Property Ratings at Brooklake
I lived in a one bedroom at Brooklake for 5 years and never had any issues. The apartment was fairly large with standard appliances (yes some are dated). The grounds are well kept, they do allow dogs and yes there are a few people who do not pick up after the dog even though the community has provided several posts with bags. Both the office and maintenance are amazing, they handled all my requests immediately. I will actually miss their professionalism the most. They have four laundry rooms which are all busy on the weekends, but they are 24 hour a day access so try and do your laundry at different times. I believe the cost is similar to laundromats, bonus is no quarters are needed you can use your credit card or debit card. They have a small gym and sauna, which are a nice bonus and two pools and a couple of grills for residents to use. Parking for visitors is nonexistent, visitors need to park across the street on Las Riendas Dr and run across Harbor. I never had a problem with other residents parking in my assigned spot but my parking space was towards the back of the complex. With regards to cars and storage in the carports being broken into, this is something that can happen anywhere. Don’t leave valuables visible in your car and don’t store anything of real value in the storage area located in the carport, these are made of plywood and can be easily broken into. The cleaning fee is a bit expensive upon move out. They charge a general cleaning and carpet cleaning fee. After all the cleaning fees and the residual utilities you will probably receive less than half of your deposit back. Overall I enjoyed living at Brooklake.
My car was broken into, cop said that it happens very often at this complex. If I knew about this I would’ve never moved in, so I would like to let everyone know that there are homeless people living by the gates on the back of the parking structure.
This is a pretty complex. That is the end of my positive views of this property. Old appliances. Garbage disposal that worked maybe 50% of the time. Very limited parking. I believe I took 9 months for my second parking spot and it only took that long because they forgot to add me to their list. And my biggest complaint is that after paying for everything (100% rent and utilities, cleaning fee, inc) I was placed in collections. After confirming that I didn't owe them money it still took over three weeks to have them do anything. Corporate is a joke. I'm at the point of saying they owe me money for additional credit reports and the thousands of dollars this will cost me and my husband in closing costs on our home. DONT DO IT. They are negligent self-selving individuals and that doesn't make up for them changing the landscape 4 times a year.
Brooklake apartments is a wonderful place to call home. The landscape is beautiful and we'll maintained. It's has a lovely pool area and the neighborhood is freindly. It is run by Mesa management and the employees are very nice and helpful. My family and I love our apartment.
I've been living at the brooklake apartments for a year now, the people here are very friendly. The apartment we have is a 2 bedroom/1 bath and it is very comfortable spacious. The one thing I dislike about living here is that I have neighbors who smoke. When they chose to smoke (which is quite frequent), I have to close all my windows and turn on my AC so my daughter doesnt have to get the second hand smoke.
The manager Angelina is so helpful and is providing all special needs for my autistic son, by putting different locks on doors for safety for my son. She explained and gave me information on a storage across the street that I can store extra items from my old house with a % 25 coupon.. The tour was plesent, she showed me downstairs units and upstair units, 2 pools and the gym and sauna.. She also showed me where I would be parking at. She made feel important and that I can trust her with living situations.. She was very cheerful and happy to my autistic child.. She received a A from me, I received my contract and I'm moving in on the 2nd... So thanks apartment.com your information and beautiful pictures you shared also helped my decision.
The complex is very well kept with beautiful landscaping. The apartments have great layouts and are very spacious. Two pools and a spa, gym, steam room, BBQ's. The staff is very friendly and inviting. I love living here.
I have lived here for over a year now! It is such a great location, I currently attend Cal State Fullerton and it is a good distance to my school. My neighbors are fairly nice and they respect quiet hours. The pools are very well maintained, as well as the landscape. The only problem we have had is that when we moved in we were supposed to have our apartment completely clean. Our walls were not painted and our countertops had not been redone. We have contacted our leasing office so they could fix it (since they said they would before we moved in). Other than that we love living here and would highly recommend it!
Pros: the grounds are well maintained and groomed. Lots of greenery. There's a little waterfall & stream feature when entering. I've really only delt with Angie in the office, she's awesome. Facilities/maintenance guys are great. Pool area is nice. I haven't had any real issues with the apt. Small issues facilities quick to response. Gated complex. Near by shopping and walking trails. Neighbors are cool. Gym available. Cons: Club house with pool table is only available til 6 pm (when office closes) which makes that basically useless as this is when the world comes home from work, around 6 pm... Wish that remained open so I can actually use. No visitors parking. Living room AC only. A bit pricey.
The staff here is awesome and so helpful. We have had a few minor issues (disposal breaking, screen coming off) but the maintenance guy is extremely prompt and super friendly. The cost for a one bedroom is about 1200 which is an amazing price for an apartment this nice in SoCal. The property, once inside, feels like an oasis away from the concrete jungle with streams and awesome landscaping. I am thrilled to be living here, the only negative to this property is the parking limitation. However if you need extra parking you can park at Walmart right next door.
My husband and I moved in to our one bedroom apartment 3 months ago. From the beginning we have loved the service Brooklake has offered. The office staff foresaw any problems before we even mentioned them and took care of them immediately. Angelina, the leasing manager, is one of the most delightful people I have ever met. She has proven to be very reliable and helpful, and she quickly became more than just our leasing manager, but a dear friend. Since it is a bit of an older complex, some maintenance problems are to be expected, but Lorenzo is such a friendly, helpful, and prompt maintenance manager. I don't mind when something breaks down or needs fixing because it is always a joy to talk to him. He even lent my husband some of his tools so that he could build a picnic table. The community has a lot of children who play on the grass in the evenings, which we enjoy because it makes the area feel more friendly and safe. Other than that, though, the area is remarkably quiet, which is a surprise, especially considering the cross streets it is located on. The creek that runs through the property and all of the trees really help block out traffic noise and add to the beauty of the property. My favorite part about this apartment is the ways they allow us to personalize our space. I have never lived in an apartment before that allowed us to paint the walls or even hang up Christmas lights. It's really fun. We have loved all of the neighbors we have met, and really enjoy all the amenities. The one thing that could really use some upgrading is the laundry facilities. Some of the driers do not dry our clothes completely, which is frustrating. The work-out facility is a bit dated as well, but they have plans to remodel. Overall, this property is a wonderful place to live, and my husband and I plan to be here for quite some time.
This was probably the worst experience I have ever had with renting. I am a college student who does internships, and throughout my college career, I have lived in many different places for short periods of time. Never have I lived somewhere with such unorganized management. They never knew what our rent would be each month due to our short-term lease and therefore we never could pay rent on time. They said we would get most of our security deposit back, plus reimbursements for the last 5 days of our lease term because we moved out and new tenants moved in before our lease was actually up. We got about 1/4 of our security deposit back and nothing for the 5 days we didn't live there. They are horrible at responding to my roommate and I regarding this situation and it's been about 2 months... Needless to say we are very unhappy. If it wasn't for me being so deadline-oriented, I doubt we would ever know what our rent was each month and they would have never kept us informed. So if you want responsible management from your apartment complex, this is definitely not the place to go.
Lived in theses apartments for about a year, worst idea. The ameneties are terrble, gym is never working, pools are disgusting and hardly ever clean, laundry rooms are dirty and the machines are always breaking down or do a poor job. Most of all the parking here is ridiculous, they assing you a parking spot but regarless of that people park in your parking spot and it takes forever for the towing to get there. Which leaves you to park a mile from home, very inconvinient. Also parking for guests is non-existant, the few slots that are there are pretty much reserved for people that have too many cars and need to use the guests parking which they will check out every morning and leaves guests having to park a mile away. To say the least the people working there are of no help ever, always busy or chatting it up with residents that have been living there for ever. Would not recommend to live there at all. Overpriced for the quality of the living conditions. To top it all off, there are dogs everywhere, very loud neighbors and useless staff to help.
Brooklake is pretty nice from an outsiders perspective, but after living here for two years, here is the real deal. The washers and dryers rarely all work. Sometimes you find out after your clothes have been "drying" for 45 minutes and they're still soaking wet, or sometimes you find out after you've paid and the dryer doesn't move. Occasionally the machine that loads your payment card breaks and management leaves you high and dry (literally). There's a stickie note telling you it's "out of order," and no other option for doing laundry won't cut it. It's hit or miss with the other "amenities" as well. The hot tub is in working condition 8 out of 10 times you try to use it. There is usually at least one workout machine out of order, and you have to pay a deposit to be able to use the workout room after 5:00 p.m. When we moved in, we were told this is a pet free community. Nearly all of our neighbors have pets, and some of their dogs have kept us awake through 3:00 a.m. on multiple occasions. We can't sleep with the windows open in the summer because of barking dogs. One thing I will have to say is that maintenance problems with the apartment were fixed very quickly by Lorenzo. He is one of the only helpful people that works here.
Do NOT believe ANYTHING Samantha tells you. Get it in writing. She told us several lies to get us to lease then hung us out to dry. Also, read the lease carefully-you will be charged an exorbitant amount of money to paint and clean the apartment once you vacate. They try to keep your entire deposit as a matter of fact-no matter how clean you leave it! I had to consult my attorney and quote Cali renters laws to get the majority of my deposit back. The main area in the La Habra location is beautiful but the rest of the complex is below average.
