Luxury living on the waterfront is a particularly alluring description, and that’s exactly what University Place offers. Though affluent housing on the Puget Sound is an obvious perk, this small city also offers a variety of apartments that range from affordable to upscale, so there’s something for everyone.
About six miles west of Tacoma, the charming town of University Place is situated between the state capital of Olympia and Washington’s largest city, Seattle. With scenic views of the Olympic Mountains, Mount Rainier, and the Puget Sound, residents of this city don’t want for much when it comes to beautiful views.
Chambers Bay Golf Course takes up a large portion of the city’s coast and is well-known for its perfectly landscaped green, picturesque views, and popular PGA events. On the same natural area lies Chambers Creek Regional Park that shares the course’s scenic views, boasting miles of walking trails, lush lawns, and a dog park.

Property Ratings at Bridgeview 125
Extremely unsafe, management is aloof, frequent car vandalism, noise from street and other tenants. Worst apartment living I’ve ever experienced
Rent is expensive and doesn’t include the price you have to pay for your car windows when they get smashed. Parking and safety are a HUGE issue here. Every time we walk to the garage the first thing I do is look to see if our car windows are broken. We don’t leave anything in our cars, but they have been broken into on several occasions, even in broad daylight since the apartment leaves the gate wide open during the day. The gate has been broken for weeks on multiple occasions and left open over night so anyone can come in. Not to mention there is an elevator that access the garage from outside that can be used at any time, by anyone. There was even a time when someone who didn’t live here was sleeping in his car in the garage and it felt unsafe to go to my car. As someone with a young child who is sometimes here alone while my husband travels, I do not feel safe in the garage here. The woman in the office has said multiple times that there isn’t anything they can do to help and there is no way to speak directly with management. For the amount we pay to live here, we should be able to talk to someone at the very least.
The apartments themselves are nice and in a good location. The main issue that we have with them is the overall lack of security. Bridgeview 125 will advertise parking inside a gated garage, however that could not be further from the truth. The garage is open all day and we have had our car windows broken into 3 different times. In addition, the front desk is not responsive and does not seem to care when the concerns are brought up. It’s one of those apartment complexes that are owned by corporations that clearly don’t care about the tenants. I would definitely avoid living here.
Bridgeview 125 Apartments has zero regard for their tenants safety or well being and they need to be avoided at all cost. They claim to offer luxurious living conditions which is the farthest thing from the truth. The front office is run by a lady named Kim who sits behind her desk and locked glass doors serving the sole purpose of deflecting all tenant issues as not the responsibility of management. While in the process of moving out of the apartment complex, I had a tv stand valued at $450 stolen while making a trip down to my vehicle. It was left outside of the elevator for less than five minutes and upon returning to my floor, it was discovered to be missing. Kim/management did absolutely nothing. No video footage from security cameras was reviewed or even sending a notice to other tenants inquiring as to the location of missing tv stand or even warning that the probable suspect is currently living inside of their complex! During the 8 month time frame I lived there, I also had my truck storage compartments tampered with, a neighbor had his truck physically broken into, and I watched a main sewer line spew waste into the parking garage for a good two weeks before anything was ever done. On top of all that, beware of the structural integrity of the parking garages as they are currently developing severe cracks and leaking large amounts of water through them. And lastly, I reexamined the lease after all this occurred and realized they have implemented a clause blatantly stating that they can not provide a safe and secure living condition which I unfortunately missed during the initial read over. A valuable lesson learned on my part that I hopefully can prevent others from experiencing as well.
This leasing office is horrendously unprofessional. They treat tenants as though they're a nuisance and if you have ANY questions for them, be prepared to be dismissed and/or treated like you are inconveniencing them. It's truly a nightmare whenever I have to interact with them in any way - whether it be about a small maintenance issue or something larger, like how their AC ports were measured incorrectly (see previous reviewer's description). If we ever call them, they answer the phone curtly and if you go to the leasing office, they stare at you blankly before giving you a rude, unhelpful response. There were multiple instances of fire alarms going off in the middle of the day a few weeks ago and absolutely NO communication with tenants about it. We were never notified if it was an actual emergency, if it was an accident, if they were testing alarms, etc. Pretty unsettling. Also, there's definitely a lot of nepotism happening at the leasing office. The main leasing agent proudly mentioned that she is friends with the owner of the building. What that means is there is absolutely no way to elevate any sort of complaint and have it be taken seriously. The units themselves are nice, but you will absolutely have a terrible experience with this leasing staff.
As the last reviewer alluded to, the customer service by both of the property's leasing agents are inconceivable. They are in sales and outward facing for the company, yet they are unwelcoming, curt and act as if they could care less if you lease or not, because unfortunately in this market they can do very little work and the line is still out the door. Do yourself a favor and don't get stuck dealing with these two..
We have rented here for approx 3.5 months. The location is good. Customer service has been consistently poor. So poor that it noticeably detracts from the appeal of the units/location. When you move in, they don’t let you reserve an elevator. Auto-pay didn’t work and the leasing office told me to call the company rather than do it for me. So I had to talk to a systems engineer who told me the leasing office had set up the settings wrong and they wouldn’t fix it. There was recently a heat wave here. The AC portal in our apartment was too small for the hose and the window is too large to set up a window adapter. This is for an AC unit that the leasing office recommended to us. The leasing office said the owners were aware of multiple similar complaints but they would not fix the issue. The only way to formally complain is to send an email to the leasing office, but it seems they are afraid to send the complaints to the owner.
