Located just one mile north of Downtown San Francisco, Cathedral Hill was named after the breathtaking Cathedral of Saint Mary that sits on the north end of the neighborhood. As one of San Francisco’s most densely populated areas, Cathedral Hill packs a lot of attractions into a tight section of town. The Opera Plaza Theater features showings of new hit movies and classic older films throughout the week.
Gough Street and Van Ness Avenue run through Cathedral Hill/Intermission. There’s no shortage of cool restaurants and bars here, and they’re all near neighborhood apartments for rent. Pläj Scandinavian Restaurant & Bar is a neat place known for their octopus salad. On sunny summer days, residents head to Jefferson Square Park to watch recreational sports or take their dogs to the off-leash pet park.
