Property Ratings at Broadcast Center
Management is rude. Noisy apartments. Pool gets sun for only a few hours due to the placement. Packages go missing. Elevator always broken. Neighbors and security are always in your business. Small Pomeranian lives there pees in elevator and is always noisy. Most people have to buy two parking spots because they don’t have enough single spaces, not to mention the turn out of the garage is not safe, many people wreck. Just not worth it for the money honestly. There are way better apartments with friendlier staff. Moved out and was charged for BS.

Hello! Thank you for sharing your experiences at Broadcast Center. We appreciate the feedback you have provided. We apologize if at any time you felt our customer service did not meet your expectations. Any concerns expressed or that may have been previously missed, we would certainly take the time to address. Here at Broadcast Center we will make all efforts to resolve any situation where noise level is louder than acceptable apartment living standards. It is certainly understandable that above average noise can be disruptive, and our team always works with all neighbors involved to address these matters. Resolutions will be looked at and offered as necessary based on review of any reports of loud noise. The last thing we ever want for our residents is to inconvenience them with a broken elevator. We take steps with our elevator repair vendor to get any outages repaired as soon as possible. Upon inspection of an apartment after a resident moves out charges are assessed and determined by the result of this inspection and appear in each resident’s final account statement. If damages need to be addressed these charges will be deducted from their security deposit. We would like to address your experiences her more directly but we need a name in order to locate you in our records. Please feel free to reach out to me at ICanHelp@aircommunities.com so we can discuss further. -Susan
Lived here for two years. Yes it is a great location, the pool is nice, and the apartments can be nice, but none of it is worth the drama and hassle. It is like living in a college dorm. There is always someone yelling late at night. Unless you are on the top floor, be prepared to always be woken up by the people above you. Whether it is fire alarms randomly going off or hoax active shooting situations there is little sympathy, communication or support from management. When we finally moved out we were charged $500 for cleaning that didnt happen, and to repaint a couple of scratches. It's just a pain living here. Would definitely advise against it.

Hello, While we understand that in your experience the community feels like student housing, we can confirm that we rent to all applicants who would meet our resident selection criteria. This creates a diverse atmosphere of students, professionals, and families at our community. As such, if we find examples of residents who are not following the Good Neighbor Commitment we will take action where needed to cure these situations. Upon inspection of an apartment after a resident moves out charges are assessed and determined by the result of this inspection and appear in each resident’s final account statement. If damages need to be addressed these charges will be deducted from their security deposit. We would like to address your concerns with you directly. Please reach out to ICanHelp@AIr Commuities.comwith your contact information. We look forward to hearing from you! -Susan
I've lived here for about a year. Noisy - externally you'll hear firetrucks sirens, police cars, and helicopters frequently. Good luck trying to sleep or work from home! Noisy - in your apartment, you'll hear your upstairs neighbor's voice and stomping all times of day & night. The walls are thin so you'll hear music or their TV on while you're sitting in the living room or dining room too. You can ask security to have them quiet down, but it just keeps happening since there's no penalty. Happy to find another place for the money.

I have never experienced such a mixture of poor service and mismanagement in my 10 years I lived in apartments throughout my life. This is long and detailed because people should be aware of the lack of care going into this building and what type of environment it is. After selling our home, my wife and I decided to rent and I moved into Broadcast Center because they had upgraded their units, said it was smoke free and claimed no major issues. During the Coronavirus pandemic, finding a safe place to live is paramount. I had no idea what we were in for and I would have never guessed it would be this bad. I am shocked by the lack of care for new tenants and treatment we've gotten. Don't let the newish / remodeled units fool you. There is poor workmanship and lack of cleanliness in newly renovated apartments they are offering. Our place had broken window locks, closet sliders that are constantly coming out of place. The master closet is so narrow that hung clothes don't fit properly. I had to ask three times to get our door lock fixed and it was unsafe to leave the apartment because the door was getting jammed to lock it. Upon moving in we found 3 spiders and 2 silver fish, within 2-3 days. Then there is the upstairs neighbor that we are being told they have "no leverage to talk to them" about our noise complaints and constant weed smoke. My wife and I have been woken up multiple times after midnight with loud thuds, music, loud voices, non stop squeeking from something, and more...along with constant smell of weed seeping into our unit, even though it's a smoke free building. One time we woke up at close to 1am due to the noise and I ended up in a major panic attack because of how much it was shaking our unit. All of this to say, that nothing is really being done about the above and it happens constantly after the complaints. Sometimes, I even don't hear back from the community manager OR hear back when it's too late. Please consider this before moving in here and consider what you might have to deal with. We have emailed building management three days in a row about some of these issues and still nothing changes. Given the Coronavirus pandemic, this has become so stressful and the lack of sleep plus constant weed smoke that has given us headaches is really stressful. I wish they would do something to resolve this, but, it seems like nothing will be done, so my last resort was to leave these reviews...here and elsewhere.
They lied about the pricing and it was $800 more than listed on the website. They'll try and trap you in for more than 12 months and charge you ridiculous amount for it. You can also hear everything your neighbours above you are doing. Dont waste your time.
This apartment building looks nice in the first glance. However, after living here for 3 months it has been the worst experience ever. I also talked to many tenants and they had the same idea. It has insects, bugs and cockroaches. It is loud and very noisy. The management is the worst possible and they are basically a mess. They also entered and did construction for weeks in my unit and when I complained they were very rude. They reply on all comments that if we email them they will take care of the issue. However, thats not true. I emailed them and they said the management will get back to me, but they never did. I emailed them again and they didn't reply. They just don't care about the tenants at all!!

Hello, I responded to your concerns and forwarded them to the team. The team had advised me on your situation and everything had been handled. If you still have concerns about living at Broadcast Center, you may absolutely reach me at ICanHelp@Aimco.com. Thank you. -George
Iv been living at the broadcast center for a year now and heavily regret resigning my current lease. The staff/ management have absolutely no concern for the well being of their tenants/customers. Recent construction work has seen my apartment door unlocked from 8.30am right through to 6pm every day without fail. Drilling work begins at 7.30am now and this will continue for the entire month of October and probably a portion of November. Other tenants have been relocated after much protesting. I have received no such offer, apart from the first night of when construction began when I was forced to sleep in a hotel 5 miles away and now with 2 days notice I must relocate to that same hotel for the night or have construction workers enter my flat at 7am on Friday morning without consent . . I came back from that first night away to find my apartment was unlocked with anybody able to gain access with only one security guard to cover an entire floor of apartments, the management however claiming no liability for the contents of my apartment should theft or damage occur. I would urge anybody looking for a place that offers duty of care, security or luxury of any kind to seek residency elsewhere.
Property Manager at Broadcast Center, Responded To This Review
Hello, we can absolutely ask that your unit be kept locked while the construction crew is working on your unit. If you have a reasonable request for relocation, we can come up with options for you as well. I want to make sure your apartment is left locked once they are done with their work as well. If you shoot me a note at ICanHelp@Aimco.com, I can help with this. Thanks! -George
The Broadcast Center is a very poorly maintained apartment building, with constantly malfunctioning elevators, appliances and outdated units. Many tenants complain of issues with roaches and other insect infestations. Although the location is pretty good, there are many other options that would provide a better living experience. Don’t gamble on living here and look elsewhere.
Property Manager at Broadcast Center, Responded To This Review
Thanks for the feedback. It is important to me that you feel completely at home while living at Broadcast Center. If you have any of the issues you've outlined in your review, I can help you submit a service request to take care of each item. Shoot me a note at ICanHelp@Aimco.com. Thanks! -George
Do not choose this place! There are a thousand hidden fees that they don’t tell you about. Pest control, trash, maintenance, and some weird online fee for paying rent online... before you know it you’re paying $100 more than your quoted rent. Plus, when construction needs to work on your apartment, they will just unlock your door with their master key and leave it open, they leave your AC on when they leave, and the water doesn’t work half the time. There are far better options in the area. Do not choose this place!
Property Manager at Broadcast Center, Responded To This Review
Hello, we do not have any hidden fees, as all fees are outlined in the lease. There is only a fee for paying rent online if you elect to use a credit card, but you can use a bank account with no fees whatsoever. I understand your frustration with renovations, and the team has spoken to the construction workers about leaving you unit as they found it.
Don't move here: Wow, where to begin. The false fire alarms that have gone off a dozen times in 11 months? Nuisance, yes, but even more than that, it's dangerous. So many residents here don't even bother leaving their apartments because of how many false alarms there have been. And why have they happened, where here's the running list of reasons I've gotten from management: Multiple times it was the vendor's fault for apparently "tripping" the fire alarm during some sheet rock installations or something. A couple of times it apparently could have been a prank, but don't worry, they ostensibly found out who it was and stopped that. And MOSTLY it has been due to the system just being riddled with malfunctions. The false alarms have gone off at 4AM, at 6AM, at 11PM; it's been pretty time-indiscriminate. Try getting back to sleep after waking up to a 4AM fire alarm and having to make your way down 6 flights of stairs (I'm on the top floor). It's downright negligent, and is past the point of dangerous. Next, the elevators. Well, they are frequently malfunctioning and being taken offline. It would seem that they would get them serviced properly, once, but they've gone down far more frequently than any other building I've ever been in. I got stuck in the elevator for 20 minutes once, with 5 other people, the air conditioning goes off which was fun, and one of the people in the elevator began to hyperventilate and nearly passed out, and we had to call 911. That only happened to me once, but the other night, fire engines showed up because it happened to someone else apparently. Ah, as I mentioned, I'm on the top floor. I always move into top floor apartments because I don't like people above me able to wake me up if we have different schedules. Well, more than half a dozen times in the last 11 months, different vendors and maintenance people have been on the roof at all hours of the night, outside of normal business hours and even outside of the LA County allowed construction hours. It's happened at 6AM, and 11:30PM before, which is such a wonderful thing to wake up to, people traipsing across the roof loudly without regard to people sleeping in the rooms below them. The other night it happened again at midnight, and I spoke with management ONCE AGAIN, and got the excuse "it was emergency maintenance" -- oddly the person had no tools with him. Just a flashlight hat thing. And last night, this happened again at 1:45AM.
