Nestled about nine miles southeast of Downtown Austin, the small community of Bluff Springs provides a convenient alternative to downtown living. Located along Onion Creek, Bluff Springs is home to the Onion Creek Metropolitan Park, a 555-acre regional park that offers plenty of scenic hiking trails, as well as the Onion Creek Greenbelt, which also has hiking trails, picnic areas, and a playground. Onion Creek meanders up to the sprawling McKinney Falls State Park, where visitors find waterfalls, hiking trails, campgrounds, and fishing areas in addition to the renowned Old Baldy, a cypress tree that’s more than 500 years old.
Southpark Meadows, the largest shopping plaza near Bluff Springs, is located along I-35. This plaza includes an array of national retailers and chain restaurants.

Property Ratings at Bridge at Monarch Bluffs
There were roaches when we moved in, we found out that other tenants had the same problem, and when we asked the office if they spay for roaches or insects when new tenants move in, the answer was “only by request.” You can never find parking because visitors take up most of it. It came under new management before we moved in, what we didn’t know is that our new apartment is RIGHT NEXT to the leasing office, and that office and area would be under construction for 6 months. So, almost every morning at 7:00 am I get to hear power saws, tractor equipment (as I write this they’re using a tractor to pull up old grass), and men yelling. I’ve contacted the office several times, and they’ve done nothing about it. They just saw they’re ahead of schedule and that it’ll be finished soon. If you want to take your dog for a walk, there’s a 90% chance you’ll step in dog poop. Kids are constantly running and screaming in front of people’s doors. It’s a complete mess.

Thank you for your valuable feedback. We are always willing to schedule pest control for our residents. If you'd like your home to be treated, please reach out to the leasing office. We will work with you to find a time for our vendor to treat your home. In response to your review, we have asked our landscapers to only utilize their equipment after 9:00AM. Please reach out to us if you experience further issues with the noise associated with the landscaping. Additionally, please know we are available in the leasing office seven days a week and are always willing to find a time to speak with you about your concerns. Please do not hesitate to stop by the office for a quick visit!
Highly recommended, I moved here last month and thanks to McKinley(community specialist) my move was quick and easy. He's amazing, made me feel right at home. Its a gated community, friendly neighbors and the apartment it self is super nice . I couldn't be any happier.
I love how close to South Park Meadows we are located! And they just updated all of the security equipment so I feel really safe here, and knowing that it's gated and you need a code to access the complex is really relieving for me since I have a young child. The office staff is very friendly, and they have been helpful with every problem we have had (not many). The maintenance guys are all really nice too, and they make conversation with you while they're there instead of just being quite and awkward. The dog park is pretty large so my dogs love to go play and interact with all of the other dogs!! I really recommend The Cottages because everything you need is within a 5 mile radius!!
These are my opinions after living here for about a year and a half Pros: -very nice updated space -Laundry in unit -Gym where the machines actually all work and they supply water and towels -Nice pool and grill area to hang out at -Office Staff - so far everyone I have encountered has been very friendly, sometimes you have to keep on them about a problem for anything to get done though -It generally feels very safe - they have had a couple of car break ins recently but I have personally never experienced a problem Cons: -Parking - it is generally full at night, like 9 or 10, but you should be able to get a parking space if you get in earlier, there are also garages available - Picking up after dogs - people don't do it. The apartments do provide bags and are always reminding people to do it in the newsletter, but it's still a problem -Maintenance - maintenance is not a big problem but does leave me concerns. Most of the time they are there very quickly and can get what you need fixed. I had one occasion where it took a very very long time to get a repair. In addition to that I have had them come in for the same repair about once a month. It always gets fixed quickly, but it always breaks again. Overall the cottages has been a nice space. It's very conveniently located next to Southpark Meadows which has everything you could need for clothing or groceries. It's also just down the street from an H.E.B. My time here has been pretty good. Sometimes I feel like I pay too much for what is offered, but honestly most apartments in the area are more expensive. I would say the the Cottages are a nice place to live and I haven't had many issues.
Now being less than 5 mins away from South Park Meadows, it a great hideway apartments. Now it's awesome to live there esp living in the back part of the complex. It had great spacious rooms and even double car garages for a great price in Austin. They host a number of different the month to help you "get to know your neighbor". Along side that you also have pet friendly dog parks, and a great side pool and grill areas everywhere!
I've been living here for 4 months, and I'm pretty content with where I live. My lease is up in a few months, but I'm planning on staying here. It's a beautiful complex and pretty quiet, but there is access to major highways and shopping centers. Downtown is only a drive away down I 35, but you're still far enough away to experience a calmer side of Austin. All in all I'm happy with the Cottages.
