Property Ratings at Briarwood at Central Park
I lived in Briarwood apartment for almost 3 and 1/2 years and following is my review about the community. Location for this place is nice, and it is convenient to travel multiple places from here. Quality of apartment is ok, not very great, you will often face maintenance issues. first 2 years of my stay, property management and maintenance staff were good, but last 1 and half year (2020 and 2021) it was horrible, management doesn't address your problem, half of the time you are not able to connect to leasing office, you drop voice mail and nobody would care to call you back. maintenance staff is really dumb, they don't understand the problem but keep on giving same answers irrespective of problem. Basically, they don't have knowledge, until and unless you escalate your maintain issue to management multiple times it will not be fixed. People who used to live earlier were nice and friendly, but in last 2 years management started renting to anybody and 8-10 folks used to live in 2 bed apartments. no cleanliness in the community common area, you will find animal waste all the places, dogs roaming around community without leash scaring you and your kids. No security at all in community, break-ins happen very often in the cars parked inside community. Move out experience was not good as well, management not doing inspection in front of you and putting charges on your settlement statement without your agreement. Overall I would say it is not a good place anymore to live.
Bed bugs. Cockroach. Don’t do it Like what the other post are saying the apartment is infested with bed bugs. Living here for 5 years now and this is my last. They've been doing a lot of repairs, to be fair that's a good thing. But when they tear your entire apartment apart then you find left over nails it's not ok. We have kids. They change management every year because of so much issues with the property. The maintenance crew never last except the main one. When you come here for a tour, remember to ask if your apartment has been treated with chemicals for bed bugs, cockroaches. Or ask if the building they're going to place you had bed bugs. As a matter of fact some previous tenants have an ongoing lawsuit against them. When they first told me i didn't believe the apartment was infested. Sorry to vent it out here, but clearing out your entire apartment for 4-6 weeks is not the fun. The pesticide crew will spray and you won't have access to your house for the entire day. Unless, you don't mind the side effect later on ( cancer ) By the way if you don't mind the low income housing across the street with cops in and out then this apartment is for you.
My apartment has not been updated for 14 years. I'd have to move out of it to have it updated even though my rent has gone up 10%plus every year for the last 4 years. The apartment below mine is the most recently renovated style and is really great for a studio. The primary reason I stay, even in my out-dated apartment, LOCATION!
briarwood community is ok to live. But it is required more attention in term of maintainance.
