Northwest San Antonio, often referred to as the Northwest Side, offers a casual, relaxed atmosphere with a hint of upscale amenities. Northwest San Antonio stretches along I-10 to Scenic Loop Road and contains the University of Texas at San Antonio, Six Flags Fiesta Texas, and Santikos Entertainment Palladium. This popular area also features several terrific parks and Palmer Course at La Cantera for golfers. Toward I-410, the University Hospital is located along Babcock Road.
If you want to be close to the university. Look for rentals in College Park, Hills and Dales, Woodthorn, or Maverick Creek. If you plan to commute into the city, it’s a short 20-minute drive into Downtown San Antonio.

Property Ratings at Broadstone Colonnade Apartments
Moving in: was scheduled to move in March 3rd of 2023. I called and let them know we would be delayed and the office said that was okay and that everything would be ready when we got there. Once my husband and I showed up after moving from Iowa they said the apartment wasn’t ready and that they would have to find us something different. After multiple hours we were moved to a new floor plan. Due to the delay we had to sit outside with a U-Haul holding all of our belongings and our cats had to continue to sit in the car for 3-4 hours. Very frustrating first interaction after they knew we weren’t even going to arrive until after our actual move in date. Then when we did finally move in and were doing an inspection and taking photos, we realized the apartment was very over priced, borders were missing, walls were chipped, the front lock wasn’t aligned, an outlet was removed from the kitchen wall, along with other issues. At this point we just didn’t want to be homeless and moved in taking photos of everything. Amenities: we moved in in March and were informed we would receive a clicker for the gym and front gate in March, July, October, and December. Finally got one in December shortly before we ended up moving out and never was able to use the gym. Also mail was horrible, the mail room would often not be secured inside and you would be able to completely open a whole wall of mail and anyone who was in the mail room could access your mail. As well as for any large packages, you got to pay a nonrefundable fee to obtain a locker! Employees: employees do not help with issues unless you call and email and text and follow up at least 2-3 times. They are almost never in the actual office and leave multiple times through to day for showings, staff seemed understaffed, unknowledgable, and just not helpful overall. Moving out: apartment does not take normal wear and tear into consideration, should’ve taken more and more photos as soon as we moved in as we did not receive our deposit and was expected to pay close to $100 due to a stove and oven that had staining as well as the bathtub peeling (due to cheap materials and paint used) peeled within the first week of moving in. We left the apartment cleaner than when we arrived and still owed so much. Management changed multiple times through our lease, the front gate was broken half the time, neighbors are loud and disrespectful during night hours.

These apartments on the first floor will flood with heavy rains. Creating water damage to the apartment complex. Renters insurance will also not cover damage caused by flooding. Outside of the apartment complex always smells like dog poop because none of the residents pick up after their animals. The gates are always broken. I’ve had my car license plate stolen. Management will give you a lame excuse for not giving you your security deposit back. The Maintenance does not know how to fix anything. They constantly need to call an expert in. If you don’t mind your apartment unit flooding every time it rains and never having anything properly fixed and not getting your security deposit back then this place is great for you.
The cleanliness and organization of the office and brilliant staff. The grounds are kept very neat, neighbors that I interacted with while on my tour, were friendly. The apartment was everything I dreamed of while on a budget. This property is Very peaceful
I've been here since 2008. I've gone through several management changes and this present group by far is the best.
It's nice for students but not for working professionals. Too noisy. Too many hooligans.
I’ve only been here a couple of months but so far I love it. The community is generally pretty quiet and everyone seems friendly. My only concern is parking space/garages or lack of.

was fine until my car got stolen off the premises, reached out to mgmnt and didn’t get a reply,might walk out your front door and step in dog poop
The price for the 1 bedroom is good, however the 2 bedroom is to high! The staff here leaves much to be desired in the customer service department, except for the manager and the maintenance lady.
The office staff and maintenance team are very helpful and it he location and pricing fit my budget and needs.
When I moved in, things were not prepared for me. Whoever was in charge of cleaning the apartment did not clean it at all. Smudges all over the walls, my dishwasher was disgusting and could never use it. The blinds out to the patio had one missing. The toilet had/still has mold in the tank as well as the kitchen sink. Nothing was prepared before I moved in.

Pest control or maint. should be taking care of the grounds such as the wasps nests in the breezeway. The cigarette smoke smells are strong. The noise from neighbors. The move out process. The work order for the AC banging noise in the bedroom was not fixed, more so told it was nothing to be concerned about, however, it interrupted our sleep. Other than that, it was an OK place for 2 and a half months before buying my home.
The maintenance crew was amazing! The office was hard to get a hold of and would give attitude when we had questions throughout the moving process.
Friendly staff & work orders get done quickly.
The cost is very favorable compared to other places. Great sq footage and it' not a huge community.
I would recommend this community by the exceptional leasing agent staff.
Perfect and have a great new home
It's extremely muddy around the property when it rains and hard to access the dog park at those times. I wish it were more grassy. I also have an issue with people not picking up after their pets. I have stepped in feces twice now from it being dark and not being able to see it. I have also seen feces on the sidewalk as well. Gnats are an issue as well inside of the apartments. Otherwise, it is a nicely gated community. Super quiet, I've never has an issue with noise anywhere at the complex. Convenient to a lot of places to eat and shop.
It has great amenities and the unit is clean and has new appliances.

I feel like I would however getting through to someone was difficult and required a lot of effort on my part as I was continuously contacting the leasing team about when my lease was ready to sign.
I think this is a great place that checks most boxes, even if not all. It's affordable and kept up. The staff is great, which is why I rated an 8. The personnel sold it for me, personally.
I would recommend these apartments the community is great, I've had no issues with anyone. They are clean and modern style of living with great amenities.
I would definitely recommend this community to my friends and colleagues. It is in an incredible area, and meets all of my expectations that are shared between my peers. It is priced well, and has the amenities that many often need or require.
If someone was looking for a small, affordable 1-bedroom then I would recommend this community to them.
I love how the property is always maintained and the pool is always clean. My work orders are completed really quickly and I do like the convenience of doing a lot of the business in the online portal.
The pool situation was frustrating. The lease renewal situation was frustrating. Also the poop system that was put in place and never reinforced was disappointing.
I would but I would caution about safety and pests
I have requested to clean the airways or hallways 3 times and in one almost year living here nothing has been done .
I have lived at Broadstone Colonnade for over a year. Anytime I have a maintenance request, the staff takes care of it right away. Very good service, keep it up!

Expediting the tenant process is very slow is one factor and the undesirable appearance of the entryway to the apartment is another factor although the apartment is spacious and well kept.

Great location, better than expected sound insulation from adjoining apartments, nice mix of tenants, and a nicely landscaped pool and grill area are all positives. Frequent turnover in office staff, inadequate trash & recycling removal, frequent malfunction of gates, and the length of time it took to gate the postal area once postal theft was identified are all negatives.
I do recommend it. I do enjoy the nice quite time at night when I get home knowing my neighbors are happy with us and we are happy with them too that makes a whole lot difference... great home ..great personnel
Parking was a major issue. Sometimes I worked late and wasn't able to even park in the complex. I had to park at the hotel across the street! It was extremely inconvenient.

I would recommend them this community because of their overall level of satisfaction I have received. Once my wood floors were installed I have no complaints about my new apartment, the amenities are average and the location is great.
