Property Ratings at Broadmoor Apartments
I recently renewed my lease with Broadmoor, and happily so. The entire process was seamless. The office was readily available to answer any questions I had, and assist me with some technical difficulties on my end. In addition , the entire staff , leasing and maintenance, is always very pleasant, addresses issues that might arise in a timely fashion.

Thanks for your positive feedback about the renewal process at Broadmoor Apartments! It's always our pleasure to ensure your satisfaction, and we're glad our team was there to answer your questions and assist you during some technical difficulties. Here's to another happy year together!
I tried to apply for an apartment they told me the apartment was no longer available I did not complete the application process which was extremely difficult in the time frame they wanted so they canceled my application. Then the leasing staff told me I needed to pay them another $50 and apply again which I did finally I was given to go ahead by the application process but then the leasing agent said no something was wrong even though I had an email saying I was approved, in the apartment they had previously said was not available had strangely become available. I just don't trust these people there's something very dishonest about them.

I was very impressed by the Broadmoor when I visited. Abby, who was very helpful and friendly, gave me a tour of the well-kept Broadway and the unit I'm interested in, which I found to be very satisfactory

I generally like living at Broadmoor but they are not very good at communicating when things are going on. There is construction on one of the buildings in the complex and there was no communication about it occurring or even that the rest of the complex would be affected.

I'm sorry to read that you've been disappointed with our communication regarding construction. We understand how important it is to keep residents informed about changes in the community, and we apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused. Thank you, Ashley - Community Manager - (804) 747-8677
So far our move in went pretty well. The staff were helpful and welcoming from our first tour to signing our lease and getting the keys. The apartment was clean and freshly painted. The location makes it easy to shop and get to work using public transportation. Check out Broadmoor for a welcoming experience.

Bugs, roaches specifically if you don't have the proper anti-insect chemicals and The Lord on hand to handle the problem, constant issues that the wonderful maintenance team has to come solve every other month, emails sent to all residents for any issue ANY RESIDENT has, they will not investigate and contact one area or even building, and just now they plan to tow vehicles not "up to their standards", meaning double parked cars, even though there is PLENTY of extra space, cars with a flat tire, recently expired tags, this is getting ridiculous. There aren't too many options for West Broad that are worth the money to be real, but if you find an even slightly better option, take the other option.

I'm sorry to hear that you've been struggling with pests and regret that elements of our community have given you cause for concern. We certainly aim to maintain a more pleasant and enjoyable stay than what you've described here. While we will discuss this feedback as a team, I would also appreciate the chance to step in and see what we can do to improve your experience with us. Please give me a call if that is a conversation you'd be willing to have. Ashley - Property Manager - (804) 747-8677
i love the interior landscaping with walkways. i see ducks wandering around the grounds.
I had a couple issues that the maintenance staff was able to fix very quickly. I place the work order and they were at my apt within 20 minutes. They fixed all issues and were very friendly.
Its a great place to call home and out stay was great. We lived for close to 5.5 years and everything was great. Great neighbours good schools and great shops all around.
During this pandemic Broadmoor made it very easy to lease an apartment! Being a healthcare worker my hours are very odd.. but Broadmoor worked with me and we got it done!
Very old apartment but good staff and quick maintenance response even during COVID time
You're paying for the location, that's it. Apartments will flood and they will put fans in your apartment for two days and then move you right back in. Ceiling caves in from upstairs flooding? it's okay, they have a fan for that too. Displace from your apartment for a month because the ceiling in your bedroom and bathroom came down? oh youre going to pay rent for that month even though you cannot live there, nothing will be compensated. The pool is lime green colored because it is rarely cleaned, and never covered so don't think you'll enjoy that. Almost all the equipment in the gym is busted, so you may as well kiss that perk goodbye. The "dog park" is always full of poop to the point where you can't take two steps without dodging dog poop. They replaced the entire office staff but they did not get it right, might need to hire again. And when you call corporate, good luck getting a phone call back. Do yourself a favor and listen to the majority of the 1 star reviews, this isn't it. They're really lucky I cannot post videos of all the water damage done while living here. This is from the THIRD flood. They told me if i switched apartments, they would have to renew another lease. Finally got through to corporate, they moved me to another apartment and guess what? in the last week of me finishing out my lease, that ceiling came down too from water damage.
Broadmoor apartment looks good to stay and it has Very good maintenance department to solve the issues.
I've been here just a couple of months and my experience has been great. A very nice quiet community.
Excellent community. On time any issue was resolved past 2 years. Management respond to email for any issue which we ask for it on time. Environment is maintained awesome. renovated apartment looks good. Am unlucky :) continuing the same apartment for past 6 yrs.
If any one sign a lease you will be start begging to solve the issues and no one will take action instead they will shout on you and if you send emails you wont get response , not a place to have pleasant stay.
The community looks good but the unit given to us is poor. So it is must to see the exact unit you are moving in before signing the lease. Don't go by virtual tours. The maintenance service takes long time.
This complex is one of the worst managed places I have ever seen. The AC unit In my apartment has broken 5x in 4 months and each time it has been the same story of “all the units are old so they just break from time to time”. It is the middle of summer and I went 4 days with no AC. They have no urgency when things like this happen and don’t value their residents time and money that we pay to they to make sure the standards of the apartment are at this point livable. Just save yourself the headache and don’t move here.
Broadmoor is a safe, relatively quiet apartment community that is convenient to everything (interstate, shopping, medical offices, etc). The management takes pride in the community and is always looking for ways to enhance the safety, cleanliness, and image of the complex.
Its one of the best communities to live as staff is great and maintenance staff is great. Plus all good shops are around this place example costco and kroger
Beautiful complex... but staff is dismissive and maintenance does the bare minimum. The residents walk in the middle of the parking lot and do not move for cars. They also have a big problem. I don’t see a lot but there have been roaches in my kitchen when I turn on the lights
Staff is friendly and attentive - really I dont have any complaints
You don't have to worry about parking fees that's nice. Plus your guest can park wherever they like as well.
Excellent community and taking care of people safety and during corona virus situation management did great job. They closed immediately all the amenities. Any service request is done excellent and entire broadmoor the lighting system and accessibility is excellent...I love to stay here and am completing by 6yrs same apartment
Do not rent here. Their management is out to get your money and will go out of their way to find things to charge you for. I have never experienced such poor communication from an administrative company in my life. They don’t answer emails or calls but will claim all of that is false or that you never tried to communicate. Don’t rent here. The places are not nice enough to deal with a leasing company this poor.
So they don't fix things. I have had a couple instances where the maintenance came and didn't fix the problem. Also, they raised the rent by $90 a month for my next lease which is ridiculous. What is especially bad is that they are deceptive. They said the rent was one amount with fees not included in the rent, but then say that the fees not included in the rent are mandatory. So they are included in the rent. The fees not included in the rent are an alarm system which had to be installed and I do not use (you can talk to the office about activating it and I never have) - that is $35/mo. The other is pest control for $5/mo. which they are supposed to do every Tuesday but I have only seen them come twice in about 10 months. Also I had a bad reaction the one time I went in the pool and my skin was very itchy. I have never had an issue with pools and I used to live in FL. When I checked the air filter for the AC a few months after I moved in, the area was absolutely disgusting. Full of stuff. There is no way they checked it before i moved in. They are also supposed to check that when they do "pest control." So there ya go. Luxury living at its finest.
Broadmoor has been my home for 3.5 year and I finally had to leave as my needs have changed. Overall this is a good community that is well landscaped, secure and is close to everything you need, and is staffed with a friendly and helpful management team. Based on my experience, these are the pros and cons. Pros- 1. Location - minutes from Kroger, 7-11, Sam’s, Costco, Asian Grocery, Indian Grocery and a ton of restaurants 2. Management Staff- They have been very friendly, available and always ready to help. (Thank you Yaya!!) 3. Service - Onsite service staff and app to raise and follow up on service requests makes maintenance a breeze 4. Security - ADT connected security systems in all homes and connected thermostats Cons- 1. Few of the apartments are older but they have been renovating most of the partners and the new ones are gorgeous 2. Parking - It can be difficult to find spots right in front of the building where there are more cars per apartment. If you arrive home after 9, you might have to park in the additional spots which could be a minute to walk. I definitely recommend Broadmoor!
Very bad appartment ,no maintenance at all, after leaving apartment they charged more than 1100$ ,ridiculous, worse in the area
I have recently moved out from this community. READ THIS COMPLETELY BEFORE TAKE ANY DECISION. You know how much they charged for move out? It is $924 !!?. Yes it is TRUE. BEWARE of this. I have deposited $600 and on top of that they asked me to pay $324. I will explain the charges. - One little stain in kitchen they charged for $250 to replace counter top surface. It means just replacing a kitchen sheet!!?? I know that fixes does not cost more the $50. They tried to charge me whatever they want to replace in kitchen. - Same like above small stain in carpet they charged $279 to replace the carpet. They are charged from me to replace the carpet. That stain can be simply cleaned with carpet cleaners. - Stain in bath room is required to replace VINYL REPLACEMENT(Laminate) costs $206. Is that $200 worth? I know the Vinyl is required to replace. You know the reason behind the stain. The water leaked from toilet bowl caused damage to Vinyl replacement. I reported many times(>5 times) about the leakage. They finally came after so many days to fix that leakage and caused VINYL replacement on move out. - This is very important for you. Damaged GYM Key(still it is working) they charged $75. $75??!! is that true? YES it is. Does anyone think that GYM key worth $10? So on top of above mentioned items other additional charges brings to $924. So please read all 1 star reviews carefully before take any decision.
I have been living in Broadmoor for almost 2 years and it has been a pleasure. The grounds and amenities are fantastic as well as the accessibility to anywhere in RVA. Office personnel has always been professional and helpful, maintenance staff is quick and proficient, they really do a stellar job. Broadmoor truly feels like home, I will always recommend!!!!
Lived here for over a year. Property always clean, maintenance quick, and office staff friendly. Everyone wants to help. Love my apartment. Layout is great.
Nice apartment with a very good management team, very considerate and always respond to service request in a timely manner.
Stay away from this apartment.. Service is very poor..I was having AC issues from past 4-6 months every time maintenance guy come and fix temporary and again after week or so AC won't work..this is just one example..there are lot more.. Tennis court one light is not working I believe from past 4 years (as per prior residents) still no fix for that..next year I am not gonna stay here ..I made mistake choosing Broadmoor..be aware..About management staff, manager is so rude except Latoya I don't find anyone friendly..
Excellent Community, perfect location, happening place, great amenities. Would continue here as long as we are in Henrico.
The West End is the most expensive due to the amenities available. If you're looking for less than $1050 in rent with quality maintenance and very close shopping Broadmoor is for you.
