Located 11 minutes from downtown Bridgeport, the North End feels quiet and family-oriented. Single-family homes line the blocks, and kids shoot hoops on the driveway or play in grassy backyards. Despite the suburban vibes, approximately one-third of households here rent. The market includes both apartments and houses, making it an attractive option for those new to the city.
Residents run errands and grocery shop on Main Street, which serves as the neighborhood's commercial center. For take-out, locals like the authentic Turkish fast food at Bereket. Festooned with Christmas lights, this hole-in-the wall favorite dishes up grilled kabobs and outstanding stuffed grape leaves, along with Turkish tea that customers crave. The North End's ample green spaces provide outdoor fun, including a playground at Puglio Park and wooded trails that run through the Elton Rogers Woodland Park.

Property Ratings at Brookside Gardens
They raise my rent and I'm still waiting on repairs. They don't return my calls. Renters beware.
I would say that this place is safe and peaceful. If you are looking for an apartment with nice neighborhood this is the place to be.
Very bad apartment to live , forget about cheap cost in the area , you will have a better feel of your money if you pay more in another place . This house is poorly insulated, you can hear everything your neighbour is doing , the apartment above will keep giving noise at every walk because you can hear everything they are doing. Bad management and property managers. they will never respond to tons of emails sent , they form blind even when alerted to treating emergency issues, The sales person or realtor at the office just sit and never responded to issues ! The maintenance will never show up to solve urgent maintenance issues. Greedy management they increase your rent annually with no genuine reasons . The worst of it is that in the useless parking lot, the management have a collaboration with a towing company , they tow your vehicle wrongly when they knew fully well that you are a residence of the apartment, the towing company charges you $600 in cash to get your car back , the management will never respond or get involved when you reach out, no empathy! They charge $15 monthly for trash disposal but most of the time the dumpster is always filled with the garbage from the construction materials of the buildings they are renovating. Nothing recreational in this area , unfriendly people living together . Just Run ! That’s all I can say !

This place is so sad to live in. All the previous reviews on here are so spot on. The property manager, leasing woman and maintenance are so rude. They need some customer service training and a course to understand that us as tenants don’t work for them but they work for us because we pay rent for a service. When the property manager doesn’t like you, he makes it known by his behaviour when he sees you and he would never return your calls or emails. When you complain too much for things that they need to fix because the property was cheaply renovated, all the workers here have an attitude. Management had the audacity to put a paper in our doors about issues that has been ongoing for years which were never dealt with. Issues which included smoking in and around the property and noisy tenants in their apartments. It is absolutely hilarious that new people moved in, in the past 2 to 3 months then suddenly they want to act like they are oh so professional with dealing with issues that we signed onto in our leases years ago, that shouldn’t have been happening and nothing was done prior to now. I have been one to complain about those two things for years and NOTHING was done to the individuals ruining my stay here. This entire building needs to be demolished and built over. It’s too noisy with very poor insulation and you can hear EVERYTHING from the people below, above and to the sides of you. Windows aren’t sealed properly, very noisy floors for so called newly renovated, bathrooms always clogged, AC not put in properly, paint chipping off walls, hallways STINK SO BAD it comes into your apartments, they turn off water without notifying anybody, breeds of dogs are allowed on this property that other places don’t allow, it’s ghetto, roaches, a lot of gov assistance people live here who hang around around the entrances making noise drinking and smoking. It’s just overall NASTY here ! Maintenance takes days to weeks to show up if they don’t like you, you see them running around to cater to the newer people to try to make an impression. The insulation here is so awful you hear people dragging furniture below you, slamming doors, talking, flushing their toilets a million times etc. They need a new property manager here who’s not biased if they want progress here.

Thank you for you feedback. We set high standards for ourselves and sorry to hear you feel this was not met in your experience. If you would like to visit the office to discuss, please let us know, thank you.
I have lived here for over a year and am completely at a breaking point with the absolute nonsense that this apartment is. First and foremost. I had been looking for a one bedroom apartment for my partner and I and our 2 dogs. The first apartment we found seemed nice until, the excessive noise complaints we have put in from the apartment above us. Roaches were an issue since the first day. The floor was cheaply made that I can feel the gaps and hear the loud noises as I walk through. I have emails on emails of all the complaints I had put in for the tenants above us for making all types of noise at 3,4, 5 am and we were told to put in a report to police, after that we were the ones told to relocate to another apartment or break the lease when WE WERE NOT THE ONES MAKING THE NOISE. That is one huge red flag right there. Secondly, the hallways smell of weed and cigarettes all the time. It is beyond disgusting that I constantly have to breathe in these fumes with no disregard to anyone’s health (my partner have also emailed on numerous occasions about that) the poor insulation in these “so called renovated apartments” is absolutely appalling. Fast forward we were offered another apartment that has the bedroom on the top floor to fix the noise complaint issue so we transferred there believing it would have been slightly better. Nope, different apartment, worse issues. The floors still have gaps and make horrendous noise, the windows are so poorly built if it rains, you can see water building up through the walls and it forms cracks. Maintenance will not respond right away and when they do all that is done is quick sealing up instead of reinstalling the windows and doing things right the first time to avoid this issue. For the winter, I had asked to take out the Ac unit and cover it because I don’t want the cold air to seep through, (it did anyway because of cheap insulation) the heat doesn’t work in the apartment so we have heaters of our own. The shower doesn’t drain properly and accumulates water consistently. If I have any issues I’m told to call maintenance which believe me we have. I should not be chasing down anyone to do their job. I’m beyond exhausted. For the amount of issues and the smoke smell to this point still continues it saddens anyone to actually want to come back to this dump.
The building constantly smells like cigarettes, even though smoking is not allowed- neighbors are not respectful of this. Management said they were gonna take the carpet out in the halls and replace it with hardwood - that was 6 months ago! There is zero insulation in the walls/ceilings- you will hear everything your neighbors are doing and vice versa. They charge an extra fee for trash disposal and for "renters insurance" LOL. They also charge for the washers/dryers - which, the washer is constantly out of order and not leaving clothes clean. Maintenance is extremely slow and rude- I have had 2 emergency maintenance situations and it took them a week to get to me. Offered zero compensation or even an apology. DO NOT live here even if it is your last choice.
This place is sooo bad. First, there is no insulation in this building. The renovated apartments flooring makes cracking noise while walking. Some spots you can actually see the cracks. Forget about geeting things fixed by maintainance. They increase rest almost 300 dollars every year. Wrongfully gets your car towed. Add extra charge on monthly rent. They charge 10 dollars for trash and the dumpster is always filled with thier renovation trash. The leasing lady and the property manager is rude and will not listen or respond to your calls/emails regarding any issues.

Thank you for your feedback and review. I would like to take the time to respond to your concerns as excellent customer service and satisfaction is a very high priority for us. As you stated, we are in the process of renovating our units and upgrading the property. If at any time there are issues with flooring, we are happy to send our contractors in to make any necessary repairs. When a unit is being cleared out, our contractors use the dumpsters on site, however, we have arrangements with the trash removal companies to empty the containers the next morning to prevent overflow. We also have staff on-site to ensure there is no mess around any of the dumpster areas. We made this decision to not have an unsightly construction dumpster on the property for an extended period and chose to manage it in this way. We do strive to always keep all areas clean. We also enforce towing at our property to ensure that there is enough parking for our residents as it is "resident parking only". All residents are provided with a permit that must be always displayed in their vehicle when parked on the property. If any vehicle does not display a permit, it will be towed. As stated before, we always strive for excellent customer service and apologize for any interpretation of rude communication from our offices. Thank you again for your honest feedback and if you are a current resident, please do not hesitate to contact our office if you have any issues going forward.
