I once stayed in a luxury apartment complex that had all the nice stuff. Granite counter tops, huge pool, large living space, gated community and a 24 hour gym. Seems like the perfect place right?? I thought so too for the 1st year, and then everything went down hill. It was everything from roaches to noisy neighbors, to coming home to your apartment being flooded from your upstairs neighbors to faulty equipment which causes your place to flood (again) to Horrible management to cars being broken into (in a gated community)lol, to, did I mention your apartment being flooded??.....I think I got the picture across. My husband and I needed a change and quick because it was actually putting a strain on our relationship. So I started looking for houses to rent because I was tired of being in close proximity to noisy neighbors. I wanted my own space. However, I kept running into walls went it came it our house hunt. I couldn't find the "perfect" house to rent and I didn't want to buy because I knew the army would move us in three years. I finally went apartment shopping with my friend who was actually looking for a place for herself. The place was called Buckhead apartments. It was almost impossible to find because in order to get to it, you had to take so many lefts and so many rights, and it was behind a residential area which was also behind another apartment complex. It immediately struck me about how quite the neighbors were. The outside was also kept up and inviting and the place was much cheaper than the luxury apartments. I did not have a roach problem when i was there (which is a HUGE plus because i DISPISE them with a passion). So, I decided to take a chance and live there. It was the best decision of my life (besides going college and getting married to the love of my life). The management took down my specific requests and tried to accommodate me in any way possible. There was more than enough storage space inside and there was outside space that came apart of your aprtment. Valet waste also came Sunday through Thursday to pick up trash(which kind of spoiled me) I Ioved my neighbors. There was such a welcoming spirit about that place, so much so that I never wanted to leave (however military had other plans). I would trade those granite counter tops, pool and 24 hour gym ANYTIME for the experience that I had in that diamond in the rough. If I ever come back to Fayetteville, I will most definitely stay at Buckhead apartments.
