Property Ratings at Brookside Apartments
This place floods every 4 years or so. If you move here your vehicle or property may be susceptible to flood damage. While initially I had a good experience with the management team they handled the flood very poorly. Their communication continued to worsen after this incident. Random solicitors began to knock on my door toward the end of my lease and they became hard to reach when there we're maintenance issues. When I notified them that I would be leaving it took them a month to return the several messages I left them. I began to feel uncomfortable living at this property due to these issues and decided to move.
It was affordable for our first apartment, until they jacked up the price even though the same problems existed and the same unhelpful staff made our living experience terrible. HEADS UP: be prepared to pay about $300 extra at the end of your stay there, on top of losing your security deposit regardless of how well you take care of the place. $200 for cleaning the carpet in ONE TINY BEDROOM. $75 for PAINTING THE WALLS, regardless if you ask if painting is necessary and they tell you not to worry about it. It is run down with MOLD everywhere, the air conditioner did NOT work from day 1, and the windows slide down without any warning, letting the WASPS that have taken over the building come into your place. The $140 A MONTH you pay for maintenance goes to WASTE in the winter, as they do NOT PLOW/SHOVEL SNOW on weekends, meaning if its really bad out, you cannot leave for work. The online payment system is completely flawed, making it hard to know what you owe and what they have taken out without warning.
I've been living at the Broookside apartments for about 3 months now and I've signed up for a one year lease. I've not had any problems so far with my apartment. The maintenance team is very good and resolve all issues on time. The AC unit is only in the bedroom though, and there is no centralized air conditioning.
