The village of Mineola stretches over the town of North Hempstead as well as Hempstead in Nassau County, New York, about 25 miles east of New York City. The small village was named by the Native Americans meaning “pleasant place," and has stayed true to its name thanks to a friendly community and ever-expanding local economy. The neighborhood has a very diverse population, very low crime rates, and top-notch school systems, making it a popular place to live on Long Island.
Surrounded by parks and golf courses, Mineola makes it easy to get out and stay active. Just to the east of the village sits the Gallery at Westbury Plaza and Roosevelt Field, two premiere shopping malls with upscale retail stores. There’s comprehensive subway and bus service in addition to the highways and Interstates, so you can be in any of the boroughs in no time.
