Property Ratings at Bridge at Walnut Creek
For pros I’ll say it looks nice, good location, and the maintenance dept is speedy and helpful. Other wise parking is awful, storage is awkward and put in with out thought (some shelves are partially blocked by the doors they put over them), floors are awful, amenities are constantly breaking, they keep raising the rent despite these issues. I’m also pretty sure there is water damage and in the winter since there is no insulation in the exterior walls the inside of the apartment has moisture problems, the walls can literally be wet to the touch. My window also leaked as in gushed water multiple times when it rained. The trash is constantly overflowing since they do not provide enough dumpsters and they pass the penalty fees from the trash service onto the residents. The renovations look nice, but is clearly lipstick on a pig. The buildings are from the 60s-70s and other than cosmetic changes not much has been updated. Bad security as well, my catalytic converter was stolen in their garage (which has an awful steep slope) and they had no cameras or security in place and just told me I could call the police if I wanted. I’ll note, that since they have put in cameras. I no longer live there and am also being hounded for an almost $300 bill for routine carpet cleaning, which, on it’s own, is legally dubious. There was hardly any carpet in my apartment. I called them to sort it out and they never returned my call, all phone numbers I’ve found simply tell me the invoice is full and I cannot contact anyone about it. When I started living at the Bridge it had a different owner and the lease I signed had specific terms around cleaning fees. When I brought this up in that first call, the new management told me they didn’t have my lease or info from the previous owner. If that’s true that’s insane. Not worth the trouble

Lived there for a year. Really liked it at first, but after a while it just became a very frustrating place to live. Lets go over the pros: 1. Location is great. Close to downtown, and really close to the freeway. 2. Updated interiors. The apartment we had was nice inside. There was a good amount of living space for furniture (although I don't believe the size of the apartment is as large as they say it is). 3. Leasing & maintenance guys. Both were great to work with in our time there. Now for the Cons: 1. Construction. It's been going on forever and was supposed to be done in spring of 2019. While it's closer to done, it was a rough time trying to maneuver around all the construction equipment and workers. 2. Noise. You're right between the 680 & S Broadway, the car noise is insane and doesn't quiet down until around midnight and it starts right up again around 4am. Sleeping with the windows open meant you either get used to noise or get woken up constantly. 3. Parking. Parking is ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE. There are 10+ other complexes near you, and every single one only offers 1 parking spot even if you have a 2/3 bedroom. This means that people will find a spot and leave their cars permanently, leaving you to fight for only a handful of spots on the street throughout the week. It's horrible and the main reason we left. 4. Price. They ask way too much for what you get, and are raising prices even though the construction is still going on. 5. Neighbors. People clearly don't care about where they live. Trash is always overflowing from the trashcans, people let their dogs poop wherever and we were constantly annoyed with how thin the walls were. We heard our neighbors below us getting intimate all the time, it was ridiculous. 6. Storage. While the apartment was nice, storage is pretty bad. Maybe it was just us, but we were constantly struggling to find where we could fit all of our things. The cabinets look big, but they're awkward inside to store most thing and the space isn't utilized. 7. Hot water. I was amazed at how often the water temp changes during a single shower. It was soo frustrating, and it happened every single day we lived there.
The location of this complex couldn't be better. Great for commuters, right by the freeway, but also a great place to relax and enjoy life living walking distance from downtown. It's an older complex but it's been redone recently and the appliances work great. The maintenance staff is amazingly nice and helpful. I say hi to them every day. The only draw back is parking. You only get one spot, no matter how many bedrooms you have and street parking is possible but is a total pain. If you only have one car or work non traditional hours this isn't even a problem.
These are older apartments and show their age, but the rent is also on the lower end for the area. The interiors are very roomy and nicely remodeled recently with laminate wood flooring everywhere but the bedrooms and bathroom. Central AC and heat is a nice plus and the kitchen is very open (not a typical small closed space kitchen). The biggest issue we have is parking. For a 2 bedroom we only get one spot. Street parking is terrible. Unless you get home before 5:00 during the week, you better hope you can find parking. Because of this you can't have guests visit often as parking is always an issue on weekends. Overall it's a good value, but parking makes it so we will be looking elsewhere when the lease is up.
