Property Ratings at Brittany Greens Apartments
plan on a long wait for these apartments. For a income based apartment you must make 3 times the rent so a person on social security can't apply.... I thought this was for those people with low incomes???? Sure they say they have apartments now but you have to be on the list I was told it could take over a year to get to the top? ...
My family and I have lived here for a few years now. We pay our rent each month on time, we rarely ask for any repairs although we probably should. However my family and I are considering ending our lease shortly. The manager is nice enough, although rarely available to the tenants once you sign the lease. There was a fire here about a year ago, due to an irresponsible tenant, who by the way is still living here. The fire put any repairs or any upgrades such as a fresh coat of paint on these buildings for example, as they have seem to have a very limited budget to do much more than cut the grass weekly. They have a smoking area here that is near Fishburn lane, very noticeable to the left as you enter the property. The smoking area is an eye sore, tenants leaving cigarette buds about and they congregate in this area at night. My family does not do well with cigarette smoke as we wife has asthma, so she can not take the trash out some days, as it is near the trash area. Also they allow pets here, in saying this, it means barking puppies and dogs quite often at night when we are trying to sleep. Also living in the middle apartment, you can hear constant footsteps from above and other noises as well. We have become somewhat immune to a certain amount of noise living in a low income housing unit. There are many small children running up and down the stairs and slamming their doors constantly. We are used to them being loud during the day while in the central playground, as it is what it is. The only time I have seen the lady manager smile, was when she first walked us through our apartment and talked us into signing a lease. We are all aware that the management will be visiting today, above the land lord here, thus it has never been cleaned up better on the outside today! If you are of limited means, it is better than some other options in town and a good enough choice for now. Although be aware our rent has been raised every single time we sign a new lease and without any reason or explanation. I also do not believe that they do the proper background checks and screenings on new tenants, as I have seen the police here on quite a few occasions. We have remained here hoping to see some great changes and upgrades to the property. I was hoping the current land lady would do more for the tenants than just renovating her own apartment here as well as her parade of homes upgrade to her office here!
We really enjoyed living at the Brittany Greens Apartments. Here are a few reasons why: Location: They are 2 minutes from Walmart and most restaurants, 2 minutes from the hospital, 3 minutes from I-15, and 30 seconds from the highway. Neighbors: They seem to do a really good job of screening out the unsavory populations as we never had issues with our neighbors and never felt unsafe. Walking around the property at night was relaxing, not scary (like other apartment complexes we'd lived at previously) and there seemed to be a decent mix of ages among residents. Pets: Lots of dogs and a few cats. No issues with dogs barking at night or anything. The pet deposit was fair. Interior: Our apartment was gorgeous -so much better than the basement apartment we lived in during grad school. New paint, pristine carpet, and laminate floors that looked like wood. We loved having people over. When we had to move for work, it did make it hard to find a place of comparable quality for the price. Staff: Maintenance was prompt. We found the office staff to be very friendly and as we paid on time and treated them cordially, they were every bit as much cordial and approachable. Most of all (and the reason for me taking the time for this review) is that they gave us back way more of our deposit than I expected them to. I anticipated them to (like so many apartment complexes) make some claim of damages and professional cleaning and then low-ball how much they refunded us. However, they were perfectly honest. We worked VERY hard to keep our apartment in order, to treat it with respect and care, and to clean it to a professional standard when we left. And they definitely returned the favor in kind. Gosh I love an honest business in today's world. Others might disagree -but there seems to be an expectation in online reviews that you can miss a deadline, mistreat your apartment, and/or be rude to apartment staff and still be treated like royalty. That is very unrealistic and juvenile. No, we treated the management with transparency and respect and they did the same even more so to us. It is a symbiotic relationship and a business exchange of goods for services. So...keep that in mind if your are tempted to move here. You can't be a slob, shameless jerk, and irresponsible and have a good experience with staff. They are prudent with eviction notices. But, if you act like an honest, attentive, and professional adult, you will love your stay here.
