to say about the apartment building . I moved to Pittsburgh a year and a half ago by myself because I wanted to do city life . This building is within 7-10 miles of everywhere in Pittsburgh . The staff have been friendly and helpful especially the maintenance crew .. Quickly fix anything there has been an issue with. There is a laundry room and garbage shoot on every floor , I am lluxky enough to be right across the hall from both and right next to the elevators . My building also has a gym and an indoor pool. In on the 8th floor and have a beautiful view from my balcony . Thanks !
Brentmoor Apartments is a pleasant living facility with a variety of amentities including but not limited to an indoor swimming pool, a communal library, and an exercise room. The tenets are pleasant and welcoming.
I have been at the Brentmoor apartments for a little over 2 years now and honestly these are the best apartments i have been in since I have lived in Pittsburgh. You really do have the best of both worlds, having the view of beautiful mountains but still minutes from downtown and city life. Stores and restaurants are minutes away, as well as a PAT bus stop right outside the front door. The apartments themselves are all quite spacious and theres is more closet storage space than I could ever need. If you're looking for a place in Pittsburgh there really is no better apartment than Brentmoor at Penn Center.
Awesome apartment complex. Jessica, the property manager is awesome and always very professional. Bryan and Richard the maintenance men always respond to maintenance issues usually the same day or the very next day. I love this complex because the people who live here make it a wonderful place to live. D. Scott
My first thought, when looking at my soon to be living space, was I could call this home. For a one bedroom apartment, there is a great amount of space. More than any of the other places I looked at. When I walked out onto the porch and saw the view, the deal was sealed. Consider this, I always have a place to park my car off the street, there is an indoor swimming pool open all year, a small gym, a library with wifi, a bus stop directly in front of the building and 24hr maintenance. There is enough room in my apartment for me, my boyfriend and cats without us all bumping into each other and even more space to have parties. Affordable, well kept, friendly and helpful staff, spacious and a good area. These are all the things that come to mind when someone asks me about my apartment.
I love the location, but the rent is too high for what they offer.
The Brentmoor @ Penn Center is close enough to the city for convenience yet far enough away to feel cozy. The units are large and well kept and the neighbors are great. The building has alot of usefull amenities, its wonderfull to swim any time of the year. Office staff are friendly and the handy men solve any problem quickly! It is a fantastic place to call home.
Brentmoor Apts. is the ideal home, I call mine, The spacious floor plans are of a great design, Indoor pool, party room and sundeck are devine, There's a wonderful library where you can borrow books or spend time, Small pets are permitted for an extra fee, it is your dime, Experienced maintenance staff prevent all grime, Elevator building, no steps to climb, Plus only a few feet to the bus line, Laundry room on every floor which is sublime, On a large balcony you can enjoy a margarita with lime, The Wilkins Twp. Police patrol the area to prevent crime, With the exercise room, your physique will be prime, I hope you have enjoyed THE BRENTMOOR APT. RHYME
I highly recommend the Brentmoor! The apartments are spacious and cozy. I love all the amenities they have to offer the tenants. The pool and the fitness room are my favorites! The community has such a neighborly atmosphere! The managers and the rest of the staff are always so friendly and helpful.
Very happy living here except my balcony does more than leak when it rains. Furnace room has mold in it and big chunks of bldg. material is missing.
I have loved my tenancy at Brentmoor Apts. at 1100 Penn Center Blvd. since moving in. The staff is friendly, great sized apartments, and it has fantastic amenities(gym, pool, library, laundry facilities). I would recommend this apartment building to anyone looking to get an apartment.
I recently moved here I find the building to be lovely with nice amenities, among them, an indoor pool and a workout room with excellent equipment. the walls of the building have wall paper on the walls and beautiful carpeting. the entrance has an inviting look. The apartment has neutral carpeting , a newer kitchen with granite counter tops.Great lighting fixtures. they keep the building immaculate ,all of this for just a mid price rental. I am happy here an I know anyone would feel just as happy and comfortable here .
I relocated to Pittsburgh from NJ with my job, all on my way own without any family or friends. Now a year later I don't regret choosing The Brentmoor as my new home away from home. I have everything I could ever want and need right at my leisure. With the luxury of a laundry room, gym, sauna and pool right in the building it makes those weekends home most enjoyable. When my tub or sink drain gets clogged I simply submit a service request online and the maintenance man will be there the next day or so to fix it. Conveniently located off of business 22 I have easy access to the mall and major department stores. For the days I don't want to drive to work I can catch the bus right in front of the building that will take me downtown directly in front of my job. I love how diverse my neighbors are! The only cons I found living here were on the nights I had a friend over and the next day I was greeted with a noise violation notice slipped underneath my door. For the young adults you may find that a lot of the residents here are elderly, so if you tend to have a few friends over at night you'll eventually learn how to keep the noise down. Overall The Brentmoor is a great place to live, and I would recommend it to anyone!
I have been at Brentmoor for a little over 2 years and my overall experience has been positive. The apartments are bigger than anything else I've seen around this area. I love the my big spacious apartment and the amazing view that I have (my friends are all jealous ??). I had a few maintenance requests after I moved in - all of which were resolved within 24 hours, and the maintenance man is very friendly! The location is great, close to everything and I feel the pricing is pretty reasonable. The building is somewhat outdated on the exterior, but they redid the lobby and the apartments and the cleaning ladies keep all of the common areas and hallways very clean. I've never experienced bad food smells when walking through the halls like I've had in other apartments. And I've never experienced noise from any of my neighbors, everyone is very considerate and the walls are not paper thin so I don't hear my neighbors conversations or televisions. They also allow pets (within a certain weight range and breed), which is great for pet lovers. For non pet lovers the good thing is they do have rules that pets are to be carried through the hallways and the elevator so the building doesn't smell like pets live there too. The few negative things that I think people should know are.... 1. The parking is limited and it's sometimes hard to get a spot around the building late at night. I normally end up having to park in the overflow parking reserved for guests. 2. It is a building filled with mostly older people who are rather nosey but overall nice, I don't mind them but my neighbor who is a young man has had a lot of problems with them. 3. The property manager is really nice but I do not care for the assistant property manager she is very passive aggressive and rude but I haven't needed anything so I haven't had many interactions with her which is great!! And lastly 5. This building has a huge really nice party room but they won't allow anyone to use it?? I've heard that a few years ago a tenant abused the privilege and had a crazy party but how is that anyone else's fault? Other than that, I definitely recommend these apartments, they are bigger than anything else you will find in this area....believe me I checked!! If you are looking for a rental on this side of the city, this is a good place to be.
