Located directly across the Arthur Kill from Staten Island, Carteret was once part of the Woodbridge Township. It became the borough of Roosevelt in 1906 and was renamed Carteret in 1922. This popular community is bordered by the Rahway River to the north, Arthur Kill to the east, and the Ernest L. Oros Wildlife Preserve to the west. Due to its central location, the borough bills itself as the "Center of it All."
Residents enjoy a fantastic location and beautiful parks. Carteret Waterfront Park has a fishing pier and access to two hiking trails: Danielle's Garden Trail and the Waterfront Fitness Trail. Shopping in Carteret is plentiful -- the brick-paved sidewalks and outdoor cafes along Washington Avenue provide historic charm and locally-owned businesses, while the shops and restaurants along Roosevelt Avenue have a more modern feel. With just 22 miles to Manhattan, 10 miles to Newark, and 70 miles to Philadelphia, residents can easily commute to nearby cities.

Property Ratings at Bristol Station Apartments
Bristol Station apartments are very conveniently located right off of I 95 which makes it easy to go anywhere. Apartments are spacious with lots of storage and aesthetically pleasing renovations. Kathy in the leasing office was very helpful with our tour, applying, and on move in day. She is great. The only thing negative I could say is that you can tell the renovations were done by cheap labor. However, for a rental, it’s fine.

Thank you so much for this review! We are so glad that you've had an excellent experience and have enjoyed our complex at Bristol Station.
I use to be a resident at Bristol for several years. Two years ago right before I was going to move out —my building caught fire. Everything I owned was gone- the building had not been inspected for two years - the fire alarms came on two months before this fire in the middle of the night- false alarm we were told. On the day of the fire - it was due to poor care and safety for their residents. There were no water sprinkles at the top of the building and the fire spread over the entire building —over seventy families- homeless! Fire reports were inconclusive- they only investigated/questioned 3 people. management was trying to blame it on a resident smoking on the porch but this was a full explosion! After the fire, the insensitivity and cold behavior of the management was horrific. They promised the resident that they would be able to go through the damaged items and try to retrieve their memorable items —-that day never came!!! For the record this was not the first fire in this building. I find it strange that this property was under new manager that took over months before this fire. I say run as fast as you can from this place!!!! If you want to be safe and sound don’t move here!!!!!- This ordeal took a tolls on my life, my family, and my health.

Thanks for letting us know that you've loved living here! We're so glad to hear this and we appreciate you shouting out our team members for their wonderful service.
It's horrible. Moved out. Walls are thin. It doesn't even deserve a single star. You hear all the plumbing noises too at night, when others flush or wash dishes, etc. Can't sleep. Lots of yelling and screaming noises too in the complex. Construction of my building was horrible. You hear all the screaming of neighbors or crying of kids. Moved out. Only good thing was the pool. But way overpriced.
This is such an exceptional community! Between the residents, staff, and maintenance personnel, we are thoroughly impressed with how communicative, accommodating, and resourceful everyone here is! Any issues or concerns (and there have been very, very few) were promptly handled and solved. Our first year here at Bristol Station has absolutely flown by - we can't wait to renew the lease! Thank you guys for helping us turn this place into our home!
I have been here for about a year and I must say this is an excellent place to live....very clean, quiet, and close to the shopping areas..I am not leaving any time soon.....
Moving in on the March 21st 2018 snowstorm, everything about Bristol Station has been wonderful! The snow removal was impeccable even at 4 am before most folks needed to be out for work. The staff are terrific and extremely courteous and amicable. Now that we are into summer, the pool is awesome, extremely clean, with crystal clear water and quite convenient. Commutes are good as it is right off the Jersey Turnpike.
This place is horrible. It doesn't even deserve one star. The people who live here are very rude and disrespectful. We currently live here and are constantly being abused by neighbors who blast music every single day of the week. Our whole apartment shakes from how loud their music is. Construction of these buildings are HORRIBLE. You will hear everything your neighbor does in their apartment, when they walk, flush their toilet etc. The pool hours are very limited and the gym is very tiny with no weights. Not worth paying the yearly fee for those amenities. Depending on the location of your building if you get an apartment that faces the highway you will here all the noise from the highway. The rent is also overpriced, they will increase your monthly rent by $100 after one year.

Dear Resident, We always value the comments from our Residents as we are constantly striving to keep Bristol Station a great Apartment Community to call home. We are very sorry you have some concerns and would like to have the opportunity to discuss them in person. We ask that you contact our Office to set up a time that is convenient for you to come in and meet with our Property Manager. Additionally, we have a new Regional Property Manager who is more than willing to meet with you also if you would like. While it is true, for the safety of our Residents, we do not have free weights in the Exercise Facility that is open 24/7 - we do have a weight machine which works with the same principal in mind. Our outdoor pool is open seasonally from 12 noon until 8 pm / 7 days a week. We feel those hours reasonably accommodate all of our valued Residents while affording us the ability to provide Lifeguard coverage during all open hours. We want to thank you again for bringing your concerns to our attention and encourage you to contact us to discuss. Thank you for choosing Bristol station as your home. Respectfully, The Management and Maintenance Team Members at Bristol Station Apartments
Don't rent here. Neighbor is bad. If you like looking at oil fields, you're in the right spot. Manager and maintenance staff are bad and don't care about residents. Maintenance is rude and unhelpful, doesn't show up for appointments, goes in your apartment without telling you and moves takes things. You have to pay about a 250 fee every year for "up keep of the place gym and pool" like you don't pay enough for it in the rent already. Pool isn't even always open, Opens real late in season and closes early, than sometimes only on weekends. You can only go when there is lifeguard. Gym is small, no weights, some machines don't work, if you want a treadmill or elliptical that's what they have. over priced for area. It is gated but the gate always seems to be broken. Rent increases every year, rules always changing. I would not recommend this place.

Thank you so much for taking the time to post a review of our Community! While there is no denying that Carteret is an industrial town, that is what has drawn many of our valued Residents to our beautiful Community! One of the most popular features of our Community is our location! Located directly off of Exit 12 of the New Jersey Turnpike, living at Bristol Station puts you minutes away from most New Jersey Highways making commuting for work and leisure easy and convenient. Because of our location, we are often referred to as "The Oasis of Carteret" and "A Hidden Gem" - both terms we are proud to have associated with our Community! Our Management and Maintenance Teams are some of the best in the business having years of experience in serving valued Residents through-out the area! If you have had a specific issue with a member of our Team or our Community, we would be more than happy to discuss this with you so that we can resolve any problems. We work very hard to be certain all of our Residents are happy with their apartment homes. Our pool is open from Memorial Day until Labor Day, however, it is only open on weekends until the local Schools close for the summer holidays. Unfortunately, this matter is out of our control. We use a pool company who provides us with lifeguards who are typically High School students who cannot work during the day until school is out for the summer. It is a law in the State of New Jersey that we provide certified lifeguards for the safety of our Residents and taking care of all of our Residents is our top priority. Our Fitness Center's equipment is well used by our Residents. We do have a weight machine instead of free weights and this is also for the safety of all of our valued Residents. We have not had any reports of the gate being broken, please do not ever hesitate to contact the office should you find that it is not working properly or if you have any other problems that we can resolve for you. It is our goal to provide our Residents with the BEST rental housing available in the area. Thank you for choosing to make Bristol Station your home! Tina Frankenburger Corporate Marketing Director
I've been here going on 2 years now and it's been nothing short of pleasant. Everything from the common area and the hallways down to the parking lot and the gym are always in immaculate condition. The only thing that I wish was that the lounge area stayed open longer, other than that. Perfect.

This is a great complex! Clean, safe, the people are friendly and great access to all major highways. I have been living here for years and have not had any issues. Pool opens in the spring and stays open until the end of summer. Everyone loves to use the barbeques and hang out in the club house where you can play pool or sit around watching the TV. The management office and maintenance team are on site and extremely helpful.

Bristol Station is a beautiful gated luxury apartment complex in Carteret, NJ. It's right off exit 12 on the New Jersey Turnpike and not far from Manhattan. The property is maintained very well. I've been living here for the past two years and love it! There is an outdoor pool, club house and gym. Every Spring, they hire landscapers that maintain the grass, trees, and flowers. I've looked at other rental properties in the area and they just don't compare in terms of amenities and maintenance. Also the rent is very reasonable. I pay about $1300/month for a 1 bedroom 800 sq ft apartment.

We sincerely appreciate you! We are so happy that after five years you still love your apartment home and our Community! We look forward to many more years of you coming home to Bristol Station! The sprinklers go off on random hours so if you're on the ground level all of your stuff will get wet. The construction is garbage even step, flush, burp from the tenant upstairs will keep you awake.
I moved in to this apartment complex about 2 years ago. My mother and brother live here in another unit. The staff at Bristol Station are very friendly and courteous. Any issues get repaired very quickly. The amenities are great. There is a fitness center with a children's play area that is kept very clean. During the summer months you can enjoy time at the pool. The residents here are great also. No noise problems. I give this place 5 stars. They do everything they are supposed to do and go above and beyond. Thanks Bristol Station for a great 2 years.
I've lived in Bristol for 4 years now, soon to be 5, and I been enjoying the years. The staff is very attentive towards the tenants. The maintenance is just outstanding. Whenever there's an issue and to be honest, I only had (2# my toilet handle which they replaced immediately and my door was stuck #humidity) and that was fixed immediately. I have not been disappointed, and honestly I hate to move so, I think I'll be here for some time. Location is great, grounds are well kept, staff is great, why leave. I feel I made great choice moving to Bristol
