Like the state of Texas, the Great Northwest region is big. It stretches from Highway 1604 east to Bandera Road, and from Braun Road south to Grissom Road. It includes several smaller communities, including the Great Northwest, Misty Oaks, Northchase, the Hidden Meadow Community, Northwest Crossing, Tezel Heights, Northwest Park, and Braun Hollow.
Great Northwest is convenient to several major highways, Ingram Park Mall, the San Antonio Aquarium, Northwest Vista College, and SeaWorld San Antonio. Downtown San Antonio is only about 15 miles southeast, so this is a great option for commuters. A variety of shopping plazas, restaurants, and businesses are located in Great Northwest, along with access to parks. Nani Falcone Community Park provides a skate park, playgrounds, and disc golf. The 200-acre OP Schnabel Park features picnic pavilions, a pool, and hiking trails.
