Nicknamed “The Hill,” Mission Hill has been cited as one of the 25 Best ZIP Codes in Massachusetts by the Boston Globe. Covering less than a square mile, it is split into five areas including Parker Hill, Roxbury Crossing, the Triangle District, Back of the Hill and Calumet Square. Mission Hill is an oddly shaped area that lies mostly between Massachusetts Route 9/Huntington Avenue and Massachusetts Route 28/Columbus Avenue. It extends to Ruggles Street on one side and Heath Street on the other. Students occupy the area to be close to nearby colleges, including Harvard, which has a campus located directly adjacent to the northwestern side of the neighborhood, and Northeastern University, which has a campus located directly adjacent to the northeastern side of the neighborhood. The Massachusetts College of Art and Design sits in between these two campuses.

School data provided by Great Schools The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.
