If you haven’t been to South Laurel yet, imagine a hilly, wooded community with attractive houses and peaceful roads. Together with its manicured lawns and shady sidewalks, you might think this is a suburban neighborhood. Well, sort of – it is, after all, only 18 miles from DC -- but there’s much more to South Laurel. For one, the Patuxent Research Refuge is its backyard.
The vast Patuxent Research Refuge covers nearly 13,000 acres of land. It was established in 1936 by President Franklin D. Roosevelt to support wildlife research – the only one established for such a purpose. The refuge is ideal for birdwatching, hiking, and fishing. For those who prefer shopping to hiking, Baltimore Avenue is home to Towne Centre at Laurel, a large shopping plaza with a movie theater and several restaurants. Head into Downtown Laurel to visit the shops and restaurants along Main Street.

this is a very nice property and the quality match the price. the price increases due to the inflation and gradually becomes as expensive as (non-)budget apartment. So it may not be competitive with other (newer) properties in the coming years.

Briarwood is very clean, and keeps you up to date on information about the neighborhood. They really care about their community and tenants by doing little things for us in appreciation. Maintenance is quick and responsive to the tickets. Only minor downfall is someone in my building has roaches and i see them every once in a while. If you keep your house clean and spray for prevention on your own everything is fine. Briarwood had a mandatory extermination come out in September 2024 so they are on it and if you ever have a problem put a ticket in an Orkin will come out. They also do mandatory maintenance to homes as well such as changing the dryer filters, HVAC filter, checking smoke alarms etc. I’m not sure how often but mine was in October 2024. The parking spaces are a little tight. I say all this to say if you are looking for a good complex, live here i been here since March 2023. No bad experiences (cross fingers and pray).

Terrible experience living here. Would give a negative star if that would be possible. Been having to live with a broken fridge and broken thermostat for months and no one has done anything about it. No communication whatsoever and if I do get communication, it's misleading. Even tried contacting the manager and they don't even reply or step in where needed. And don't get me started on the passive aggressive attitude their office staff has. You definitely get what you pay for.

Nice place. But the applying part was dragged out more than what it needed to be. Gave me vibes of they don't care. I moved out from out of state. Maybe it would have been different if I was already from Maryland.

This is a very nice property. The price matches the quality of the apartment and the service. Good safety and neighborhood, and Laurel seems to be a good sleeping city for workers in DMV area.

Applying for an apartment was a little on the rough side because the first apt i applied for fell through because the people decided last min that they wanted to renew their lease. Clara was very helpful and found me another apt that met my needs. Maintenance does a good job but when it comes to something that constantly keeps having problems, they take their time instead of just replacing it. Overall I love this complex! Parking is not a problem where my building is other than the spaces being tight. A lot of kids in the neighborhood. Not many dogs that I have seen. Apartments are very spacious.

Definitely an older apartment building and the guidelines for what you can have on the decks is a little bit stricter than most. But the apartments have tons of space and they are generally clean and nice.

My apartment community is of utmost tranquility, there's fear of insecurity at all times. The environment is clean with a good landscaping making it topnotch. There's little or no threat from pests in the complex.

The community seems friendly and tends to keep to themselves. They aren't noisy or rude. It's a very quiet neighborhood with the exception of the train that passes by every now and then, but after a while, you barely notice. The place that my husband and I rent looks exactly like the pictures even when you furnish it. You get exactly what you pay for, but also will be expected to pay an amenity fee and pet fee every month (plus a one time pet deposit fee).

It's been great, nice and quiet. My neighbors keep to themselves which I love the space in my balcony so far. Everything's so good . When there's been a maintenance issue they have been taken care of in a timely manner.

Maintenance takes forever to service work order, walls and ceilings are very very thin if ever want peace and quiet this is not the place for you especially when you have inconsiderate neighbors.
Experience has been good for the most part. There a few things I’d suggest improvement on. I’ve been here for some time now and would appreciate things like, fresh pain in some areas, repairs, etc.

I am happy to call this place a home. It is a nice place to stay at a reasonable price. I guess Laurel is a city designed for home and apartment, so there is no large industry here (for big noise) but this city is close to a range of grocery markets. So living is convenient and quite here.

I love living here . I love the amenities as well as the apartment space The staff is super friendly and helpful.The area is nice and quiet and grounds are always kept clean.

The apt is so spacious! The bathroom is gorgeous. The neighborhood has plenty of parking for residents. The community is well kept and pet friendly!

It's great here I love my Long balcony able to decorate it. It's very quiet people are nice and it's a great community. I'm very excited about going to the office and paying pumpkins and I love the different kind of specials that they have throughout the year.

So far the community has met my expectations, I feel very safe here. The application process was easy, the neighbors are friendly, work orders are done in timely manner, neighbors are friendly. Staff is awesome!

Moving In was a very pleasant and easy experience. Tyeise was amazing. Neighborhood is nice and the apartments are very spacious. Parking is a bit harsh but I haven’t had any problems
