Nestled along the Brunswick and Cape Fear River, Leland is a suburb of the waterfront cities of Myrtle Beach and Wilmington. This pastoral-chic town is near three beaches and other major attractions within the Brunswick Islands region. Locals spend their free time kayaking along the rivers that flow through town or traveling about 30 minutes south for a beach day. Kure Beach offers fishing piers and is home to a variety of activities including the North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher. Residents take full advantage of being so close to the beach, but there is also plenty to do in town. You’ll find renters buying locally grown veggies and plants, taking a class at the Shelton Herb Farm, or taking a horseback riding lesson at Wonderland Farm. If you want to access to a variety of landscapes at all times when renting, Leland is a prime option.

Property Ratings at Brunswick Point Apartments
My family was placed here by our insurance company after a horrible house fire where we lost everything. Basically everything went completely south when it got close for our insurance funds to run out and we needed to become the lease holder by December 21st. I spoke to the front office and let them know multiple times from July to December that our rebuild would not be completed until March of the next year and even 2 different office ladies took written note of it on separate occasions. Well come December I stopped by the office to see what needed to be done to transfer the lease to us. ONLY at that time was I informed that we had to re-apply and get approved. ONLY at that time was I informed that someone else had submitted their application that same day for the apartment. (Which I had been reassured by office staff would not be made available for rent) The next day I called the office to check on our status and they informed me that the other application had been accepted and that we would have to move out by Dec 21! (Obviously less than any 30-days notice policy) I tried talking to them to see if there were any options at all and they were completely unwilling to try to work with us and our situation AT ALL! Me and my family of 5 HAD to be out…4 days before Christmas….with nowhere to go! I feel they completely wrote us off and didn’t even try to give us a fair chance or the upfront information that we needed before it was too late. After everything my family has already been through Brunswick Point Apartments office staff completely failed to do right by us. And at Christmas time too! It really is a shame. Hopefully, in the future, they will work towards communicating better with their tenants and between themselves.
I have lived here for a few months and literally have had nothing but issues. This months issues resulted in a 236 dollar water bill, because the pump on the toilet wouldn’t stop running. I wasn’t even here for 7 days to know it was running. I was in the Bahamas. The microwave broke. The dishwasher falls out half the time. It’s terrible. I have noticed that management is very rude. They don’t care once they have you in a contract. It’s sad.

I began my search for a place to live when I landed a teaching job near by. (2016) There were only two complexes and I chose this one because of the people I saw in and around the pool. It looked like a community. I was told by the people doing my paperwork that they were a new management group and they were phasing in. That should have been a warning sign. At first there were no problems. Then there was the stereo.....then there is the three year old upstairs who runs across the floor from 7 am till after 10 pm daily, jumps off furniture etc. There has been no resolution. Even though I have asked the tenants to 1) turn the stereo down and 2) please curb the child after 10 pm. If you plan to move here and you are close drive through the complex on weekends and weeknights. Look at the parking. When I made mention of having to park in a lot not in front of my apartment I was told, "The complex was built badly." The dumpsters get full fast. Trash is all over which may be ok now, but wait for the seagulls this summer. The pool? Well, it's been closed for a stretch of time this summer for some reason. The laundry area is trashed. You can see the laundry room door propped open often so don't leave your close in their. From time to time you will see the occasional car jacked up in the parking lot. Do your research about this place. Read the reviews. The staff will SEEM friendly enough until the rubber meets the road and then they want to cop a real attitude. I was offered the chance to transfer to another apartment without the transfer fee and then have to sign another 12 month lease LOL No Thanks! It's not the apartment, it's the complex and the staff. Hawthorne will put this place out of business.
The place is in very poor condition and management has no interest in spending the money to make improvements. The grass has died and the bushes are not being pruned. There is flooding into the apartments during heavy storms. The fitness center contains mostly old and broken equipment. The washers and driers are filthy. As for the actual apartments, the solution to most problems is to just paint over it. Looking forward to moving to the new apartment complex in Leland.
Management will lie about issues being resolved and will gloat about how excited they are about "upcoming changes", yet won't address the issues that need to be given attention. I am not impressed at all.
do not move here. new management will not work with you. they will not allow you to have dish. they jack up rent, cut your dish access and force you to cut contract with your satillite provider and will force you to move. don't come here to begin with. used to be great. now very poor management.
