Property Ratings at Brighton Gardens Apartment Homes
Every time I call in a service call, I have to check to see if it's fixed. Usually it's not and I get the run around, like parts are on order or we are short staffed. I bought the $3 part myself once from Home Depot that was "on order" and fixed the issue myself and never heard from them. Water heater and washer/dryer are not sufficient in some buildings. Outer walls are poorly insulated. They spend time and money putting flowers in outside for aesthetics, but it took over three years to take care of pigeons crapping all over cars in the carports. Lights outside don't work, gutters are leaking, Also, there is no "High Speed Internet Access" including (misleading) and for Air Conditioning, I was told they recommend we use box fans (not A/C) due to the ancient (two fuses, not breakers, per apartment) electricity. I don't know what they consider a Pet Play Area unless they count the area the kids play in.
Brighton Gardens and Elmwood Terrace are managed by Morgan Communities. The apartment manager and her maintenance superintendent are negligent. The maintenance superintendent will not answer emergency calls and hangs up on you. They tell you a service will be completed and it is not. They lie. The hallways smell, the walls are covered in feces from other tenants dogs and the carpets smell. Do not sign the Bed Bug Clause!!! The electric is from the 1950s and should be inspected by the fire department. This past summer our electric shorted out 7 times in 85 degree weather in less than 45 minutes. The fuse box is not updated, you cannot just reset the box. There are special fuses that look like 1950s fuses. There is no electric outlets in my bathroom. The carports are dimly lit and the pigeons continue to defecate all over our cars. There are no lights out by the dumpsters and its pitch-black. I reported my neighbor several times for lighting incense in the hallway window and their suspicious behavior. These people finally did a midnight run and left the place. Ever since, the bottom basement has had break ins that we have reported to the police. The apartment complex management has done nothing to respond, the tenants have had to take care of our own safety. The side security door is currently boarded up with screws sticking out of it. There are school-age children who live here. Morgan Communities ignores the complaints sent to them, the apartment management asks me to take pictures and send to them, I had to call and tell the apartment complex manager to go to the Brighton Police to place an arrest for the break-in. And there are black flying bugs and gnats everywhere. Do not rent here.
