Southwest Tallahassee isn't exactly south -- it's actually on the northwest side of downtown. The neighborhood is on the southern tip of the Ochlockonee River Wildlife Management Area, with the Talquin Wildlife Management Area on the west side. The vast Apalachicola National Forest is directly south of the neighborhood, making Southwest Tallahassee ideal for those who enjoy the outdoors and activities like hiking, fishing, and camping. Wooded and peaceful, Southwest Tallahassee is deceptively close to downtown and is less than five miles to Florida State University.

Property Ratings at Briarwood Apartments Phase I and II
This place has horrible management. They are very unprofessional. The maintenance men never fix anything. They come in your apartment at will without prior notice. One of the maintenance men is constantly hanging out smoking narcotics and drinking with some of the residents. The management staff does not care about the living conditions of the apartments or the tenants occupying these units. We were constantly receiving annoying notices on our doors pertaining to things that are not in violation of our lease agreement. For example: There is nothing in the lease agreement that states tenants are prohibited from using personal grills however, there was a notice posted on our doors pertaining to the use of grills. We've been without water for hours without management notifying the residents that they had individuals coming to work on plumbing issues. Document everything you give them, including your monthly rental payments. They are notorious for stating you owe them after you've already paid. The neighbors are constantly in your business and begging for money, etc. I wish my family and I would have never moved in here. I am ecstatic that we're no longer living here. It is not a friendly environment. Rent here at your own risk.
