It is nice living here! i love the community and how accessible is the environment It is also safe and free access to the gym, grill area and the trail if I may say! A lot of perks living here it is nearby to buy out needs we can actually walk going to food lion, walmart and even aldi! The leasing officers are always willing to help and there are police officers guarding the area so all and all it is very a good choice to be here!
We are very happy with the great office staff and all the nice upgrades!!! The location is also great , we are looking forward to living at Brookside 17
Me and my daughter moved in a month ago. Absolutely love it here!! I had been looking for a place and was overwhelmed and stressed. I stopped in one day passing by. Thought I’ll just check. I walked in the office doors and was greeted by Natalie . She was so helpful and patient with me. She took me around the property and answered every question I had and questions that I didn’t.?? I wasn’t planning on any of that but I’m so glad she took the extra time to ease my mind. It brought us here. Love our two bedroom apartment and The amenities are great. It is overall just a great place to live!! Thank you Natalie for everything!! A big shout out to the maintenance team as well. They are on their A game!
It's getting much better under the new management and I love the location. I would recommend if someone was to ask. I wish the gym was open 24 hours
Wish amenities were better: Valet trash is charged automatically but they don’t actually come like they’re supposed to (reliably). One week, they didn’t come at all and it wasn’t a holiday or anything.
Nice place just wish it was slightly cleaner. Everyone is very friendly but dont pick up after their animals. Spacious bedrooms and I can not wait to try the amenities
So far it has been great . I love my apartment. It’s a couple minor issues but have been resolved at a timely manner. Any one I’ve talked to at the rent office has been nice and very helpful .
Everything would be fine. But the internet is terrible. Every time the internet turns off after rain. And in the apartment itself there is no signal from the SIM card. And it turns out that you are left without any connection at all. This is terrible in the 21st century.
Brookside has been our home for a year and everything has been great. As soon as we have a request for any issue in our apartment it is quickly resolve. The pool is always clean and the property is kept up to date.
Natalie was super nice and helpful with our experience. Process was simple and paperwork was minimal. Would definitely work with again. Would recommend.
Perfect for a first apartment. Relatively quiet and all neighbors are friendly. Also, the pool is super nice to have and is always alive with the sounds of kids and family having fun.
Great stay very comfortable living development, just moved in and I already love the place definitely recommend this nice apartment complex to my friends and family
Great place to be here ,safe freindly quiet and safe The brokside is a lovley place to call home we really enjoye our stay here.The office staff nice and helpfull the appt offer swing pool,tennis court and a walking area alonv with dog park .

Honestly the apartment itself is great for the price. Amazing and friendly staff. Great location. Internet that’s provided isn’t the best, but having your own personal WiFi works great in this location!

I've been living in this apartment complex since February 2024, and there are several aspects I enjoy. The pool is a great place to relax, and the quaint pond, home to some charming turtles, adds a lovely touch to the environment. The location is also highly convenient, with everything I need close by. However, there are several issues with the apartment itself that need addressing. When I moved in, I noticed that all the doors appeared to have been kicked in, especially the main door to my apartment. The AC sometimes works, but its inconsistency can be frustrating. Maintenance is quite unreliable; you often need to submit multiple work orders before they even come to look at the issue, let alone fix it. It seems like nothing was properly fixed before I moved in; instead, it was just painted over. The tubs were not resurfaced, and the doors were not reattached correctly. I also discovered mold on the window seals and underneath the kitchen sinks. A significant leak from my upstairs neighbor's apartment caused flooding in my unit, which was a major inconvenience. Although it is very cheap to live here, the cons outweigh the price. While I appreciate the positive aspects of this complex, the maintenance and condition of the apartments need serious improvement.

It's a nice area and conveniently located. There isn't a shortage of parking or amenities. The staff is nice and willing to answer questions and make accommodations.
This place is great! They have really turned maintenance around! They are on top of whatever your issue may be! Very nice change from the old management company.
Need bugs sprayed, counters falling apart, needs major updates, no lights or fans in bedrooms. Cracks in walls. Can’t use the gym outside of office hours.
We really enjoy how quiet and beautiful it is the apartment complex and the location is so good, near lots of stores. We like the amenities and the park as well as the pool
I just moved in on Saturday and so far have been loving Brookside. There were minor issues with the apartment but maintenance is very receptive and comes quickly. The community is beautiful.
I have lived here for 3 years now and the with all the new changes to the property such as the pool and area was re-don which is very nice and the walk way around the man made lake is also awesome . I think the only negative is the price for the size of and look of my apartment wish it could be updated. Counter tops , stove , and fridge Mayb adding a washer dryer combo would be awesome !!

This apartment came right on time for me! The office staff is very helpful and have always answered all my questions. I’ve had to put in work orders for maintenance, they came fast, even called me while I was at work to make sure it was ok to enter, and then fixed the problem fast! Very nice! It’s a beautiful community with nice people. It’s a great thing to feel comfortable and safe! A great place to live with a reasonable rent too!
This is truly the best community I've lived in. Office managers are available for contact even on weekends. quick response to requests! all 5 stars!!!
My experience has been beyond amazing. I wish we had an elevator to help with large items. But it makes for great cardio. ;) Maintenance and staff are attentive, friendly, and involved. We’re a community!
Amazing! Just need our people that fix our stuff to just let us know with a note or some type of notification when they enter your apartment to fix things!
I moved in a week ago & Brookside has already proven to be a great place to live. From all the amenities, quick respond from management & safely measures. I love it here!
So far so good! I love staying here and looking forward to renewing my lease bc of the pleasant experience I’m having! Also I love how the complex is updating the amenities here giving the apartment a now more glamorous look to it, and just to throw in there that maintenance is doing a wonderful job with service calls
We have lived here four years and overall it’s a nice place to live. The staff is generally friendly and seems eager to help. Rent has increased over $350/month in the time we have lived here but everything has gone up. We live in the back of the complex and there is a definite problem with the animals getting into the valet trash. I don’t use valet trash for this reason but the service is nice to have. We will probably renew our lease again when the time comes.
I love my apartment here. It is just me living alone and a one-bedroom apartment allows me to keep it in the budget but have the space for friends to come over and hangout without feeling crowded. The management is also super friendly and helpful.
Nice place to live. Always see deer walking behind my building. Staff is generally kind and work with you on things. Could be better about removing broken glass from the grass areas. Plenty of upgrades being done.
Great atmosphere, amazing staff, well maintained. I have lived here for five years and I don’t plan on leaving anytime soon! Great place to live!

Lived here for four years now. Community is pretty quiet, aside from construction/improvements so that’s ok. The apartment leases with washers and dryers so that’s nice! Windows leak air and water terribly but it’s an old building so to be expected. Maintenance is slow but very friendly, it could be worse. For the price it’s a nice place to live in my opinion.

Honestly I wouldn’t recommend moving here. The rent is way too high for what you actually get in the older apartments that don’t have the renovations. Not the quietest neighborhood to be in Matthews at all. Constantly having issues with items inside the apartment etc.
The apartment has been fine since moving in. The reason for the 3 rating is due to the move in experience. I was scheduled to move in on 12/22. Signed the lease and received the keys. Opened the unit and the heater unit caught on fire and I turned it off. Due to the holiday, it would not be repaired until after XMas. My family was coming to celebrate XMAS at my new place and we could not. Too cold in the unit. No rent concession offered to me as a new tenant that was greatly hindered during the Xmas season. Very frustrating.
Love the community and all the amenities they have to offer. The staff is amazing and the make the process easy and stress free. Great place to call home.
Overall I enjoy living here. Have had issues with ants and water bugs / roaches, but it’s much less frequent than my last apartment. The scenery is definitely a plus.
I love living here, it is very quiet, I feel comfortable here with my family, it is safe, smoke-free, easy to access, my things nearby, pharmacies, supermarkets, banks and highways
I love the location and where my building is and the fact that it's a quiet area and my neighbors are quiet and courteous to each other. And it's nice and clean.
It’s been great the apartment is very clean and put together. And we love it so far can’t wait to be here for 15 months or even more. We would totally recommend this to friends.
