Rolling Green is the perfect name for this Rockford neighborhood, since it is teeming with rolling green hills and mature trees. Rolling Green is located between Broadway and Harrison Avenue, roughly four miles southeast of Rockford. South Alpine Road forms the eastern border and 20th Street is on the west side.
Harmon Park, an open green space with a basketball court and a playground, sits in the heart of the neighborhood. While this is a charming residential area filled with attractive houses on hills, renting an apartment in Rolling Green is also practical. The neighborhood is just about two miles southwest of Rockford University, minutes from Downtown Rockford, and approximately 80 miles from Chicago.

Property Ratings at Buckingham Square Apartments
I recently moved into this apartment and couldn’t be happier! The location is ideal, close to public transport, and parks. The apartment itself is spacious, with modern fittings and incredible natural light. The management is outstanding, she is always responsive and go out of her way to ensure residents are comfortable and satisfied. Maintenance issues are addressed promptly, and the communal areas are always clean and well-maintained. Highly recommend this place if you’re looking for a new home!
DO NOT MOVE HERE! It’s infested, the poor property manager treats tenants less than human and refuses to fix anything. Garbage disposal goes out every other week, tubs fill up with water as you shower and her response is telling us to leave then. TERRIBLE.
Seems they are doing some nice upgrades now with the lawn, common areas, and some exterior cosmetic stuff. Starting to feel a bit more upscale, instead of middle tier. Pleasantly surprised.
The landlord doesn’t send someone to clean the apartment buildings. The building where I stay at hasn’t been cleaned in months. The stairs are extremely dirty and the building has bad odors. Send someone to clean!!!!
Lived here for over 6 years, new management came in about a year and a half ago, and have completely changed things around. Quiet, clean, good staff. Wish I could stay.
the management is bad. hot water is shared between 18units. the washers sound like there falling apart. trash is always 2 feet over the dumpster as 1 dumpster is shared between 32 units. the plowing in the winter suck they don't salt the stairs or driveways. there are no new appliances like they say. also no control access. your electric (heat) bill is high in the winter due old windows.I was charged 625 rent for two days as the building became unlivable due to a fire in another unit. management is a joke. due yourself a favor and rent elsewhere
I would like to apologize for my previous post. It was an unfair assessment and very childish. These apartments are a good bang for your buck. I did have some issues, but they were handled in a timely manner and eventually resolved. I am big enough to admit when im wrong or over reacting. My previous post was emotionally based and should have never been submitted. Theses apartments are centrally located. Close to everything, inexpensive, and spacious. Overall a decent place to live.
Just moved out of this complex. Really nice place. Good improvement recently too. We liked it. Been living since 2012.
Buckingham Square complex is a very nice place to live. The office manager treats you with respect, the apartments are maintained properly and promptly, and the residents in the buildings are nice. We have met a few close family friends now through the years here and my kids have enjoyed lived here. We always felt safe, secure, and treated with respect. Considering the fairly low rents (compared to other places at least), and large units, it's probably one of the best deals in Rockford.
Moving out of town, but have lived here for 9 years. Recent change of management has rendered some positives in the complex. Better tenant quality, more responsive onsite maintenance, cleaner complex, to name a few. Location is probably the best feature. Right off Alpine.
Lived here for several years. Nice staff, convenient location, and great neighborhood. Would still live here with my family if I was in Rockford. Highly recommend.
