As Wisconsin’s capital and second largest city, Madison is situated in the heart if America’s Dairyland. Aside from the city’s farming history, Madison is also known for its lakeside recreation and relaxation on Lake Mendota, Lake Monona, and Lake Waubesa. Interstates 90 and 94 make commuting as easy as possible in the area, even to major metropolises like Milwaukee, located roughly 80 miles east of town on Lake Michigan.
Home to the University of Wisconsin-Madison, Madison draws in many residents for its college sports and top-notch educational opportunities. Between the Badgers basketball and hockey games at the Kohl Center to the Badgers football Games at Camp Randall Coliseum, there’s always a college game to cheer for. The university features all kinds of entertainment options, including the University of Wisconsin-Madison Arboretum, a major natural attraction in the city.

Property Ratings at Brighton Square
Expensive rent for very little amenities. Laundry in the basement needs improvement. Washer was broken and property manager told me to call the maintenance company myself. Neighbors are disruptive and leave messes in the entire hall. Parking is also not secure, lots of cars parked without permits. Will be moving out soon.
I’ve thoroughly enjoyed my time at Brighton Square Apartments! The community is welcoming, and the environment here is both peaceful and convenient. The apartments are well-maintained, with thoughtful layouts and great amenities that make living here fantastic. A special shoutout to Heidi and Dave for their hard work and dedication in keeping everything running smoothly. They truly go above and beyond to create a helpful and accommodating atmosphere. That said, I wish they had a bit more help to lighten their workload, as they’re often juggling a lot. Despite that, their efforts don’t go unnoticed, and they’ve made Brighton Square feel like home. If you’re looking for a great place to live, I highly recommend Brighton Square Apartments. It’s a wonderful community where you’ll feel comfortable and cared for!
Nice, safe place to live located in a good neighborhood. Fast to solve issues in the apartment and super nice landlord. Most dogs allowed, as long as mixed with a non “aggressive” breed
Too much dog poop on the grass, which takes away from folks with kids being able to utilize it to play. Also the old appliances are a head ache, from the stove to the fridge I’d hope to get a new one sooner or later. Otherwise pretty decent overall.
So far living at the Brighton Square, Apartments I have very much enjoyed my time my apartment and I look forward to the remainder of my time here!
I've lived here since 2021 and it's a great place to live and close to almost everything. The office staff is polite and gets back to you if an email regarding anything.
Quiet and fairly affordable place to live in Madison. The area is starting to build up and get a little nicer. The grounds could use some work, but overall not a bad place to live.
I was lucky to get a unit with neighbors that are friendly and look out for each other. I cannot say the same about my upstairs neighbors who are constantly making noise. There have been a couple instances where the police was called for extremely dangerous and disruptive behavior. The apartment amenities will occasionally need repair, but the repairman is quick to come the next day. Garbage outside is always a mess and neighbors do not have regard to keep it neat. I have even seen public garbage trucks dump their excess liquids onto the parking lot. You get what you pay for, but I will definitely be moving.
Very nice community the apartment is spacious and has a nice den the view is nice the location is safe and is near by schools and stores…..
So far it's a decent place. No issues so far with the apartment. Really wish there were ceiling lights in the living room. Also had to buy my own microwave which I haven't had to do in years. Otherwise no major qualms.
So far so good. Nice quiet and peaceful. I can't wait to try out the BBQ picnic area. Meet some of my new neighbors and settle in before ole man winter hits.
Heidi the apartment manager is great— very kind and warm! She was very clear, helpful and responsive with the whole move in process. The community is pretty too
Just moved in and so far so good, thankful for the main office's patience throughout the rental process. Apartment is spacious and very clean when we moved in. I love still being a short drive to downtown.
Lived here a year so far and i’ve loved it. The space is great, neighbors are amazing and the grounds are always kept very nice. Overall a lovely place to live
The staff are very kind and friendly and are there when you need them or the very next day. I've never had an issue that wasn't resolved within a day or two.
Nice, quiet place to live in Madison that is close to everything. For Madison, the rent used to be fairly low and reasonable, but has gotten outrageous since the pandemic. To be fair, it has everywhere, but my last two lease renewals saw increases of 15% each time and I am a long term resident!!
Building and apartments need updates, but overall a nice place to live. Friendly neighbors, for the most part quiet, and is a very family oriented community.
Is a good neighborhood but just the problem is the neighbors don't clean the dog poop and the kids can't play outside about this problem ,but is quiet no have other problems
Great place to live. Pet friendly and large living spaces compared to other apartments in the area for the same price. Some appliances are older. No covered parking or in unit laundry.
Everyone seems respectful and there's a wide variety of people living in the neighborhood. I haven't had a problem nor have I heard of anything bad happening in the area
The apartments are big, but I have few gripes. They increased rent by almost $200 after living there a year, the window screens are torn enough that I don't want to open them, and the staff struggles with replying to messages if you don't send them at certain times of day.
Just moved here & I already love it. So peaceful! The neighborhood is very friendly & I can get out & enjoy the sun while walking my baby, site seeing.
Superstar treatment and the staff gets back to you expeditiously. If they didn't have an answer to a question, they will help you out with whatever you need.
I have lived here since 2018 and it’s been the best place to live. We are smack dab in the middle of everything and nowhere feels to far away to travel. Heidi and Save do a fantastic job of keeping the place pulled together and solid!
I’ve lived here for ~6 years now. It’s one of the few affordable places to live in Madison they isn't a dump! Staff is very nice and apartments are comfortable and nicely sized. The surrounding neighborhood is quiet and people are nice!
Love it here, everything works, great size apartments, nice & quiet, the building smells nice, laundry in the building, dog park, good views!
Great neighborhood and neighbors who help one another out. Love the atmosphere and the great lighting. Great staff and very well involved in the community.
The staff have been fantastic since I moved to Madison Wisconsin. They had exactly what I was looking for in an area pretty close to everywhere.
Nice place to live if you are looking for a quiet, low key, and relatively affordable place. It is close to everything in Madison which is very convenient.
I’ve been here since late 2018 and this was my first apartment that I rented out post college and I have to say since being here for five years it’s been nothing but bliss peace and love for this place. Heidi and Dave really put in the effort to make sure that every resident feels seen heard and satisfied, and it makes paying rent here worth it.
Only lived here for a little bit but really liking it so far. The community is quiet and peaceful, and any neighbors i’ve seen have been really nice!
This place has become a great place to live in. I've been treated with so much respect and it's been reciprocated. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a great place to live.
The neighbors are super friendly and mind their business. The noise isn’t too much for an apartment. Office lady is super sweet, I love that storages are available
I like my neighbors and the staff. I love living here. These apartments are perfect for families. I recommend to everyone, young, old, and in between.
Brighton square is a great place to live for the most part. There's not much in the immediate area, but it's a nice quite neighborhood. I have had good interactions with the leasing staff. Heidi is wonderful! My only big complaint is the significantly high rent increases from year to year, but I suppose that's the case in most of the area.
I have lived here for over 5 years now. It is a nice, quiet complex that is close to everything. The gas station across the street is kind of sketchy at time, but overall the neighborhood is a nice, quiet, friendly place to live.
After renting from family for several years, I wasn't sure how the experience of living around strangers would be. Not to mention paying a significant increase in rent plus utilities. Brighton Square apartments has eased the transition with affordable rent cost, an abundance of included utilities, and friendly neighbors.
It's fairly quiet and we've been unbothered by any kind of noise. People so far have been very nice and friendly. I love seeing all the dogs around too!
I have been here since the end of 2018 and Heidi and Dave take the time to get to know you and make sure you’re well taken care of. I’m someone that will always a report a problem especially if it affects those living around me and Heidi and Dave are on the way to save the day! If you’re thinking about moving here do it!
The staff has been great and the location is just a bus ride away from lots of places. The neighborhood is great because it's in a residential area.
The leasing office needs to learn how to communicate more efficiently. The maintenance man is really nice though and responds promptly. The kitchen is super outdated.
Overall it was a good experience. The neighborhood and complex is rather quiet. The unit is very spacious, but the appliances are outdated. There are few amenities, but a nice first place in madison!
I signed a 3rd lease . I love my neighbors and my neighborhood in which I live. I have not had any altercations with any neighbors. I love the apartment complex because it's clean, Neat . And everyone is very friendly
This is a great place to live for my son and myself…. Good spot for this neighborhood bc it’s not the best neighborhood Close to my place of work…..
I like this neighborhood because it’s so quietly and have to much grocery store nearby is why I liked but I think need little more space for grilling and kids play
Quiet place to live near everything. The apartments are spacious for what you pay for, but outdated. Heidi in the office and the maintenance worker are very friendly and nice. They recently jacked up the prices for rent, but that is also going on everywhere.
Heidi the manager is super sweet, patient and understanding. There isn’t a pool or gym but there is a dog walking area and grilling area. Noise isn’t too bad
Living in Brighton Square these past few years have been great and I will always recommend to anyone wanting to move to Madison because it’s right in the middle of everything.
So far so good I love the location the building and the neighbors it's been a long journey for me I'm very excited to be A part of the community
I love living here! I love the staff, I love my neighbors, and rent is reasonable. I would recommend this property too anyone looking to relocate to or in Madison.
