Oklahoma City is a thriving city right at the heart of Oklahoma. The city’s thriving economy is complemented by its exciting nightlife and entertainment options. Downtown is home to the Myriad Botanical Gardens and the Oklahoma City Zoo, two extremely popular family-friendly attractions. The Myriad Gardens also include the Oklahoma Shakespeare in the Park production at the Water Stage.
The Oklahoma City Thunder has built a dedicated fan base, and things always get pretty wild around the Chesapeake Arena on game days. The arts community is quite active with galleries, museums, theater productions, and a music scene incorporating everything from underground alternative bands to the Oklahoma City Philharmonic.
The city has been expanding in recent years, and Oklahoma City proper is much easier to get around with public transportation than most other cities in the region, including rail service.

Property Ratings at Brookwood Village
You have to pull an arm and a leg to get these people to fix anything in your apartment, and they have zero trouble putting you into an apartment with this that were broken by the previous tenants. The apartments look absolutely nothing like the pictures, this place, from it’s advertised amenities to the interior of the apartment, is AGED. The A/C went out about a week after moving in, the maintenance guys came in and fixed it temporarily before it permanently gave out about a month later. Now, at this point I’ve been promised a window unit and haven’t heard back since. So, if you’re asking if I’m sitting in a hot apartment in even hotter 100 degree weather, as I type this? Yes, I am. After multiple e-mails, calls, and work-orders— We are still stuck with absolutely no A/C. This place has 7 working washing machines throughout the entirety of Brookwood Village, and pest problems as an added bonus. Love it here.
Everything in the unit is broken most of the time.Plumbing and Electrical especially for me,and I've only been here a year.AC will probably soon follow though.Dozens of hidden fees, and they are raising prices to assured rates constantly without warning.People are constantly noisy, and the Cops are called for something almost very day of the week.
The price is not worth what you get as far as facilities being broken all the time the office always being closed nasty grounds, stolen packages, nasty customer service, worn down apartments
Do NOT move here. Let me start with the office. They NEVER answer the phone, and when you actually go into the office with an issue I’ve experienced rude employees. The trash cans all around the property rarely get emptied and are often seen overflowing with trash. The laundry rooms are not kept up with washers and dryers constantly being broken for months on end. The machine to add money on your laundry card is in the main office. So if you work 9-5 M-F good luck putting money on your laundry card because they are also closed on the weekends. That also goes for the gym you can only access the gym during their office hours. The pools, though there may be many they are never open. Pools typically open memorial weekend and close Labor Day weekend. There was one summer where they didn’t open till the summer was nearly over and even during that time they closed the pools on a day to day basis. The office was also aware of homeless individuals doing drugs in the wooded section of the property, used needles were found on the property where people walk their dogs and kids play. Nothing was done by the apartments to fix this situation but rather an irritated resident had to take the matter into their own hands. Inside the apartment there are cracks from the foundation of the house and one of the 800 building’s exterior has a huge crack where the building is literally pulling away. The ONLY good factor with these apartments is the maintenance department who actually do keep up with work orders.
Unbelievably Roach infested. Not a day goes by I don't see 5-6 roaches. Spraying once a week and management has Sprayed. Ineffective. They're everywhere and get into everything!
These apartments have water damage all throughout them. I have been going down to the leasing office since 05/25/2022 to ask them nicely to repair the leak that I have before I sign another lease with them. 2 urgent requests have been made and were not fulfilled. They assured me someone would fix it and I gave them the benefit of the doubt. My Damage was not repaired until 07/28/2022 after coming in every week begging for someone to fix the damage(when I run my shower my downstairs kitchen ceiling above my stove leaks). There was no real repair in the bathroom tub. All they did was painted over it; in which the paint is already chipping and revealing the damages that they did not repair underneath it. My Lease is up 08/06/2022 and I have had no resolution here and nowhere else to go since I stayed patient with Brookwood Village believing that they would take care of it. DO NOT MOVE HERE UNLESS YOU DON'T MIND WATER DAMAGE AND WATER LEAKING INTO YOUR FOOD WHEN COOKING :)

We sincerely regret that we were unable to fix this issue in our attempt to address it. The leak happened to coincide with a turn-over in our staff, which was the initial reason for this delay, however it's not an excuse. Then when we were able to prioritize more effectively and dispatch a vendor to fix it, they were unsuccessful in their attempt. We understand and take full responsibility for your frustration during that time, and we very much wish that things had gone differently. If there's anything we can do for you going forward then please don't hesitate to let us know, and we wish you nothing but the best in your new home. Sincerely, The team at Brookwood Village
I just signed a lease, they wouldn’t show the apartment until I signed. When i saw it there was water damage with mold on cabinet. Dishwasher was broken, toilet broken, but was told they would be fixed immediately. Two days later when I started to move in, the air conditioner was broken and since it heated up, the smell of dog excrement was overpowering. They told me they would get it fixed two days later, nada, I asked for a working apartment that didn’t smell and didn’t irritate my severe asthma, but they sis they were going to put in one of those little portable air conditioners and that the previous tenant had put on their lease they didn’t have pets so it didn’t stink! I think I know dog crap when I smell it, and sorry but a fancy fan in one room doesn’t keep me from having a deathly asthma attack in the heat. When I told them nothing was fixed they told me I took it as is when I signed the lease! I asked foe an inhabitable apartment they told me I had to stay there 6 mos. Sorry but I don’t intend to die over your poor management. Take my advice and find somewhere that cares about their people, these DO NOT ,!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Made workorder 3 weeks ago nobody shown up yet, Every time work order is made, next morning the status shows completed but there is no one here yet to fix. Went to office and complain them, they said will be fixed by tomorrow; a week passed and called them again and said will be fixed by tomorrow... made work order online now it shows completed again I do not know if there is a ghost who comes and fix it. THE SUN HAS SET AND SUNRISE next morning doing its job but I am here waiting for more than a 3 weeks waiting for the Brookwood maintenance to do their job....

This is an old community but they charge like it's brand new. If you're interested in only staying for a short time this is an okay place but if you are thinking of making this your "home" look somewhere else. Expect the rent to go up by quite a bit each year and don't expect to see improvements made for what you're paying. Outside areas are messy and buildings are run down, pools have either been shut down or not opened at all, laundry facilities are dirty and not maintained. Definitely not worth the price.

Good morning! My name is Amanda and I am the Community Director here at Brookwood Village. I'm sorry to hear that your experience here with us has been less than satisfactory. Unfortunately due to Covid, supply chain issues for chlorine, and necessary capital improvements to 4 of our 7 pools, yes, most of them had to remain closed. We fully anticipate them all being open this season. I'm happy to address any of your other concerns if you would like to discuss them. You can reach me at 405.759.5052 or by email at brookwoodvillagedir@weidner.com
I wish there was no star to grade. Been more than 8yrs here and I did not expected them to treat this way. It's getting terrible/worst day by day. Even the Management itself is poor here so, it's obvious employee under them will not work and leave the office before the time stated in website. I have pending work order for more than 2 months about "VERY BAD SMOKE/WEED COMING INTO MY APARTMENT FROM ATTACHED APARTMENT AND ITS KILLING US I HAVE KID AND DUE FOR NEW BORN" I talked to manager they came here and agreed to my complain but, they have been making excuses & not trying to talk on phone/meet and now I am waiting for final-call, I have recordings of all the conversation we had because I knew they will lag but did not imagined this far.

Good afternoon,, this is Amanda, the Community Director that walked your home with you, the Service Manager and Assistant Community Director. I am sincerely sorry to hear that our efforts which consisted of: sealing the holes in your closet where the duct work lies, cleaning your air ducts and your condenser coils and plenum have done nothing to help ease the smell of smoke in your apartment home. I know we discussed these options in hopes that they would work. Aside from these steps that have been addressed in a timely manner and in accordance to the schedules of our third party vendors that performed some of the work, there is little else we are able to do in your home at this time as we discussed that we are not a smoke free community and so we cannot enforce no smoking in someone else's home. In the spirit of full transparency, this is the exact reason that you were offered alternative lease agreements, which you declined. At this time, that offer is still on the table and we are happy to revisit that option with you as we sincerely want you and your family to be happy in whatever place you chose to call home. Please reach out to me directly at brookwoodvillagedir@weidner.com or via phone at 405.759.5052. I look forward to visiting with you.
An okay place to live...if you only want to stay for a short time. They don't care about the renters who want to be long term. Rent goes up 5-6% every year and no improvements are made and there are no incentives to renew. Surrounding area is very nice but since Weidner took over it's not a nice place to live.
Property Manager at Brookwood Village, Responded To This Review
Good morning! My name is Amanda and I am the Community Director here. I feel badly that you feel that way. Rent increases are in no way meant to reflect negatively on the care we provide to our residents, as there are many driving factors for rent increases, like inflation and high demand. The average market rent in OKC is $802, while the average rent here at Brookwood remains around $713. So we are still offering highly competitive and affordable rates. I would love to show you the difference between what you pay versus what people coming in to lease now are paying. There's no name attached to the review so I really can't assess your information accurately. I'd love to visit with you more about this in person. Please contact me at your convenience to discuss. 405.759.5052!
Horrible customer service, they don’t ever do anything about neighbors being inconsiderate or rude. I have loud neighbors above me who vacuum at 2 am and was just told that “it’s part of apartment living” to not be able to sleep at night because of the loud people above me. Their “amenities” are run down and not taken care of. Particularly the pools that they closed most of the summer (06/2020-08/2020) to renovate and now they are filled with nasty water and not drained properly(02/04/2021).. the pond is usually filled with trash and other debris that murks up the water so bad you can’t even see the bottom... not to mention the washers and dryers rarely work but they upped the price on them. Security never answers either, despite the fact that it’s their job. Don’t even bother with this place! It’s not worth your money and you can find other complexes for the same price with better quality living.
Property Manager at Brookwood Village, Responded To This Review
Good morning, my name is Amanda and I am the Community Director here at Brookwood Village. I am not sure whom I am addressing as theirs no name attached to the review. I am incredibly sorry that you feel your experience with us has been poor. While I'm not sure I can fix it for you at this point, I would like to offer some information to remain in open communication. While what you were told is true, it was a poor offering of an explanation so perhaps I can clarify. Please understand that many of our numerous residents do not work 9-5 jobs. In fact, many of them are day sleepers. So while they are sleeping the rest of the world is up doing the very same thing you've mentioned in your review. So as long as its not violating anyone rights to peaceful enjoyment, such as loud music, fighting etc, they are operating within reason to maintain their home. As for the amenities, it is a community effort. While ultimately we are responsible for their maintaining, we rely heavily on residents such as yourself, who are as passionate about their community as we are, to help us keep it clean and functional. This means making sure trash makes its way to a proper dumpster and not casually tossed out on the grounds. Sadly, not everyone cares about the community in the same regard as you do, so at times, it can be challenging. The pools unfortunately were out of our control in 2020 as all capitol projects were put on indefinite hold due to covid. This meant they remained closed and many remained inoperable for most of the season. Even when they were open, they were restricted to a minimum amount of people. We do not drain pools in the winter. We keep them full and drain them when it is time to get them up and running for the season as we don't want the pools to float and become permanently inoperable. We are looking at getting pool covers for the pools that still remain uncovered to help keep it more pleasant looking during the off months. The laundry machines run through a 3rd party vendor. We would like to discuss a transfer for you if you are open to that. Perhaps a bungalow where there's no upstairs neighbor to contend with? Please reach out to me to discuss. You can reach me directly at 405.759.5052 or via email at brookwoodvillagedir@weidner.com. Thank you for your review!
Prices and location are good. However some things come up that are disappointing. Our apartment smelled heavy of smoke upon touring and we notified the complex and nothing was done to help this problem. My fiancé had asthma so this was a major jump to conquer in the beginning. Our AC was also broken when we moved in and was not fixed for several days in the middle of 90 degree heat. Another disappointment was the pools. We were very excited for the feature of the community pools, however construction on the pools did not begin until June and continues still. I hope this does not continue until it’s time to close the pools for the fall. Customer service though, is great. Everyone we’ve talked to has been pleasant and helpful. Overall the quality of our apartment is decent but I hope others have a more positive experience.
Terrible experience. The onsite laundromats are disgusting and rarely work, of the 7 swimming pools advertised only two opened up this year (The others remained disgusting leading to a mosquito problem), management gives a single days notice to clear out your kitchen before pest control enters, potholes everywhere, myself and our neighbors dishwasher were old and broke down three and four times a year respectively. I could go on. Price is okay tho.
The new management is much better. Maintenance is top notch. Lots of amenities and space.

Good morning! W O W-Thank you so much for the stellar review. We can't tell you how much hearing positive feedback blesses us, especially during this unprecedented crisis. We appreciate you giving a shout out not only to management, but our service team as well. We could not do what we do without them or residents like you who make it all worth it! Have a great weekend!
I lived here for 2 months and my apartment flooded twice. I've tried to get ahold of them but they didn't seem to care about it. You pay rental insurance for them not to come out and fix the issue. I had mold growing in my bedroom, bathroom and everywhere the house. They pulled up my carpet and padding for them to just leave it that way and nails sticking out for me to step on. So beware.

Thank you for sharing your feedback with us. As you may or may not be aware, the rains we have experienced the past couple of months here have not been normal. We have received between 3-5 inches several times in just a short amount of time which have overwhelmed not only parts of our community but the state as a whole. I am sorry that your customer service experience with us has not been met to your satisfaction. We would like the opportunity to resolve the services that are lacking in your home. As you did not post your name I am unable to look you up in our system. Would you please contact me at your earliest convenience to discuss the services still needing to be completed? You can reach me via phone at 405.691.2661 or directly via email at Brookwoodvillagedir@weidner.com.
horrible across the board. rent goes up every lease period. the first few times were $10-$20 but this time to renew a 6 month lease it goes up $80 a month. laundry equipment doesn't work half the time, if you call on the machines they still don't fix them. I've been at these Apts for 7 years and I am a dear valued resident who only wants to renew 6 months at time in case something unforeseeable happens. This is how they treat valued residents.ITS A TRAP....

Thank you for taking the time to post. My name is Amanda and I am the new Community Director at Brookwood Village. I am unable to look you up in the system and would really like the opportunity to speak with you directly regarding your feedback. As the incoming Community Director this information is valuable to me and helps me gauge overall where we need to be as a community. Please feel free to contact me by phone or email at 405.691.2661or brookwoodvillagedir@weidner.com. Looking forward to hearing from you.
You can read the reviews, but don't hang your hat on them..a lot of reviews come from tenants who were evicted or were the ones causing problems in the first place. Get off the computer and actually visit the complex...day and night..talk to residents..ask them questions.....get a feel for the place. You have no idea how true any of those comment are and you can't trust reviews. I have lived at these apartments less then a year and I'm simply appalled. The apartments are poorly managed, they are infested by bugs, and the staff very rude. The office refuses to return your calls and they act as if you are a nuisance.

Thank you so much for the positive feedback! We're thrilled you had such a great experience!
I've never had a problem with management, but I do not feel safe at this apartment complex. I've lived here a little under a year and there has been three shootings within the last couple of months and two deaths. I honestly can't wait to move...

When I first moved in I was very optimistic that this place wa a diamond in the rough. I was very wrong. The unit I was in, before I asked them to move me, was INFESTED with roaches. I didn't notice till the day after I moved in. (I've never had this problem in my life) After two months of them trying to control the bugs I was finally moved to another unit. They never apologized for the bugs. When I moved into my new unit the carpet was stained and dirty, the dishwasher did not work, and the AC Controller was very outdated. Also, the maintenance is AWFUL. They say they'll be there one day and end up coming a week later. It is cheap and convientantly placed, but I'm now counting down the days to move out.
Really big apartments at a good price.. Just pretty old apartment buildings.
i have been in this apartment for 15 years now i have seen many changes i have had every few problems with them i had a stoke in 2003 and they have been great to me helping out with things i have needed other people have problem sometimes with them but it also depends how you treat them too i would recommend them to anyone
I have lived here for almost a year, within this year I have had to call maintenance several times... the first time was probably the worst.. we had just moved in and spent a good $250 on groceries, well our fridge stopped working. I called and I called, it took 2 days for someone to even come out and look at it. All of my food was ruined. They said they fixed it and a few months later it happened again, they said they fixed it and it happened again.. 3 times it took to fix my fridge. Then my air conditioning went out. it was one thing after another. I cant wait to get out.
