West Des Moines is located in three Iowa counties. Residents of this area enjoy perusing the local shops at Valley Junction, which began in 1893. Today it serves as the city’s business district, flavored by undeniable community tradition. With more than 100 specialty shops, art galleries, and restaurants, there’s always something new to discover.
On the other side of West Des Moines, Jordan Creek Town Center occupies a large fashion space that includes a 3.5-acre lake and boardwalk. Many apartments are just minutes from the mall’s stores, movie theater, and lakeside restaurants. The city is located in America’s heartland and has cherished quilting since its existence. Quilt-making goes back to the 18th century in West Des Moines, and many people proudly display their creations at city craft expos.
In addition to quilting, residents of West Des Moines enjoy the local productions at Tallgrass Theatre Company on Vine Street.

Property Ratings at Broadmoor at Jordan Creek
Broadmoor is by far the best apartment complex I have lived in. Maintenace is always super quick and friendly. The events like the Christmas party really made getting to know other people a lot easier! Definitely recommend if you are looking for a well-managed and fun community in WDM!
An awesome place to live! Amenities are great, office staff are quick to resolve issues and super nice! Maintenance staff quickly respond. They have fun activities for the residents. Very close in proximity to about anything you would need!
Broadmoor is easily the best complex in Des Moines. Events nearly once a month, free tickets to cubs and Iowa Wild games, maintenance shows up same-day to repair.
I lived here for a little over a year, and absolutely hated having to move. Moved only because of husband’s job. I had the best neighbors, everyone is super friendly. Office staff are all extremely helpful. Specially Jordan, she literally will go out of her way to make sure everything is perfect. Maintenance guys are always quick with any repairs ya might need. Grounds are kept up at all times. Pet friendly and safe place to live. I truly miss living there, top notch all the way around!!!

I have lived here for a little over 2 years and hate to move, but work is taking me out-of-state! The office staff is friendly and maintenance is quick to complete work orders. Their events are always something to look forward to - food trucks, baseball games, etc! You can tell they truly care about their residents and the upkeep of their community. Thank you for a great experience!

Thank you so much for your review. We always enjoy seeing all of you at our events!
Was horrible to work with them. After applying for a 2 bed, was told we needed to pay off all debts outstanding, included disputed collections and then told we needed to pay 2 months in advance to move in. Garages are extra. Thousands of dollars just to move into an overpriced unit. Save yourself the time and money and headache and please apply elsewhere. There are so many other properties with the same amenities in this area, more square footage for less money. You are literally only paying to live next to a mall. They really don't want "regular" people living here from the looks of it. We applied elsewhere at a similar place just down the street, was approved for a 3 bed apt with garage included, and fireplace, in one hour-- with no caveats. That told us all we needed to know.
I "upgraded" into a newly "renovated" unit. The move was planned for two weeks and I had signed everything, including the document that said my rent for moving in halfway through the month was $550. THIS WAS THE PRICE DISCUSSED FOR TWO WEEKS BY MULTIPLE PEOPLE IN THE OFFICE AND SIGNED BY THE MANAGER. Yet, the day before move in, I received an email saying they had made a mistake and I owed an additional $400 that next day, which I hadn't planned for and wasnt able to come up with that day. It was too late for me to back out when I asked about it, and I had to fight to get them to work with me. one person told me I could add it to the next months rent being it was 'their mistake and not mine', and another calling me everyday asking where the money was or they'd have to charge and report me. I wound up having to pay it earlier than the original agreed upon work around my "renovated apartment" had issues. Crooked counter and cabinet doors (that I was told i had to adjust myself), a dryer that didnt work, leak in the ceiling. They repainted where the water was leaking, saying that it was a leak that was repaired but they forgot to paint. I had been told I was on a wait list for a garage, yet I watched 4 neighbors move in and get one right away. I got fed up and went to the leasing office for god knows what number try this was. i was told there was an appliance delay, but theyd try to order one again. 3 days after they ordered another washer/dryer unit for the "2nd time" (doubt they ordered the first time), i had a new one in my apartment. I wasnt actually on a wait list for a garage even though 3 different people told me previously I was (i did get a garage for the last 3 months I was there at no charge). The last thing i had to break lease 3 weeks early(ended March 31st, moved out March 4th). I went in to see my options. I was told my options were to pay the month of rent and give my keys back early, or do an option where I pay the month of rent and if someone rented the apartment, id get refunded the amount depending on day new resident moved in. I asked if there were any additional fees with that. I was told no, but id lose my security deposit. Went in 3 days later to sign the paper work. Was told that to do that option I'd have to pay fees to repaint the apartment and refurbish it, and whatever else there was and the amount was more than the $300 security deposit. I just paid the months rent as if i still lived there, gave then my keys and left.

We always strive for all of our residents to have a 5 star experience and I’m sorry to hear of yours. It clearly seems like we have missed the mark. Please give us a call at the office to further discuss, we would love the opportunity to discuss it all further.
Looks nice right? Paper thin walls. Old carpet. Rent is sky high for what you get. Super rude and incompetent office staff, (except Anna) trash on the grounds, poor winter upkeep, don’t respond to noise complaints or odors, trash etc in hallways. They say it’s a secure place to live - Nope. Gates are always broken or just not in service, people let others in all the time. Very high utilities. Just overall very, very poor experience. Can’t wait for my lease to be up in 6 months. Oh and don’t try and sublet or anything - a)they don’t work with you and b) it will cost you more than if you suck it up and endure the poor place.

Broadmoor at Jordan Creek is an awesome spot! The community is filled with great people, they throw fun parties threw out the year. Movie Theater is a fun bonus! Close to Everything! Smash Park is a favorite to just walk on over too! Would definitely recommend!
I have been here for a while and overall my experience has been wonderful. The office staff is always there and responsive, maintenance is quick to all the requests and the community events are always so fun. Keep up the great work!
We have lived at 3 other rental locations in the area. Broadmore at Jordan Creek is by far the best in every aspect of renting. From amenities to professional & knowledgeable staff, to location with excellent shopping & restaurants, location to the DSM Airport, beautiful pool areas, stadium seating theatre, weight & exercise rooms, club house. Just a short drive to downtown Des Moines & The Iowa Cubs baseball stadium, Altoona Outlet Mall, Casino & Iowa State Fair Grounds. As far as the apartment, wide hallways for moving in & out, super clean common areas, on-site garages & gated community.
I have lived here going on my 5th year and I can’t say enough great things about this apartment complex! The staff and maintenance team are always so helpful and pleasant to work with! I can’t wait to continue calling Broadmoor my home!!
I’ve lived here for 8 years and I can’t say enough about my experience, nothing else in the area compares! Maintenance and office staff are always helpful and friendly and their community events (even socially distanced ones) are always fun. They are great about updating with new features and amenities - really looking forward to the new fire pit.
You're paying for the location, the apartments are average. Personally I think the rent is too high for what you get. The neighbors upstairs like to blast music at midnight as well, other than that it's an okay place.
If you’re looking for an apartment I would steer clear of this one. Here’s why.. -No elevators -Super expensive -You will hear everything below, above, and to the side of you. I’m not kidding when I say I can hear my neighbors in the restroom and with every other thing they do. -1 out 5 of the treadmills at the gym function consistently. -It is made out of super cheap material. Everything will fall apart. -Constant odor through the vents -You are forced to pay $35 a month for cable even if you don’t want it/use it. -Goodluck getting a garage for your car. -Maintenance team will enter your apartment without you being present and even after you tell them not to. -You will be sitting in the dark for most of your afternoon since there is no lights in the living room. I could go on and on. Seriously stay clear of this place and save yourself the money and a headache.
This is by far the best apartment complex I have lived at in the five states I’ve called home. In addition to all the included amenities (movie theater, pools, gym, residential business office), the staff is world class. They are always friendly and helpful, especially Anna. Time after time they have gone above and beyond to make me feel valued. They regularly host resident appreciation outings and parties at the clubhouse. It feels like a community, and not like a complex. I highly recommend this over any others in the area.
There are several buildings with massive ant infestations, so bad they have colonized the walls and the tenants are brushed aside and not taken seriously. Occasional spraying will not get rid of it, several residents have been living like this for years. They do not maintain the infrastructure, unless it looks bad. Anything that can't be seen, doesn't get fixed. The hot tub jets have been broken for 5 years and haven't been fixed, they do not disclose this on apartment tours, well, because it works enough to say it works. The office staff acts like they care until you have actually moved in, then they act like they are doing you a HUGE favor by even talking to you. One office girl was shot gunning beers in the hot tub with her buddies last summer and there was so much spillage the hot tub smelled of beer for several weeks. Not to mention they regularly pull dead rodents out of the pool filters and don't advise the tenants of this or even close the pool down to check if it is a health hazard. Hello, little kids swim in there. They want to look like a good place to live but are too lazy and cheap to actually do anything other than talk and put on a show.

Broadmoor feels like home! The building and interior of the apartment units are great. The important thing is that the management is very responsible to their tenants. Maintenance is on top of your requests. The gym facilities are clean and the equipment is in great shape. Broadmoor at Jordan Creek is in a safe and fun area, with shopping, restaurants, and trails. Choose Broadmoor!
I'm a current resident who has lived here a little over two months, and have an odor issue that has not been resolved. Management is difficult to contact, and does not return calls. Have had to go into the office to physically find the person dealing with my issue to get any sort of attention. Not at all customer service oriented and unprofessional behavior by the manager! If you want something taken care of don't expect it to be a priority. Feels like once they have you in the door then they're friendly manner disappears. Got them at leasing manager and multiple lies to me and discussions we had about this issue. After this sort of treatment I wouldn't trust them to take care of you or your issues.
Everyone here is so amazing. The maintenance guys are the hardest working men I've seen. They are out at all hours of the day and night clearing the parking lots so we can get out early in the morning. I have worked around the Jordan creek area for a while and our lots are by far always clear before any other business in this area including the mall! They shovel by hand and use the machines to make sure even the garages are cleared off. Even after one of them had been working all day he was nice enough to let me in my building when I locked myself out with a smile and was nice to my dog. sheli has been here since I moved in and always knows who I am . Pretty impressive they can remember names and where your apartment is without you telling them. Mandy has always helped me when I have questions and is always friendly and ready to help. As many new apartment buildings go up in this area I stay here because of the people that work here !!
Seriously, if I could give this place zero stars, I absolutely would. I will be moving out as soon as I possibly can. Do not live here. The absurdly high rental price is absolutely not worth it. I have constant problems with all my drains in the bathroom and kitchen, I thought it was me so I got really careful about covering them up so nothing but water goes down them and that hasn't helped at all; my heating and cooling went out completely on three separate occasions in just the first year I lived here; the neighbor above me is constantly making all kinds of noise and is so loud that my ceiling shakes and I've complained to management on multiple occasions and the situation hasn't improved and it really doesn't seem like they care (just so you know, you have a legal right to 'peaceful enjoyment' under Iowa code, meaning this obnoxious behavior by a neighbor isn't something you should have to live with); the mail service is absolutely ridiculous, I've had two occasions where the mail service says something has been delivered yet I didn't get in in my mail, at my door, and the office doesn't have it, then I inquire again with the mail and about two weeks later the office finds my packages, and I'll never put anything in the mail drop off boxes here again because it takes weeks to get out; and I always see beer cans all over the place here which is just gross and something I expect of a college dorm not a supposedly high end apartment complex. Another review mentioned people being rude and parking behind your garage or spot and I want to corroborate that, I've had to get people out of the way of my garage quite a few times. I highly recommend finding another place to reside. For the ridiculous price in rent you pay this place is just absolutely not worth your money, there are cheaper places all over this area and I highly recommend you look at those instead. DON'T LIVE HERE.

We strive for all our residents to have five-star living experience with us. We are so sorry your experience has been less than enjoyable. Please contact the leasing office to address any concerns.
It's an ok place to live but you'll pay rent as if it was a palace. Be ready to lose your deposit when you leave as the manager will ding you for every tiny thing they can find and then will tack on some extra as insult. Would not recommend living here.

I love living here! They truly take care of you. If something breaks or you need help with your apartment they are right there to help. Freindly and fun staff here. Nice swimming pool too!
My boyfriend and I have been living at Broadmoor Jordan Creek Apartments for a little over a year now. We signed our second year lease with no rent increase, which was surprising! We have been very happy living here. Staff is very helpful and maintenance is always quick and reliable! Only complaints I have is that our balcony looks out to the pool and during the summer when the pool music is played too loud or when lots of people are outside it gets a bit noisy! Otherwise I can't complain. Great place to live!
Beautiful, spacious, and clean apartments with excellent customer service and a fantastic maintaince staff. Highly recommend Broadmoor in West Des Moines!!
I have lived at Broadmoor for 3 years now. The apartments have nice finishes and are very spacious. The staff is wonderful and is always very helpful if a problem arises. The complex also has wonderful amenities including a gym and a pool. The best part about living here is the pool and social aspect. The complex is full of young adults and the pool is a great way to meet new people in the Summer. Would highly recommend living here.
