Property Ratings at THE LAKES AT TOWN CENTER
The worst place to stay. If you can pay your rent on the first, still stay away. I have not slept in months because of the noise from the interstate, the stomping up and down the stairs all night, or the drunk neighbor fussing by my door. You can smell the weed and cigarette smoke through your vents. And if you're older like me, the sound of your neighbor's footsteps at midnight is music to your ears. ( Not) The gate is not working, and strange people are walking around. I brought my washer and still haven’t gotten anything off my rent. (Smh) Don’t forget all the fees you incur if you are a day late. I should also remind you to bring your mop bucket. You will need it for the AC leak to catch the water. Bring a pen for all the maintenance requests you will put in. But you can do it online. (Yeah)There is nowhere to park, so be ready to WWE your neighbor for a parking spot. And we all love the dog poop that is all over the place, so watch your step. And don’t forget the neighbor who breaks the trash rules and provides us with a petting zoo. from the trash ?lingering by the door for days. I can’t make this up. The place is not worth the money, time, or energy. I used to love Hampton, but now this place and the area make me sick. I’m regretting my decision to bring my family back here. The best thing about being here is ——— ?thumbs down to the lake at the town center.

Very over priced for a bad neighborhood where my catilyic converter got stolen because the gate has never worked. There has been a leak in my closet that has popped up 3 times where all my clothing got soaked and after the 3rd time they finally fixed it. Also they have bugs

If you are broke and/or attempting to save money go ahead and cross this one off your list. The amount you have to pay to breathe in these apartments is crazy. I don’t expect this place to be perfect but for the amount of money it should be. How y’all gon show me a unit in perfect condition and then when it’s time for me to move half of everything is broke and not in good condition. Half my outlets don’t work and there’s dents in my refrigerator where someone banged their head on. AC unit leaks every night but hey, another drinkable water source. I told the office staff I’m trying to break my lease and they instantly caught an attitude, I fear an eviction notice will be on my door soon. I told them I didn’t have the money for the $3,000 “reletting fee” they told me about, to which they responded “take out a personal loan”. For the love of God don’t move here. My mental health is trash & morale is low, pray for me.

Jim, I am sorry to see your unpleasant review. I did try to find you in our property data base system, but I was not able to locate you as a current resident. We would love the opportunity to address your concerns, please contact the leasing office at 757-224-6485 or email us at thelakes@chanres.com.
Ima try to keep this unbiased as possible. Units are decent but not worth the hefty price tag. A lot of fees & extra bills tacked on along with the rent so expect to pay an additional 100 along with the rent & utilities. Any lease shorter than a year expect to pay an extra 250/month just because. They also make it VERY HARD to break leases and require 60 days notice, which they will also require a 3,000 “reletting fee”. This is probably the worst property out of the 3 in this area.

Hi, Simon! Thank you for your feedback. We do offer competitive pricing in our area. Our rents do not include utilities-similar to our neighboring communities. The utilities are a separate charge to the rent. In addition to our competitive pricing, we offer flexible lease terms from 3-15 month leases. The rent will reflect the lease term chosen. In regards to breaking the lease, we offer a couple of options to include a buyout option or a reletting option. Feel free to contact the leasing office to discuss further at 757-224-6485 or email thelakes@chanres.com. We appreciate your residency!
The grounds are not maintained outside of the clubhouse. The safety of the residents is not a priority for this management company. It’s not a gated subdivision - never worked. The place is not worth the money. Check out the BBB rating a “D” says it all.
Poor management!! This was supposed to be exciting! My sons first apartment.. first day of move in the apartment was a wreck. They have been without air-conditioning for three months, no calls back from the regional. Multiple leaks that just got fixed after a year. All I can tell you is stay away it is poorly ran and whenever you have a maintenance issue it does not get resolved in a timely fashion. No compensation for dealing with no air-conditioning for the whole summer. Please save your money and stay away from this poorly ran property.
This Apartment Complex has gotten so much better since it changed hands and became The Lakes at Town Center. The new girls in the office are so nice and accommodating. Maintenance has had some changes too, all for the better. I am so happy about this turnover and would recommend this Complex to any one.

THE LEASING OFFICE STAFF IS SHADY!!!!!! Ever since they switched management, living here is terrible, they Harass tenants you daily for rent week before it’s even due and maintenance is TERRIBLE!! If I could move out now I would!!

The ladies in the office are rude. They look at each other and roll their eyes while conducting business with you. Communication is horrible. They don’t smile or even try to appear that they want to be at work. I love this neighborhood but the company needs new staff.
I have lived here for two years and when I first came to visit the apartments I was showed an apartment close to the rental office it was so quiet. However, when I moved in I live my apartment was located on the side by interstate and you can hear that traffic all day long. The walls are super thin and I can hear people walking by my apartment and the people that live over my apartment. It is not worth the money they charge you and the office staff changes consistently,
I like living at Bridgewater on the Lake, have not quite made it to a year yet, but I still love it. The staff is friendly, understanding and very helpfu.. The atmosphere is nice. They have events during the month so everyone can mingle with each other at the complex.
I'm so impressed with the caring and compassionate the staff is at Bridgewater on the Lake. Carla went over and beyond to help me on this rainy day. I was waiting on a package to be delivered and the company sent me a picture of my package being left on the doormat in front of my door. (Amazon) I was very upset because I didn't want anyone to steal it and could not understand why the delivery person just left it in front of my door. I called the office and Carla answered the phone. I told her what happened and without any hesitation she said, "Don't worry I will go over there and get it and hold it at the office until you pick it up." She said if there is a problem I will call you back. However, there wasn't a problem she had the package but she called me back anyway to tell me that she had the package and she didn't want me to worry. Now that is truly excellent customer service and going over and beyond to help me. Thank you so much Carla! I'm glad you made my life a little easier at Bridgewater on the lake. Way to go!
My roommates and I lived here last year. Through this time, we’ve experienced both the positive and negative features of this residence and if it were us, we would have liked to be warned to make the decision to live here because we probably wouldn’t have done it. The most severe conflict we experienced happened after we moved out of Bridgewater. We provided our forwarding address for any further billing in July. We never received our final bill due to the lack of responsibility of the staff (losing the sticky note they wrote our addresses on). Our first notice was from a debt collector- NOT Bridgewater although they still had our phone numbers at the very least. We went to Bridgewater to confirm the amount due. The secretary requested that we provide her with a money order and the debt would be absolved. Unfortunately, Bridgewater never sent the money order, and our credit scored plummeted over one hundred points each. Through months of detective work and broken communication between the debt collector and Bridgewater staff, WE solved it by paying the amount due again, attempting to fix our credit and Bridgewater’s fatal mistake. They didn’t take responsibility and deflected blame. We canceled the money order, and instead of accepting responsibility they blamed the postal service for never sending our billing statement and losing our money order. The list of positive features are as follows: 1. Pool (clean, nice size, and safe) 2. Safe neighborhood 3. Great quality living space with a lot of natural light In addition to the debt collection issue, the other concerns are as follows: 1. Lack of communication and follow-through from staff (work orders, move out instructions) 2. Appliances (dish washer never worked, and dryer took three cycles to actually dry clothing) 3. Staff rude and not helpful 4. Dog poop everywhere 5. Noisy neighbors (throws loud parties on weekdays) and staff refused to solve issues 6. Gate never works (in the year we lived there, it didn’t work for nine months) 7. Parking lot was not salted or plowed after snow storms Please consider other options before resorting to this poor excuse of a residency. Best of luck searching for your new home!
I would not recommend this property to anyone. We had a water leaking issue with mold, took the property over 4 months to fix, while they were fixing the issue they broke items within the home. The office staff is not very friendly, rude, and over all incompetent.
I enjoyed my time living at Bridgewater on the Lake. I would recommend this community to anyone in the apartment search. The only reason I moved was because I brought a house. Highly recommend!
Recently renovated apartments, very quiet neighborhood, new fitness and entertainment center and wonderful neighbors. The best feature is the lake, very pleasant place to walk to and enjoy the sunrise, and very safe for morning runners.
We just had a snow storm and management hasn't even tried to clean up and shovel snow. It's a complete ice rink in the parking lot. No one has put out salt, cleared driveways, the stairs are completely iced over. It's very dangerous for older people and children. This is the worst apartment complex for the winter because they don't care about their residents.

I'm not really into writing reviews, but I must write one for this place. Simply put, there is no other apartment community that treats their residents as well as Bridgewater does! I friggin LOVE my apartment! It's spacious and very pet friendly. My neighbors and I sometimes run into each other with our dogs and have mini play-dates! When I go into the office, I'm greeted by the friendly office staff who helps me with all of my packages and they provide special events for the residents all the time (I think weekly)! The girls in the office are so nice, they know me by name. Over the course of the past year, I've seen some wonderful changes that management has made. They've installed pathways through grassy areas, re-striped the parking lots, painted the exteriors, and gave me a fancy new apartment # sign. Parking is never an issue now. They've added plenty of visitors parking spaces and the new amenities really can't be beaten! No one in this area has amenities like we do. Very professional, friendly, clean, fun, and full of great neighbors! If you're looking for a new home, this is where you want to be.
I love these apartments. The area is great and right in the middle of everything you need. Shopping centers and grocery stores are within walking distance. The community is very welcoming and active. They have activities for kids adults and even dogs. The front office and maintenance are always helpful if there is a problem they fix it right away. There are constant upgrades and check ups to keep everything working smoothly.
