Located on the southwest side of Chicago, McKinley Park offers the historic charm of a more urban area with a slew of red-brick buildings and ornate churches in addition to the convenience of suburban living with several shopping centers and markets strewn throughout the neighborhood. McKinley Park is also accessible to the many amenities of Downtown Chicago via I-55 and the Orange Line.
Outdoor recreation abounds in McKinley Park. The community’s most popular park is also named McKinley Park, featuring 70 acres of numerous athletic fields, a gymnastics center, ice skating rink, and a splash playground. McKinley Park also serves a variety of diverse cuisine—from delectable Mexican seafood at La Palapa to diner-style fare at the 24-hour Huck Finn Restaurant and everything in between.
