Located about 15 miles southwest of downtown Miami, Palmetto Estates feels like a sunny suburban utopia, with palm trees along the streets, freshly cut lawns, and Florida's gorgeous clear blue skies. Residents try to enjoy the amazing weather whenever possible, and fortunately, this neighborhood has no shortage of outdoor activities. Play some tennis at Colonial Drive Park, hit a few birdies at the Palmetto Golf Course, or make the short drive out to Biscayne Bay for a day on the water. Biscayne National Park features dazzling coral reefs and stunning islands and is ideal for boating, snorkeling, and camping.
Expect to see plenty of nice houses for rent here, particularly near 160th Street, which has most of the neighborhood's restaurants. You can find various food options in Palmetto Estates, but Sango’s Jamaican and Chinese Restaurant has a unique style that makes it a hidden gem. Head across the Ronald Reagan Turnpike and visit the Gold Coast Railroad Museum of Zoo Miami.
