Property Manager at Brickgate, Responded To This Review
This is great to hear. We're so glad to have had you as part of our community for the last few years. Nothing makes our day better than happy residents! Thank you for sharing your feedback!
I am currently a resident at this property. Since moving in, and living here for a few months, I can honestly say that I feel duped. This property is the most poorly run apartment complex I have ever seen before. Since the new management has taken over, which I believe happened 6 months (not completely sure but it happened before I moved in 5 months ago), ago they currently do not have a resident portal where you can pay your rent online. That means you have to get a cashier’s check from you bank every month, with a larger fee than what a payment portal would incur, and drop it off at the leasing office each month. There trash and broken glass littered all throughout the property. Nobody picks it up and you basically have to hope the wind will eventually blow it away. In addition to the trash, there are piles of dog poop all over the property as well because even though this is a pet friendly apartment, there are ZERO doggie bag receptacles to dispose of dog poop in and there is nobody that picks it up. When I first moved in, the washer/dryer in the apartment were not hooked up at all and so when i went to run a load of laundry, I flooded my apartment. Then I had to find a neighbor that had an emergency maintenance number, to help me clean it up, because one was not given to me when I moved in. I also discovered after a couple weeks that my bathroom sink was also leaking and needed to be replaced. Because there is no resident portal for submitting maintenance requests, I had to visit the leasing office FIVE TIMES and wait NINETEEN DAYS before someone replaced my sink, even though the issue was classified as a “maintenance emergency.” The parking also sucks. Assumming I counted correctly, there is exaclty one marked (covered or uncovered) parking space per apartment. Many apartments are 2 or 3 BR apartments so that means that lots of people don’t have anywhere to park. You also can’t have visitors because then they definitely won’t have anywhere to park, or they have to park in Timbuktu and hope they don’t get towed by an extremely tow-happy towing company. There are many, many, many other problems but the basic gist is that you should not live here. The rent is “income restricted” but, depending on how many people live in an apartment and how much you make in a moth, rent can be a large portion of your monthly salary and leave you with very little afterwards. I personally have no idea what my rent is being used for because it isn’t to take care of t
