Property Ratings at Bristle Pointe Apartments
The pool on the second side has been closed all summer, likely due to weather delays. The fitness center is a neglected room with broken equipment and debris. The emergency maintenance line is dysfunctional; pressing 2 never allows a message, so you must leave a voicemail on the normal line, with no guarantee of a prompt response. My ceiling has been leaking since May 30, 2024, despite multiple attempts to resolve it. The office's typical response is, "I'll let the guys know," which has become frustratingly dismissive. The system shows no maintenance requests, even though I have an email confirming mine. Frequent water pressure issues make it impossible to shower or flush the toilet. I've resorted to using bottled water for my dog. Since moving in late February, there have been 17 water shut-offs, and the pressure and temperature are still unreliable. Despite this, I am charged for water monthly. Another unit has mold due to hot water that won't stop running, leading to significant losses for the tenant. My son once spent nearly an hour getting enough water to wash up. These ongoing issues have convinced me not to renew my lease. Management seems more focused on attracting tenants than maintaining a livable environment. I have contacted the corporate office but received no response. The $3/month pest control fee is unjustified as services must be requested and are only available on Tuesdays, despite a known roach problem. You also pay $25 for parking, but resident parking is limited, and the light in my spot has not worked since I moved in.
place from hell, roaches, rodents, mold. there is no central AC, it is a chiller that gets changed from hot to cold or cold to hot twice a year regardless of the actual temp outside. i literally have not had a ceiling in my bathroom for six months, ceiling in kitchen is falling down as well. property is so run down with no plans to improve or repair in site. it is common for pet owners to use leashes or even pick up after dogs, stray cats are everywhere. cars get broken into as well as apartments often. stay away!!!
-Roaches, fleas and mice infestations -The bathtubs and the sinks are painted with what appears to be cheap latex paint (same paint used on the walls), so they are impossible to clean without peeling the paint off. -The new property management company, Wehner Multifamily, did not acquire any records or leases when they bought the property, which meant that for months it has been a nightmare to pay rent. And they have been fighting me on how much money I gave for a security deposit even though I have a signed copy of my lease and they do not. They didn't know whose paid parking spot was whose, who has pets and owes pet rent, asked us to pay for utilities before they could give us an amount to pay, etc. -The AC, which is only on and off - no temperature settings - broke several times (once for over a week in July) without management telling us. When the system is on and broken, it pushes hot air into the apartment, which means we kept it off. Management fixed without telling us - so it stayed off for longer than needed. -No enforcement of community rules, like picking up dog poop or trash. -The washer and dryers are dirty and leak. Also, the payment functions on the machines breaks often. -Was promised a unit with a dishwasher (included in our signed lease), did not receive a unit with a dishwasher. -Our ceiling leaked - when emergency maintenance arrived to fix it more than two hours after we called, they did nothing to help us. The next day, at my insistence, they removed the wet dry wall from the ceiling, but have taken over three weeks to repair the removed drywall ("Waiting on parts") and when they did send someone to fix it, did not schedule or inform us that they were coming. Additionally, whatever leaked (from our neighbors kitchen sink) was yellow and everything it touched, our counters, kitchen sink, cabinets and floor will not clean. No offer from management to credit rent or cover personal expenses caused by leak. -The pools are dirty -The vacant apartment next to us was broken into on a Friday, but management did nothing until Monday. -The pictures on their website are out of date - complex does not look like that now.
The apartments are low quality and badly damaged. Most of the floors are rotting, and there are numerous areas of water damage, bad molding, cracked tiles/ceilings/walls, unsafe electrical, and poorly managed grounds. The staff is split from a select few who are trying to make things livable for those who are here, and the rest who do nothing and let issues continue to pile up. The apartments were recently sold to the Wehner Multi-family organization and they have only made everything about this place worse. Management is frequently turned over with people quitting and leaving the entire apartment complex a mess. Since Wehner has taken control of the property, rent has been increased despite what was written on former lease agreements. STAY AWAY FROM THIS APARTMENT! IT IS A VERY BAD PLACE TO LIVE.
Property managers are unhelpful and unresponsive. The rooms are infested with roaches. The apartments don't have everything that they list on the website.
Between the backed up tubs, the giant hole in my ceiling in the closet from a water and mold leak, plywood left in my living room, live and dead cockroaches and every room of the apartment, floors were not cleaned or swept, hair clog in the hall tub, standing water in the master bathroom. Half the gas stove not working properly.... This is a hazard, I'm allergic to mold, not allergies, but a full allergy to mold in the maintenance man had the nerve to tell me that it was mildew. Maybe I should upload pictures to the Better Business Bureau website and see what they think.
this is n apartment complex that I highly recommend if your looking to move. it is an very spacious and quiet apartments, great staff!!! the apartments are very neat and well maibtanced
This is a great place to live. I love the scenery and the fact there is a mall next door. Great idea on convenience.
Urbana Apartments is a great value. The apartments a huge for the price you pay. They have a beautiful fitness center, 2 pools, and 5 places to do laundry. No place is with out a work order here and there. Paul, Rocio, and that new lady Cassidy all smiling at me when I come in and asking me how my grandkids and pets are doing just make me feel like the bees knees. Almost forgot that i had a work order to put in. They addressed it with an hour and a half and I am on with my life. That is as simple as apartment living gets.
I was a potential tenet with move in date scheduled for August 5th. However, upon seeing the unit 56S my husband and I were assigned, we were disappointed. The unit was infested with roaches, the floor was unstable, the walls were painted over old paint, tub wasn't resurfaced, and the neighbors were drinking outside with music roaring and other cussing at each other. We chose not to move in and asked for the $299.00 that we paid back that included the month of August rent and deposit. The apartment rep, wasn't very pleased. She was very unprofessional yelling at me in front of other potential tenets. I felt belittled. I tried to explain that the unit was nothing like the model and the environment didn't seem safe for a mother and children to be home alone at night. The other rep, tried to make things right by offering another unit and The rude one said no we couldn't switch. I told them I wouldn't want to stay regardless due to poor customer service. She was very rude, very unprofessional. I'm just hoping to get my money back because we hadn't signed a lease agreement and we didn't move in. We tried contacting Nexus corporation that own Urbana and haven't received an email or call back. Image how may people they have double crossed to make money. This needs to stop. I advice you not to give them a blank money order for deposit, no matter if the rep says "We wouldn't fill out the TO until you are approved or like the apartment." Lies.
Please do not rent there. It is NOT modern.. Roaches, Roaches, Roaches city at Urbana RUDE MANAGER... They don't have: Playground Enough Maintenence Enough Parking (or pay $25.00 a month) NO CENTRAL AIR.. NO SECURITY... ALL LAUNDRY FACILITIES ARE A JOKE.. Public Trash is all way full and overflowing.. Apts has no garbage disposal, dishwashers, small kitchen areas, no electric outlets in bathroom
these are probably the worst apartments in town. horrible staff, no one cares. we had mold on the ceilings our ac was leaking for months. they haven't given our security deposit back in three months. they suck please dont!
It may seem nice ....don't let it fool you ! This place is terrible . Management pays no attention To it's tenants. I have had issues with with them from the very beginning. Originally moved into a one bed room, had a constant leak of the air filter which was placed ..oh so conveniently above the fridge and always asked for it to be looked at even called the maintenance man and was never fixed. Then I had asked to move to a new unit, and I thought finally I won't have any issues. Clearly I was mistaken. The renovations are done terribly and flooring is peeling up . And i have no lived here for a year and already am looking at ending my lease I would highly suggest no one go look at these or consider moving in
The renovations are horrible with the tile coming up and drawers that are stuck mold under the tiles in the bathroom cabinets falling off all the time management has an attitude maintenance takes forever ac never works right not to mention INFESTED with roaches... I am looking for a new apartment already and I've only been here about 5 months!!
I live in a one bedroom apartment with a large dog. It's nice and cool in here when it's hot outside However the living room and kitchen is dark and gloomy looking. It's pretty noisy around here especially my upstairs neighbors . It's a convenient location across from the mall . Won't be here long term
